Abstract

This research is motivated by the low social-emotional abilities of children in Group A at TK Pelita Harapan, as indicated by difficulties in sharing, cooperating, and managing emotions appropriately. The purpose of this study is to improve children's social-emotional abilities through gardening activities. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model implemented in two cycles. The research subjects were 15 children in Group A at TK Pelita Harapan. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and field notes. The results showed a significant improvement in children's social-emotional abilities. In the initial condition (pre-cycle), children's social-emotional abilities only reached 33.33% in the Developing as Expected (BSH) category. In Cycle I, it increased to 60.00%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 86.67%. Gardening activities have been proven to develop aspects of patience, responsibility, cooperation, empathy, and self-control through meaningful direct experiences. Thus, gardening activities can serve as an effective alternative learning method to improve social-emotional abilities in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in strengthening the character of ninth-grade female students (santriwati) at SMP Islam Sabilul Wafa in the digital era. The background of this research is based on the rapid development of information technology, which brings both positive impacts and challenges to students' character formation, particularly in moral and religious aspects. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of five female students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation, while data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that PAI plays a significant role in strengthening students' character, especially in terms of religiosity, discipline, and responsibility. In the digital era, PAI also functions as a moral foundation that helps students filter information and use technology wisely. Supporting factors include a religious school environment and the role of teachers as role models, while inhibiting factors come from technological influences and external environments.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of student participation in learning the Qur'an in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects in class VII at A MTs Daarul Ihsaan Cimahi. This condition is indicated by the lack of student activeness in reading, asking questions, and interacting during the learning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of the peer tutoring method and to determine the improvement of student participation in learning the Qur'an. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were seventh-grade students of MTs Daarul Ihsaan Cimahi, totaling 28 students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the peer tutoring method significantly improved student participation in learning the Qur'an, as indicated by increased student activeness in reading, asking questions, discussing, and engaging in group activities. In Cycle I, student participation reached 62%, and in Cycle II it increased to 85%, exceeding the predetermined success indicator of 75%. Therefore, the peer tutoring method can be an effective alternative in improving the quality of PAI learning, especially in Qur'anic learning.

Abstract

The learning of kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts) in Islamic boarding schools plays an important role in shaping students’ character. The ta’lim approach not only emphasizes the transfer of knowledge but also instills moral values, discipline, and spirituality. This article aims to analyze the strategy of ta’lim-based learning of kitab kuning in shaping students’ character by examining relevant academic sources. The method used is a literature study with content analysis of sources taken from Islamic education journals. The results show that strategies such as bandongan, sorogan, and the habituation of proper conduct significantly influence the development of students’ religious character. In addition, several spelling errors were found in the analyzed sources, indicating the need for improvement in academic writing.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of learning methods in creating joyful learning within Islamic Cultural History (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam – SKI) instruction. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through structured observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and eight selected students, student perception questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale, and learning documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and method triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that the implemented learning methods encouraged active student engagement, generated positive emotional responses, strengthened reflection on character values, and enhanced students’ ability to connect historical figures and events in Islamic history with their personal experiences. Students’ enthusiasm increased significantly from 48% to 85%, as indicated by observational data. These findings suggest that Islamic Cultural History learning can be developed not merely as a process of historical knowledge transmission but also as a space for character development and spiritual reflection. This approach aligns with the transformative principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and supports the broader goal of providing quality education.

Abstract

This study aims to definitively formulate and comprehensively evaluate the role of Murobbi (close mentors/dormitory supervisors) in instilling adab (Islamic etiquette and morality) among students at Pesantren Subang. Amidst the rapid waves of modernization and digitalization that trigger various moral degradation phenomena among the younger generation, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) consistently uphold the universal principle of prioritizing adab before knowledge. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method, this study positions the author as the primary instrument conducting direct participatory observations and intensive in-depth interviews with the Murobbi board and students at Pesantren Subang. The results indicate that the Murobbi plays a pivotal role transforming into three strategic functions: as Uswah Hasanah (a conceptual living role model), an embedded mentor (through psychological-spiritual approaches), and a dynamic daily behavior evaluator. The integration of this strategy is empirically proven to significantly improve the quality of students' adab towards teachers, peers, and the environment. This study concludes that strengthening the function of close mentors (Murobbi) is an absolute prerequisite for the successful internalisation of character values and moral revitalization in contemporary Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The limited involvement of fathers in children’s religious education remains a significant concern, particularly in the development of Qur’anic recitation (tahsin) skills. This study aims to examine the role of fathers as spiritual models in supporting tahsin Al-Qur’an learning among Grade IX J students at SMPN 2 Katapang, Bandung Regency. The research was conducted from January to March 2026 using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2020). The findings indicate that the father’s role is reflected in three main patterns: exemplary behavior (modeling), active accompaniment (guidance), and consistent habituation in daily religious practices. The study concludes that fathers as spiritual role models play a significant role in enhancing the quality and consistency of students’ tahsin Al-Qur’an learning, both in school and at home.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intellegent (AI) has fundamentally transformed various dimensions of contemporary human life, including economics, education, communication, and religious practices. While AI provides unprecedented oppurtunities for efficiency, innovation and knowledge production, it also raises profound philosophical and spiritual conserns regarding the nature of humanity, meaning, and transcendence. This article examines the implication of AI development through the lens of perennial philoshophy, particularly the ideas of Rene Guenon, Frithjof Schuoen, and Seyyed Hossein Nasr. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes classical perennial text alongside contemporary literature on AI, digital culture, and spirituality. The findings reveal that AI represent the culmination of modern rationality and contributes to the increasing desacralitzation of human consciousness. The emergence of algorithmic  society, digital spirituality, and transhumanist discourse reflects a broader crisis of meaning rooted in the separation of knowledge from trancendent reality. From a perennial perspective, the challenge posed by AI is not merely technological but fundamentally metaphysical and spiritual. The study argues that the future of humanity depends on the integration of technological innovation with spiritual wisdom. Perennial philosophy offers an alternative frame work reconstructing spirituality in the digital age by reaffirming the secred dimension of knowledge, strengthening contemplative practices, and promoting a value-based ethics of technology. Ultimately, AI should serve humanity's spiritual flourishing rather than become the dominant orientation of civilization.

Abstract

This research aims to examine contemporary issues that become obstacles in the implementation of multicultural-based Islamic education and formulate its development strategies in the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with the literature study method, namely analysing various journals and relevant scientific sources without directly involving field samples. The research results show that there are several main obstacles, namely the gap between the ideal values of Islamic teachings and learning practises, the emergence of religious exclusivity, the influence of radicalism and intolerance, and the impact of uncontrolled digital information flow such as the echo chamber phenomenon. In addition, the curriculum that is still cognitively oriented and the limited competence of teachers in applying a multicultural approach also strengthens the problem. Social environment factors also affect the formation of students' mindsets in addressing diversity. Therefore, a comprehensive development strategy is needed, including strengthening the multicultural-based curriculum, implementing dialogue learning, improving digital literacy, developing teacher competence, and creating an inclusive education environment. This research recommends that Islamic education should be more adaptive, contextual, and integrative in facing the challenges of the digital era in order to form students who are inclusive, tolerant, and able to live harmoniously in a multicultural society.
