Abstract

UMKM plays an essential role in Indonesia’s economy but often faces challenges such as intense competition, limited resources, and a rapidly changing business environment. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors of the UMKM Banana Crunchy using the SWOT analysis approach. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, direct observations, and documentation. The findings show that Banana Crunchy’s main strengths lie in its unique product, favorable taste, and simple production process. Its primary weakness is the less strategic business location. Opportunities arise from the growing trend of modern snacks and the development of digital marketing, while threats come from numerous similar competitors and fluctuations in raw material prices. The recommended strategy is the S–T strategy, which focuses on utilizing product uniqueness to remain competitive.

Abstract

The development of community driven innovation plays an important role in supporting regional growth. However, the idea management process at Bappelitbang North Sumatra, which is still carried out manually, often results in inefficiencies in verification, evaluation, and idea tracking. This study aims to design and develop a web-based Digital Idea Box Information System as a solution to simplify the submission and management of community innovations. The system was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, which includes requirement analysis, system design using UML, implementation with PHP and MySQL, and system testing. The testing phase employed the black-box testing method to ensure that all system functions operated according to the specified requirements. The results show that the system successfully provides key features such as user registration, idea submission, status monitoring, admin verification, and report generation. Based on the test results, all features functioned properly without significant errors. Overall, this system improves the effectiveness, transparency, and speed of innovation management at Bappelitbang North Sumatra. In addition, it offers a more accessible platform for the public to share their creative ideas in an organized and convenient manner.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive era of globalization, companies worldwide face significant challenges in improving performance and productivity to remain competitive in the global market. One important factor influencing employee performance and productivity is leadership style. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style on employee job satisfaction at a manufacturing company in Surabaya. The research method used a quantitative approach with primary data collected through questionnaires completed by respondents at a manufacturing company in Surabaya. The results showed that the majority of respondents were satisfied with their jobs at the manufacturing company, with a preference for democratic and transformational leadership styles. These leadership styles are considered capable of improving communication, a sense of fairness, and employee career development. Although job satisfaction was achieved, the results also revealed room for improvement, particularly in aspects of more open communication, fairness in performance appraisals, and overall company development. Therefore, companies are advised to pay attention to these aspects to improve employee satisfaction and performance.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the integration of Shopee's Live Shopping feature on customer retention and the increase in sales volume for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with engagement rate as a mediating variable. The approach used is quantitative associative with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis. Data was collected from 100 active MSME sellers on the Shopee Live platform through an online questionnaire. The results show that the live shopping feature significantly enhances customer engagement through real-time interactions, which in turn contributes to increased customer retention rates and sales volume. The engagement rate, measured through the comment-to-view ratio, share ratio, and average watch duration, plays an important role as a mediator in this relationship. This study contributes to the growing literature on live commerce by providing empirical evidence from Indonesia's e-commerce ecosystem. Furthermore, the study offers practical insights for MSMEs to optimize their digital marketing strategies, particularly in the context of interactive social commerce in today's digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing need for efficient, flexible, and relatively low-cost accounting systems among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Cloud-based accounting is seen as being able to help SMEs improve accuracy, reporting speed, and financial decision-making. However, its utilization rate remains suboptimal. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions on the intention to use cloud-based accounting in SMEs using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework. This study employed a quantitative approach with primary data collected through questionnaires from SMEs using cloud-based accounting. This data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the measurement and structural models.The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence have a significant positive effect on the intention to use cloud-based accounting, while facilitating conditions have a positive but not always significant effect on the intention to use. Therefore, the main variables driving intention to use are belief in the benefits, ease of use, and social support. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developers and providers of cloud-based accounting services to improve features that support performance, clarify ease of use, and utilize social outreach and social recommendation strategies, while policy makers and business associations need to provide training and infrastructure support so that the adoption of cloud-based accounting in SMEs can increase.

Abstract

Drug sales and inventory management at Madani Pharmacy still relies on manual processes, potentially leading to recording errors, inefficient stock management, and limitations in obtaining analytical insights to support decision-making. This study aims to implement the V-Model in the development of a Drug Sales and Inventory Management Information System (SIMPIO). The system analysis and design stages are modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including use case, activity, class, and sequence diagrams to systematically describe actors, process flows, data structures, and interactions between modules. SIMPIO is integrated with Business Intelligence (BI) to provide real-time data visualization in the form of stock reports, sales trends, and drug demand predictions through an interactive dashboard. System testing was conducted using the blackbox method. The results showed that the system runs effectively with a user satisfaction level reaching 90%, increasing inventory accuracy by up to 95%, accelerating transaction times, and optimizing operations and managerial decision-making at Madani Pharmacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the marketing communication strategy through Instagram implemented by Connection 88 Café Medan. The background of this study is a decrease in the number of visitors which is suspected to be caused by a marketing strategy that is not optimal. Problems found include a lack of interaction with consumers on Instagram, such as rarely reposting customer Insta Stories, an unattractive feed display, inconsistency in uploading content every day, and not using influencer marketing as a promotional tool. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Informants in this study numbered fifteen people, consisting of one owner, one manager, and thirteen consumers of Connection 88 Café Medan. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out inductively to gain a deep understanding of the marketing communication strategy implemented. The results of the study indicate that the use of Instagram as a marketing medium is considered quite effective because it is able to increase brand awareness, expand the reach of information, and encourage an increase in the number of consumers visiting Connection 88 Café Medan in a sustainable manner and support the achievement of culinary business marketing goals.

Abstract

Large-scale infrastructure development, such as the Dhoho Kediri Airport project, plays a strategic role in promoting regional economic growth, but it also poses environmental risks that may affect the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Changes in the physical and operational environment resulting from construction activities can influence market access, distribution channels, and business location certainty, which in turn affect MSMEs’ marketing strategies. This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental risks arising from the Dhoho Kediri Airport project on the marketing strategies of MSMEs in the affected areas. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design and a causal associative method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 76 MSME owners selected using purposive sampling in the sub-districts of Tarokan, Grogol, and Banyakan, Kediri Regency. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that, partially, environmental pollution, access and distribution disruptions, and business location uncertainty have a positive and significant effect on MSMEs’ marketing strategies. Simultaneously, these environmental risk variables significantly influence marketing strategies, explaining 61.1 percent of the variation in MSMEs’ marketing strategies. The findings suggest that environmental risks from infrastructure projects not only create challenges for MSMEs but also encourage business owners to adapt by adjusting distribution channels, utilizing digital marketing, and redefining market segmentation. The study highlights the importance of local government policy support in the form of marketing assistance, alternative logistics facilitation, and business location certainty to strengthen MSME resilience in areas surrounding strategic infrastructure projects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the operational management practices of modern and traditional coffee shop MSMEs in responding to increasing business competition and operational cost pressures. The research gap lies in the limited comparative studies examining how key operational practices—particularly cost control, quality consistency, and operational flexibility—are applied by modern and traditional coffee shops. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using in-depth interviews with managers of modern coffee shops and traditional coffee stalls in Pangkalpinang City. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic coding, and interpretative analysis, focusing on operations management and management accounting perspectives. The findings show that modern coffee shops implement adaptive operational practices by emphasizing product and service quality control, operational flexibility in responding to changing customer demand, and the use of social media as part of operational activities. Traditional coffee shops prioritize operational efficiency through price stability, consistency in production processes, and experience-based cost control developed through long-standing business practices. Although financial recording systems remain relatively simple, both types of businesses demonstrate the ability to sustain operational performance by aligning operational strategies with market characteristics and resource limitations. Context-based operations management approaches in strengthening the resilience of coffee shop MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop hypotheses related to factors that influence business management, especially in the air transportation sector. The approach used in this literature review study is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique is to use literature studies or review relevant previous articles published in the period 2020-2025. The technique used in this literature review is Comparative Analysis. The data used in this descriptive qualitative approach comes from previous studies relevant to this study and sourced from academic online media such as Thomson Reuters Journal, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Scopus Q2-Q4 Emerald, Elsevier, Sage, Web of Science, Sinta 2-5 Journal, DOAJ, EBSCO, Google Scholar, Copernicus, and digital reference books. The results of this literature review are: 1) Investment affects the business management of companies in the air transportation sector; 2) Services affect the business management of companies in the air transportation sector; 3) Marketing management affects the business management of companies in the air transportation sector; and 4) Promotion affects the business management of companies in the air transportation sector.
