Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has opened up new opportunities in the world of education, especially in supporting a more interactive and effective learning process. One of the AI technologies that is currently widely used is ChatGPT, a generative language model that can be used to help teachers and students understand material, answer questions, and compile assignments and teaching materials. However, the use of this technology at the Senior High School (SMA) and Vocational High School (SMK) levels, especially in Information Technology subjects, is still very limited. This community service activity aims to provide training on the use of ChatGPT in the Information Technology learning process in SMA/SMK schools. The methods used include delivering material, demonstrating the use of ChatGPT, and direct practice by teachers and students. The training focused on how ChatGPT can be used to understand basic ICT concepts, help compile simple programs, and as a tool in digital learning. The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in utilizing ChatGPT productively and ethically in learning. In addition, this training also encourages the creation of more innovative and adaptive learning to technological developments. Thus, this training is expected to be the first step in integrating artificial intelligence into the education curriculum, especially in the field of Information Technology.

Abstract

Desa Palopo merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Marisa, Provinsi Pohuwato, Provinsi Gorontalo. Salah satu kegiatan yang memiliki prospek untuk dikembangkan di Desa Palopo adalah kegiatan perikanan, pembenihan ikan, budidaya ikan, dan pengolahan ikan. Pengetahuan tentang perikanan, khususnya budidaya ikan masih cukup rendah, ditambah dengan penggunaan alat produksi yang masih sangat konvensional dan ketergantungan terhadap alam menjadi permasalahan kelompok pembudidaya ikan. Minimnya pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan teknologi dalam budidaya, terutama dalam mengantisipasi kelangkaan sumber daya air sebagai media budidaya sangat kurang sehingga menyebabkan kegiatan produksinya tidak berjalan secara kontinyu. sehingganya, perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk memberikan solusi penerapan teknologi guna mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa kegiatan budidaya ikan dengan menggunakan kolam terpal sebagai wadah budidaya dapat menjadi salah satu solusi. Metode pendidikan masyarakat, konsultasi, dan pendampingan merupakan tiga metode yang paling efektif untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan di desa. Manfaat dari kegiatan yang telah dilakukan adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru terkait pembuatan kolam terpal sebagai media budidaya ikan.

Abstract

This community service project focuses on enhancing the potential of Pantai Indah Pohe, a prominent tourist destination in Gorontalo, through the creation of effective location signage. Despite its natural beauty, the lack of clear, informative signage has hindered the area's accessibility and awareness among visitors. The objective of this project is to design and implement location markers that not only guide tourists but also promote sustainable tourism practices. The rationale behind this initiative stems from the growing demand for tourism infrastructure that supports both local community development and environmental conservation. The project involves collaboration between the local government, community groups, and the Universitas Negeri Gorontalo's Building Architecture Department. The method used is a combination of field observation, community engagement, and practical design solutions, ensuring that the signage aligns with the local culture and environment. The results of the project include the successful installation of durable, environmentally friendly signage and an increase in local tourism awareness. This initiative contributes to the sustainable development of tourism in the area, fostering both economic growth and environmental preservation, while also strengthening community participation in the preservation of local heritage and natural resources.

Abstract

Waste management has become one of the major environmental challenges in coastal and rural areas, especially in remote regions. This community service activity aims to increase environmental awareness among children in Patoa Village through ecobrick training. Ecobrick is a method of reusing plastic waste by compressing it into plastic bottles to be used as a building material. The training was conducted in several stages: problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Children were involved directly in collecting plastic waste, learning about waste segregation, and practicing making ecobricks. The results showed that ecobrick training was effective in increasing children’s understanding of the plastic waste problem, fostering creativity, and encouraging active participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness. This activity also served as a form of early environmental education that could be replicated in other rural communities.

Abstract

This community engagement initiative aims to develop a collaborative model for facilitating the formulation of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) as part of medium-term development planning. The approach combines participatory methods, document analysis, and multi-stakeholder consultation forums to ensure the integration of sustainable development principles into local policy and program frameworks. The facilitation process includes strategic issue mapping, gap analysis of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators, and the formulation of data-driven alternative development scenarios. The role of academic facilitators has proven vital in enabling cross-sectoral dialogue, improving planning literacy, and strengthening institutional capacity for evidence-based decision-making. This article reflects on the application of a collaborative methodological approach to enhance inclusive and sustainable governance in local development contexts..
