Abstract

Heat strain is the body's physiological response to heat stress received by a person. This research is a type of quantitative research with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique in this study was random sampling with a total sample of 80 respondents. They are collecting data using questionnaires and interviews. Methods of data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-square test at 95% confidence level (p=0.05). The results showed a significant relationship between drinking water consumption and the heat strain factor (p=0.001); there was no relationship between the length of work and the heat strain factor (p=0.455) for workers in the production division at PT. IKI (Persero) 2023. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the variable consumption of drinking water and the heat strain factor, and there is no relationship between the length of work and the heat strain factor in workers in the production division of PT. IKI (Persero). Suggested: There is a need for special attention from the agency on the importance of controlling heat stress to reduce the risk of occupational diseases in production workers at PT. IKI (Persero).

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem due to a lack of nutritional intake in the long term, resulting in impaired growth in children. Stunting is also one of the causes of stunted children's height, so it is lower than children their age. This study aims to determine the socioeconomic level of stunting mothers. The quantitative research design of this study sample was 27 stunting mothers, and the sampling method used total sampling. This type of research uses a descriptive method by collecting information from respondents by asking several survey questions. The results in this study are that the majority of stunting mothers are aged 20-29 years, as many as 19 people (70.4%), the majority of stunting baduta mothers' education is SMK (51.9%), the majority of stunting baduta mothers' jobs are IRT as many as 25 people (92.6%). It can be concluded that a mother's educational history affects children's growth and development, family income influences the incidence of stunting, and a mother's work involves the occurrence of stunting in children. It is expected that mothers need to increase knowledge about nutritional status in feeding children

Abstract

Introduction: According to the International Labor Organization, almost every year, there are 1000 times the number of non-fatal work accidents compared to fatal ones. To the income generated by workers. Purpose: This study determined the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes with the adherence to using personal protective equipment (PPE) for cleaners at the Environmental Office of Baubau City. Methods: This research is an analytic design with a cross-sectional study approach. The population and sample are all Baubau City Environmental Service cleaning workers, totalling 107 respondents using total sampling. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire, with chi-square data analysis. Results: research using the chi-square test shows that there is a relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.000 <0.05) and Attitude (p-value = 0.000 <0.05) with Compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for cleaning workers in Baubau City Environmental Service. Conclusion: there is knowledge about Compliance with using personal protective equipment (PPE) for cleaning staff at the Baubau City Environmental Service. There is a relationship between Attitude and Compliance with using personal protective equipment (PPE) for cleaning workers at the Baubau City Environmental Service.

Communication in nursing is called therapeutic communication, which is a way of fostering a therapeutic relationship between nurses and patients that has the aim of helping in the patient's healing process. This study aims to determine therapeutic communication skills for nursing students in clinical practice. The type and design used in this study is quantitative research. Fisher's Exact Test results obtained p-value (0.000) < α value (0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge and therapeutic communication skills in the clinical practice of nursing students. Therapeutic knowledge and communication skills are essential in the clinical practice of student nursing. Medicinal communication knowledge and skills are critical elements in a student's nursing clinical practice. This is at the core of effective and empathetic patient care

Abstract

Nosocomial infections significantly affect the patient's health and can increase morbidity and mortality. The incidence of nosocomial diseases is still widely found, and nurse compliance in preventing and controlling infections is a significant factor in preventing nosocomial infections. The study aims to analyze the determinants of nurses on the incidence of nosocomial diseases. The study used qualitative methods with total sampling techniques. The results of statistical tests were obtained on the variables sex value p = 0.256, age value p = 1.000, nutritional status p = 0.710, and invasive action p = 1.000. It can be concluded that there is no influence of intrinsic factors (age, sex, and nutritional status) on nosocomial infections, and extrinsic factors that significantly affect the occurrence of nosocomial diseases are antibiotics. While what has no effect is the use of invasive measures. This needs serious attention from nurses because prevention of nosocomial infections will be beneficial in reducing the morbidity rate that occurs in hospitals. Prevention of nosocomial diseases in hospitals can be done by minimizing the administration of invasive measures, especially in patients, increasing special attention to patients who receive invasive procedures, and increasing personal hygiene efforts.

Abstract

Introduction; The musculoskeletal system, which greatly affects the balance of the elderly body and can cause mobility disorders, is one of the declines experienced by the elderly. Physical exercise in the form of muscle strengthening and balance exercises is an effective way for the elderly to improve their functional abilities. Purpose; This study is to determine how providing Balance and Strength Tele-Exercie (BAST) affects changes in lower extremity muscle strength and functional mobility in the elderly. Method; This is an experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design method. A total of 15 people aged 60-75 were analyzed using a purposive sampling technique. The 30s Chairs Stand Test, Functional Reach Test, and Time Up and Test were used to retrieve research data. Result; A significant value was obtained based on the bivariate analysis results. The muscle strength variable has a sign value of 0.005, the dynamic balance variable has a sign value of 0.003, and the functional mobility variable has a value of 0.001. Conclusion: This BAST program improves leg muscle strength and functional mobility in the elderly.
