Abstract

This study analyzes the urgency of talent management as a strategic driver in improving organizational performance amidst increasingly intense competition. Talent management plays a central role in optimizing human resource potential to support organizational success and strengthen sustainable competitive advantage. The primary objective of this study is to identify and assess the significant contribution of talent management practices to improving organizational performance through theoretical and conceptual approaches. The research method used is a qualitative literature study approach, namely through a systematic review of relevant literature on the strategies, processes, and implications of talent management. Data sources include scientific journals, books, and previous research reports discussing the theory and implementation of talent management in various types of organizations, both public and private sectors. The results of the study indicate that effective talent management—encompassing the process of identifying, developing, and retaining high-potential individuals—has a significant impact on increasing productivity, job satisfaction, and employee loyalty. Furthermore, talent management practices integrated with the organization's strategic objectives have been shown to encourage innovation, increase competitiveness, and strengthen the organization's adaptability to the dynamics of a complex business environment. The research findings also indicate that talent management functions not only operationally in managing human resources, but is also a strategic component that determines organizational sustainability. Thus, organizations that are able to implement talent management holistically and sustainably will be better prepared to face global challenges, while achieving competitive advantages that are oriented towards long-term performance.

Abstract

A brand is the identity and characteristic of a product, whether goods or services, that influences consumer decisions when choosing which product to use. Meanwhile, product quality refers to the consumer's evaluation of the advantages or special features of the product. In highly competitive markets like the smartphone industry, both brand and quality play crucial roles in attracting consumer attention. The smartphone market is currently filled with various brands competing for consumer attention, resulting in intense competition. According to data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), iPhone is one of the brands with a significant market share, demonstrating its ability to compete with other competitors. The success of the iPhone is not only driven by high product quality but also by its well-established brand image, which is widely recognized by consumers. However, competition in the smartphone market is not limited to big brands but also includes new manufacturers trying to capture consumer attention by offering various features and more affordable prices. The main issue in this research is the high level of competition in the smartphone category, indicating that this market is highly potential, with many consumers having multiple options. In this context, consumers are very selective and consider various factors, such as quality, price, and brand reputation, before making a purchasing decision. Therefore, smartphone manufacturers are required to be more meticulous in understanding consumer needs and desires. They must deliver innovative products that align with current trends and offer quality that meets consumer expectations. Manufacturers who can adapt to consumer preferences and maintain high product quality will have a significant opportunity to remain competitive and dominate the market in the increasingly competitive future.

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the effect of human needs based on Maslow’s hierarchy, consisting of Physiological Needs (X1), Security Needs (X2), Social Needs (X3), Esteem Needs (X4), and Self-Actualization Needs (X5), on the performance of Functional Officials (Y) at the Paser Regency Fire Department. The study applied a saturated sampling technique, where all 38 Functional Officials were included as respondents. Data analysis through multiple linear regression generated the equation Y = 1.219 + 0.567X1 + 0.001X2 + 0.706X3 – 0.178X4 – 0.126X5. The correlation coefficient (R) was 0.856, reflecting a very strong relationship between the independent variables and performance. Furthermore, the adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) was 0.691, showing that 69.1% of performance variation could be explained by the five independent variables, while 30.9% was determined by other unobserved factors. The results of simultaneous testing indicated that the calculated F-value (17.520) was greater than the table value (2.51) with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the conclusion that all variables together significantly affect performance. Partial testing further revealed that Physiological Needs (X1), Social Needs (X3), and Esteem Needs (X4) had a significant positive influence, while Security Needs (X2) and Self-Actualization Needs (X5) showed no significant impact. Among these, Social Needs (X3) demonstrated the most dominant role based on the highest t-value. These findings emphasize that fulfilling social, physiological, and esteem-related needs is crucial to enhancing the performance of Functional Officials, highlighting the importance of interpersonal relations, recognition, and basic support in improving work outcomes at the Paser Regency Fire Department.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of emotional intelligence, job stress, and job satisfaction on employee performance at the Limited Liability Company (PT) Nuansa Dharma Cipta Tanah Grogot. The sample in this study were all employees at PT. XYZ. The sampling technique used was total sampling, so the sample in this study was 33 employees of PT. XYZ. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained a regression equation, namely: Y = -8.074 + 0.875X1 + 0.092X2 + 0.152X3. The correlation coefficient (R) value is 0.965, which means a very strong correlation between emotional intelligence (X1), job stress (X2), and job satisfaction (X3) on employee performance (Y) at PT. XYZ. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2) of 0.925 or 92.5% indicates the significant contribution of Emotional Intelligence (X1), Job Stress (X2), and Job Satisfaction (X3) to Employee Performance (Y). The remaining 7.5% is explained by other variables not included in this study. The results of the simulants test (F test) show that the calculated F value > F table (131.862 > 2.93) so it can be concluded that together Emotional Intelligence (X1), Work Stress (X2), and Job Satisfaction (X3) have an effect on Employee Performance (Y) at PT. XYZ. Furthermore, a partial test was conducted by looking at the calculated t value of each variable consisting of Emotional Intelligence (X1), Job Stress (X2), and Job Satisfaction (X3) of 13.059, 3.370, and 5.178 respectively, which when compared with the t table of 2.04523, Emotional Intelligence (X1), Job Stress (X2), and Job Satisfaction (X3) have an individual effect on Employee Performance (Y) because the calculated t value > t table, then the Job Stress hypothesis (X2) is not proven to be dominant because the value of Emotional Intelligence (X1) is greater, which means that Emotional Intelligence (X1) has a dominant effect on Employee Performance (Y) at PT. XYZ.

Abstract

This study conducts a systematic literature review on the implementation of clustering and classification algorithms in data mining to identify methodological trends and contemporary challenges during the 2021-2025 period. The research methodology employs the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. Analysis was performed on eight relevant studies from IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, Springer, and ACM Digital Library databases. Narrative synthesis was used to comprehensively organize research findings. The results demonstrate the dominance of classification algorithms at 50%, with Random Forest achieving optimal accuracy of 98.35% through Particle Swarm Optimization. Clustering techniques demonstrate effectiveness in data segmentation, with K-means producing optimal configuration through Davies-Bouldin Index of 0.47. Application domains are diversified with the healthcare sector dominating 37.5% of implementations. Applications include diabetes prediction and COVID-19 epidemiological analysis. Hybrid approaches integrate various techniques for comprehensive knowledge extraction, particularly in social media user behavior analytics. Major challenges include computational complexity, methodological transparency deficiency in 66.67% of studies, and algorithm scalability limitations. Practical implications indicate a paradigm transformation in organizational decision-making from reliance on subjective intuition toward objective data-based formulation. Business intelligence technology penetration reaches 31.18% for dashboards and 10.75% for clustering techniques in small and medium enterprise ecosystems, marking substantial evolution in contemporary managerial practices.

Abstract

This research explores the significant role of discipline and work evaluation in improving employee performance at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. The primary objective is to analyze how the enforcement of workplace discipline and the implementation of systematic performance evaluations influence productivity, service quality, and overall operational success within the hospitality sector. Employing a quantitative research methodology, data were collected through structured questionnaires and supported by performance records. The results indicate that discipline serves as a foundation for consistency, punctuality, and adherence to established organizational standards, while regular and structured work evaluations offer constructive feedback, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide targeted development opportunities. The synergy between these two factors not only enhances individual employee performance but also contributes to a positive organizational culture and sustained service excellence. The study concludes that a well-balanced approach, combining firm disciplinary practices with continuous performance evaluation, is essential for fostering motivation, accountability, and long-term competitiveness in the hotel industry. Meanwhile, performance evaluations provide an ongoing feedback loop that allows management to identify areas for improvement and recognize top performers. By offering clear metrics and expectations, performance evaluations give employees the tools they need to improve and excel. The study also emphasizes the importance of a constructive evaluation approach that not only addresses shortcomings but also celebrates achievements, fostering a growth-oriented work environment. The synergy between these two factors not only enhances individual employee performance but also contributes to a positive organizational culture and sustained service excellence. When employees feel supported by regular evaluations and held accountable through discipline, they are more likely to take ownership of their roles and contribute to the hotel's long-term success.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low literacy interest of students at SMAN 8 Gowa which has an impact on low library utilization, as well as the continued use of a manual system in managing book borrowing and returns. This study aims to design and implement a web -based Library Book Borrowing and Return Information System and barcode scanning to improve service efficiency and student reading interest. The research methods used include observation, interviews, and literature studies, while the system development applies the Agile method. The system was tested using the blackbox method and compared book borrowing data before and after implementation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average book borrowing, from 0.77 books per day before the system was implemented to 3 books per day in June, and increased again to 7 books per day in July, with an overall percentage increase of 808.44%. The implementation of this system not only speeds up the administrative process and minimizes recording errors, but also proves to be able to encourage students' reading habits through the recommendation feature and book synopsis notifications. The barcode scanning feature, in particular, allows for faster and more accurate book tracking, making the borrowing process more convenient for students. The system’s user-friendly interface also contributes to its success, making it easier for students and library staff to manage transactions.

Abstract

The management of goods and vehicles assets in an institution requires an effective system so that the process of recording, tracking, and maintaining assets can be carried out in a structured and efficient manner. AMIK Luwuk Banggai still faces obstacles in remembering periodic service schedules and vehicle tax payments, because the reminder process is still carried out manually and relies on conventional records. This poses a risk of maintenance delays and administrative fines due to late tax payments. Therefore, this research is focused on the design and development of a web-based goods and vehicle asset management information system equipped with automatic notification features through Telegram Bot integration. The system development in this study uses the Waterfall approach which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Research data was obtained through interview methods with the management, observation of the running process, and literature review from various sources related to information systems and automatic notification technology. The system built utilizes mobile web technology to be easily accessible through mobile devices, as well as supporting work efficiency with a simple and responsive interface. The test results show that the system is able to provide real-time automatic notifications regarding maintenance service schedules and vehicle tax payment dues. Integration with Telegram Bot has proven to be effective in increasing the speed of information delivery, reducing the risk of delays, and giving users the flexibility to receive reminders on platforms that are familiar with everyday use. In addition, the implementation of the system also improves the overall efficiency of asset management because every asset information can be well documented, easily tracked, and integrated in a single platform.

Abstract

Correspondence administration is one of the vital aspects in supporting the effectiveness of communication, coordination, and documentation in the government environment. In the context of the Banggai Islands Police Department, the letter administration function has a strategic role because this institution is tasked with coordinating political affairs and fostering national insight which requires a fast, precise, and well-documented flow of information. However, facts in the field show that the mail administration process is still carried out manually, so it is prone to causing various problems. Some of the main obstacles that arise include the risk of losing documents, delays in distributing information, and difficulties in finding and searching for urgently needed mail archives. This condition has the potential to hinder the smooth running of services and reduce the quality of public administration governance. This research aims to design and build an integrated digital-based mail administration information system, in order to answer these challenges. The methodology used includes analyzing user needs, system design, application implementation, and testing stages to ensure system performance runs according to expectations. With the digitization of the mail administration process, it is hoped that it can increase efficiency in recording and distributing documents, speed up archive searches through structured databases, and present accurate and transparent reports. The results of this research are expected to be able to make a real contribution to bureaucratic modernization efforts, especially in the Banggai Islands Police Department. The information system developed not only simplifies document governance, but also supports the principles of accountability, transparency, and public services that are more responsive to the needs of the community. Thus, the implementation of this system is expected to be a strategic step in realizing a more professional and information technology-based government administration.

Abstract

Tracer study merupakan salah satu instrumen penting yang digunakan oleh perguruan tinggi untuk mengevaluasi kualitas lulusan serta mengukur relevansi kurikulum dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja. Melalui tracer study, institusi dapat memperoleh informasi mengenai profil alumni, keterlibatan mereka di dunia kerja, serta kesesuaian antara kompetensi yang diperoleh selama perkuliahan dengan tuntutan profesi yang dijalani. Namun, pelaksanaan tracer study secara manual masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti keterbatasan jangkauan responden, proses pengolahan data yang memakan waktu lama, serta kesulitan dalam penyusunan laporan yang terstruktur dan akurat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan Sistem Informasi Tracer Study berbasis web pada AMIK Luwuk Banggai yang diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi atas permasalahan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan model Waterfall, yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, dan pengujian. Sistem yang dibangun dirancang agar dapat mengelola data alumni secara terpusat, menyediakan fasilitas pengisian kuesioner tracer study secara daring, serta menghasilkan laporan dalam bentuk tabel maupun grafik yang interaktif. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu berjalan dengan baik, memberikan kemudahan bagi alumni dalam memberikan respon, serta mempermudah pihak kampus dalam memantau data tracer study secara real-time. Selain itu, integrasi data yang terpusat meminimalkan risiko kehilangan data serta meningkatkan efisiensi proses analisis. Dengan adanya sistem ini, pelaksanaan tracer study di AMIK Luwuk Banggai menjadi lebih efektif, efisien, dan akurat. Data yang dihasilkan tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk evaluasi internal, tetapi juga mendukung kebutuhan institusi dalam proses akreditasi program studi maupun akreditasi institusi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi tracer study merupakan langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas manajemen data alumni serta memperkuat daya saing perguruan tinggi.
