Abstract

Guna mengetahui struktur dan komposisi vegetasi hutan di Taman NasionalLore Lindu Sulawesi Tengah telah di laksanakan pada bulan Mei 2002. Studi dilakukan di 2 lokasi yakni desa Salua (0,5 ha pada 550-640 m dpl.),kabupaten Donggala, and desa Kaduwaa (0,5 ha pada 1100-1150 m dpl),kabupaten Poso. Penelitian dengan “Quadrate-methode” ini mengungkapkan bahwa vegetasi hutan di Salua memiliki jumlah pohon, spesies, jenis dan famili lebih besar daripada di Kaduwaa; namun demikian kepadatan di Salua lebih rendah daripada di Kaduwaa. Vegetasi tersebut di Salua didominasi oleh Palaquium obtusifolium, Toona sureni, Pterospermum celebicum, dan Canarium hirsutum; sedangkan di Kaduwaa oleh Santiria laevigata, Ficus sp., Cryptocarya tomentosa, Semecarpus longifolia, dan Syzygium operculata. Selanjutnya penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa komposisi vegetasi pohon di Salua dan Kaduwaa adalah berbeda, tetapi memiliki struktur yang relative sama. Dan akhirnya diungkapkan bahwa komunitas tumbuhan di dua lokasi penelitian adalah berbeda (Indeks kesamaan Sorensen 19).

Abstract

The objective of this research was to obtain the best dosage of using EM-4 in sugarcane waste. This research was done in two processes. First process was fermentation ofsugar cane waste within 9 days in “Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak” Laboratory at SriwijayaUniversity. Second process was analyzed the nutritive value of sugar cane waste, inLaboratory of ruminant and chemical feed at Faculty of Animal Husbandry, PadjajaranUniversity, Bandung.A Complete Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications was carriedout. The experimental diets were : E0 (control), E1 (waste of sugar cane + 7,5ml EM-4),E2 (waste of sugar cane + 15ml EM-4), E3 (waste of sugar cane + 22,5ml EM-4).Each treatment was added with rice straw 20% of dried weight sugar cane waste. Theparameters measured were dry matter, crude fiber, crude protein, NFE and crude fat.The results of this research showed that the treatment improved significantly to drymatter, crude fiber, crude protein, NFE and crude fat. The conclusi-on of the researchwas treatment by addition EM-4 15ml give the best result in all treatments.

Abstract

Duriangkang Reservoir including the estuary resevoir is built by makingresevoir at the estuary of Duriangkang River. The main function ofDuriangkang Reservoir is the raw water resources to support 78 % ofdrinking wate supply needs on Batam Island. One of several problem ofDuriangkang eservoir is erosion as a result of land clearing and building ofland at Duriangkang Catchment area. Based on the research,sedimentation rate at Duriangkang Catchment area system is as themayor sources that potentially influence the carrying capacity ofDuriangkang Reservoir.In this study, an influence to carrying capacity ofDuriangkang Reservoir is conducted toward sedimentation rate atDuriangkang Reservoir by measuring the water column depth ofDuriangkang Reservoir.

Abstract

Saat ini untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik pemerintah mencanangkan program pembangunan pembangkit listrik 10.000 MW. Salah satu implementasinya dengan membangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) berbahan bakar batubara seperti PLTU Kuala Tungkal di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, Propinsi Jambi. Permasalahan utama kegiatan PLTU adalah suhu air buangan yang jauh lebih tinggi dari suhu perairan di sekitarnya. Kenaikan suhu ini selain akan mengurangi efisiensi sistem pendinginan juga dapat membahayakan kehidupan aquatik. Untuk meminimalkan dampak perlu dilakukan pemodelan adveksi/dispersi panas sebelum dilakukan pembangunan PLTU. Dengan pemodelan ini akan diketahui sebaran panas buangan PLTU secara 3-dimensi, sehingga sejak awal dapat dilakukan upaya-upaya untuk mengurangi dampak negatif yang muncul. Selain itu model ini dapat dipakai sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam penentuan lokasi intake dan outfall sistem air pendingin. Studi ini dilakukan dalam beberapa skenario dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak MIKE 3. Berdasarkan hasil pemodelan diketahui bahwa resirkulasi air pendingin dengan intensitas cukup kecil (<0,3 oC) diprediksi dapat terjadi pada saat air pasang menjadi lebih parah bila debit sungai dari hulu berkurang. Sebaran air bahang dengan perbedaan temperatur terhadap suhu air ambien (ΔT) > 2 oC, hanya terjadi pada daerah yang sangat terbatas, yaitu maksimum sekitar 45 m ke arah timur dari lokasi outfall.

Abstract

Water pollution in the big cities in Indonesia has shown serious problems. One of the potential sources of water pollution is domestic wastewater that is wastewater from kitchens, laundry, bathing and toilets. These problems have become more serious since the spreads of sewerage systems are still low, so that domestic, institutional and commercial wastewater cause severe water pollution in many rivers or water body. This paper describes alternative technology for treatment of wastewater or organic wastewater using submerged biofilter. Using anaerobic and aerobic submerged biofilter within total one day residence time can decrease BOD, COD and Suspended Solids (SS) concentration more than 90 %.

Abstract

A study on the structure and composition of trees species was carried out in Cikepuh Game Reserve. The informations and data on forest ecosystems of Cikepuh Game Reserve was still very limited. Method of study used point centered quarter. The results of study recorded total species number was 55 species of trees consisted of 35 genera and 26 families, while saplings (Belta) recorded was 51 species consisted of 34 genera and 23 families.The common species of trees in the area were Vitex pinnata (Important Value = 53.37%), Alseodaphne cunneata (IV = 44.12%), Aporosa microcalyx (IV =25.88%) and Helicia robusta (IV = 24.38% ), while saplings were Vitex pinnata (IV =27.82%), Dillenia aurea (IV = 27.11%), Microcos tomentosa (IV = 25.72%), Aporosa microcalyx (IV = 23.10%) and Phyllanthus emblica (IV = 21.62%).Key words : structure, composition, trees species, Cikepuh Game Reserve

Abstract

As a result of population pressure, deforestation in Java has increasedconsiderably that causes an increase on critical land. The situation is worsened by increasing of kerosene and diesel prices that causes to an increase on fuelwood utilization that would lead to increase of illegal cutting. The increase of critical land could lead to increase of soil erosion, landslide, and flood as a result of a reduction in water absorption and soil retention. The Department of Forestry has initiated a reforestation program to ameliorate the situation. However, as the limited budget, the economics of the program needs to be examined further. Based on benefit-cost ratios, economic contributions of the fuelwood component indicated that the reforestation program or energy plantation was economically unfeasible. However, by including benefits of soil erosion control the program waseconomically attractive on some sites. A methodology was developed to prioritize which critical land to reforest. This was applied by identifying market price of fuelwood at minimum yield that would justify an energy plantation investment. The method indicated that subject to budget availability, critical lands should be reforested in descending order of productive potential until the site of minimum yields is reached.

Abstract

Kajian pemodelan pemulihan air tanah ini bertujuan untuk memperolah gambaran kemungkinan mengurangi kesulitan pasokan air dimusim kemarau dengan menginjeksikan secara artificial air hujan yang berlimpah pada musim penghujan ke dalam akuifer air tanah dangkal di Kecamatan Panimbang, Cigeulis, Munjul danPagelaran, Kabupaten Pandeglang, Hasil pemodelan pemulihan air tanah dangkal di empat Kecamatan tersebut memberikan gambaran bahwa : (a) program pemulihan air tanah dangkal dapat dilakukan dengan memasukkan kembali air hujan melalui sumur, (b) dari segi pemanfaatan air, pengembalian air hujan kedalam tanah dapat menjadikan ketersediaan air tanah menjadi meningkat. Kata kunci : pemulihan air tanah, injeksi air secara artifisial. AbstractRecovery of groundwater modeling study aims to gain an overview possibility of reducing the dry season water supply difficulties by artificially injecting abundant rain water during the rainy season into the shallow groundwater aquifers in the District of Panimbang, Cigeulis, Munjul and Pagelaran of Pandeglang Regency, The results ofmodeling the recovery of shallow ground water in the four district is the idea that: (a) shallow groundwater recovery program can be done by incorporating rainwater back through wells, (b) in terms of water use, return of rainwater into the shallow groundwater aquifers make the water availability be increased.  Key words: ground water recovery, artificial

Abstract

Pumping test are carried out to determine how much groundwater taken from a well and what effects pumping will have on the aquifer. Theis recovery method aims to find out the aquifer characteristics such as transmisibility and permeability values. This method in principle observes the recovery of ground water surface until stable. This research location at Tamansari distric Tasikmalaya West Java. The value of transmisibilitas and permeabilitas in Tamansari district indicated the groundwater potency is not good for industry ot comercial water. Higher value at Sukahurip and lowest value at Bantarhuni with a permeability coeficient only 1.32 m2/day. Ground water flow (m3/day) between 410 – 4868 m3/day at Mugarsari. Ground water resources is limited potency, especially at dry season, local goverment need to conserv with a build pond or fishpond for reserve water.
