Abstract

The research titled "Multireligious Culture for the Development of Tolerance Character at SD Negeri Kasihan Yogyakarta" is based on the idealism of the school as a safe space that facilitates interfaith interactions. However, the reality shows instances of bullying against Catholic students, the marginalization of Hindu students, and the feeling of being marginalized among non-Muslim teachers due to the lack of multireligious interaction. This condition encourages the school to initiate a multireligious culture as a strategy to strengthen the character of tolerance. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to describe the implementation of a multireligious culture, the profile of the school's tolerance character, and its contribution to the development of student tolerance. Data were collected thru observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with informants selected thru purposive sampling, including the principal, teachers, and students of Islamic, Catholic, and Hindu faiths. Data analysis was conducted thru reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity testing using source and technique triangulation. The research results show that: 1) multireligious culture is understood as a system of values, beliefs, and social practices based on three layers of culture (basic assumptions, adopted values, and artifacts) that emphasize harmony and non-discrimination; 2) the character of tolerance is reflected thru six indicators: recognition of differences, mutual respect, freedom of belief, coexistence, self-control, and justice; 3) the contribution of multireligious culture to the development of the character of tolerance occurs systematically thru three layers of culture. First, artifacts in the form of symbols of love and joint activities among followers of different religions; second, the values upheld, namely mutual respect, harmony, and justice, are instilled thru vision & mission, regulations, and exemplary behavior; third, the underlying assumptions of the school community are the belief that diverse religions are a natural reality and the belief that human relationships are inclusive, egalitarian, and collaborative.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the reinforcement of positive emotions in the perspective of Islamic educational psychology and its implications for students' enthusiasm for learning. The background of this study rests on the gap between the dominant cognitive learning approach and the lack of attention to the affective and spiritual dimensions of students. This research uses a qualitative approach of case study type, with the location at SMA Negeri 1 Banguntapan Yogyakarta which has strong potential in the integration of Islamic values in learning activities. Data were obtained through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results show that positive emotions such as gratitude, patience, and enthusiasm for learning emerge in a supportive classroom atmosphere, empathic teacher-student interactions, and routine Islamic activities at school. The role of teachers is very important in fostering positive emotions through exemplary, Islamic motivation, and the use of verses/hadith in learning. The findings show that the Islamic educational psychology approach is not only relevant but also effective in shaping students' emotional resilience and learning motivation. This research contributes to the development of a holistic education model and offers learning strategies that touch the minds, hearts and spirituality of students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the feasibility and effectiveness of a visual thinking-based learning strategy using digital infographics in teaching Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) of prayer to second-grade elementary school students. The research was motivated by the limited ability of students to perform prayer movements sequentially and accurately, indicating a gap between memorization and procedural understanding. This study employed a mixed methods approach with Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects were second-grade students. Data were collected through needs analysis interviews, classroom observations, expert validation questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The developed product was validated by material and media experts to ensure content accuracy, visual clarity, and pedagogical appropriateness. The validation results indicated that the digital infographic media met the criteria of high feasibility. The effectiveness test demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as reflected in the gain score analysis between pretest and posttest results. The visual thinking strategy facilitated students’ comprehension by presenting prayer concepts in structured visual sequences, enabling better retention and procedural understanding. The integration of visual representation and digital media supports cognitive development at the concrete operational stage and enhances student engagement in religious learning. Therefore, the implementation of visual thinking through digital infographics can serve as an innovative and effective alternative strategy in Islamic religious education at the elementary school level, particularly in improving students’ practical understanding of prayer

Abstract

This research aims to develop a conceptual model of the integration of Canva-based moral education media and an in-depth learning approach in strengthening the learning climate in elementary schools. The research uses a qualitative approach of the type of library research which is presented in the form of a conceptual study. Data is sourced from articles from accredited national journals and reputable international journals published in 2015–2025, as well as theoretical literature related to character education, digital media, deep learning, and learning climate. The analysis is carried out through descriptive-analytical techniques and content analysis to identify core concepts, examine the theoretical relationships between variables, and formulate an integrative framework. The synthesis results show that Canva functions as a visual-reflective medium that concretizes moral values through experiential digital projects, while the deep learning approach encourages exploration, reflection, and personal meaning of value. A supportive learning climate acts as a psychosocial context that mediates student engagement and internalization of values. The integration of these three components forms a conceptual model that connects digital media, reflective pedagogical strategies, and classroom climate in support of sustainable character building. Theoretically, this study expands the theory of multimedia learning and meaningful learning within the framework of value-based moral education and provides a foundation for further empirical research. Thus, Canva's integration and deep learning within the framework of the learning climate provides a relevant conceptual model for strengthening moral education in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the management function of Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) in the management of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) program and its contribution to strengthening the character of progressive Islamic values-based students at SMA Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Research on religious-based student organizations has tended to focus on ideological regeneration and religious activities, while studies that integrate modern management functions with the formation of student character are still relatively limited. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research informants amounted to nine people consisting of the principal, vice principal for student affairs, HDI coaches, administrators, and members of the HDI who were selected purposively. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with validity tests through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The results of the study show that HDI management has implemented the POAC management function systematically through participatory planning, formal organizational structures, implementation of value-based programs, and continuous reflective evaluation. The findings of the research resulted in a values-based student organizational management model that integrates modern management principles with progressive Islamic values in strengthening the humanist character of students. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of the concept of value-based educational management, especially in the management of religious-based student organizations. Practically, this study provides a reference for schools in managing student organizations as a medium for fostering leadership and character.
