Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in developing young children’s physical motor skills as part of holistic development. Motor skills, including both gross and fine motor abilities, are essential aspects that support children’s learning readiness as well as their cognitive, social, and emotional development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers, and documentation of learning activities in ECE institutions. The findings reveal that teachers implement various strategies to develop children’s motor skills, including play-based learning, the use of educational media, outdoor activities, and the application of demonstration and hands-on practice methods. In addition, teachers adapt their strategies to the characteristics and developmental stages of the children. Supporting factors include the availability of facilities and teachers’ creativity, while the challenges involve limited resources and differences in children’s individual abilities. This study concludes that varied, creative, and child-centered strategies can effectively enhance children’s physical motor development. Therefore, improving teachers’ competencies and providing a supportive learning environment are crucial to optimize motor skill learning in early childhood education.

Abstract

Independence is a crucial aspect of development for children with special needs and needs to be fostered through daily habituation activities. One form of practical life activity that can be used to promote independence is spooning, or using a spoon independently. This study aims to describe the implementation of practical life spooning activities in fostering independence among children with special needs and to identify changes in their ability to perform eating activities independently. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were children with special needs in special or inclusive educational settings. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of practical life spooning activities, carried out gradually, individually, and adjusted to the characteristics and needs of the children, can improve their independence, particularly in eating activities, fine motor coordination, and self-confidence. Therefore, practical life spooning activities are effective as a habituation strategy to foster independence in children with special needs.

Abstract

This study explores the meaning and lived experiences of Muslim micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) actors in applying Sharia economic principles within micro-business management in Indonesia. Using a phenomenological approach, this research seeks to understand how Islamic values such as honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amānah), justice (‘adl), and the prohibition of riba are interpreted and practiced in daily business activities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving selected Muslim UMKM actors who actively integrate Sharia principles into their businesses. The findings reveal that the application of Sharia economic principles is not merely normative but becomes a moral and spiritual foundation guiding business decisions, financial management, and customer relations. Participants perceive their businesses not only as profit-oriented entities but also as a form of worship (‘ibādah) and social responsibility. However, challenges remain, including limited literacy on Islamic finance, market competition, and inconsistencies in implementation. Despite these obstacles, the commitment to ethical business practices rooted in Islamic teachings strengthens trust, sustainability, and business resilience. This study contributes to the development of Islamic economic discourse by highlighting the experiential dimensions of Sharia implementation at the micro level, offering insights for policymakers, educators, and practitioners in promoting inclusive and value-based economic practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic education through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in fostering moderate character and global competence among today’s students. The rapid advancement of digital technology demands an adaptive educational model that not only emphasizes cognitive achievement but also strengthens ethical values and religious moderation. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis of current practices in Islamic education and AI-based learning systems. The findings indicate that AI can support personalized learning, enhance critical thinking, and facilitate access to diverse religious perspectives, which are essential in cultivating inclusive and tolerant attitudes. Furthermore, the integration of AI in Islamic education encourages the development of global competencies, including digital literacy, cross-cultural understanding, and problem-solving skills. However, this transformation also requires careful consideration of ethical principles, teacher readiness, and curriculum design to ensure alignment with Islamic values. The study concludes that AI-based Islamic education has significant potential to create a balanced learning environment that integrates technological advancement with spiritual and moral development, ultimately preparing students to navigate global challenges while maintaining a moderate and inclusive religious outlook.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct Islamic education through an interdisciplinary approach integrated with digital innovation to create a superior, moderate, and globally competitive generation. The background of this research lies in the gap between traditional Islamic education, which tends to be normative and text-centered, and the contemporary demands of a rapidly evolving digital and globalized world. By employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes various theoretical frameworks from Islamic studies, education, technology, and social sciences. The findings indicate that an interdisciplinary approach enables Islamic education to be more contextual, adaptive, and responsive to modern challenges, while digital innovation enhances accessibility, creativity, and effectiveness in the learning process. Furthermore, the integration of values of moderation (wasatiyyah) within a digitally supported learning environment fosters critical thinking, tolerance, and global awareness among learners. This reconstruction not only strengthens the epistemological foundation of Islamic education but also equips students with relevant competencies needed in the era of globalization and digital transformation. Therefore, Islamic education must continuously evolve by embracing interdisciplinary collaboration and technological advancement to remain relevant and impactful in shaping future generations.

Abstract

Millennial generation grows amidst rapid technological advancement and globalization that threaten their moral stability and Islamic identity. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is required to transform in order to serve as both a shield and a guide in character formation for this generation. This study aims to examine the transformation process of PAI encompassing curriculum, methodology, and technology dimensions in building the character of the millennial generation to be noble, tolerant, and imbued with moderate Islamic values. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research technique through content analysis of relevant primary and secondary sources published between 2018 and 2024. Results: The findings indicate that effective PAI transformation encompasses integration of digital literacy in learning, application of contextual and active approaches, and cultivation of religious moderation values. These three aspects are proven to enhance student engagement and strengthen their Islamic character in the digital era. PAI transformation is not merely a technical renewal, but a strategic effort in responding to the demands of the times while adhering to universal Islamic values. The synergy among educators, educational institutions, families, and technology is the key to successfully building a generation of millennials with strong character.

Abstract

Modern Islamic education faces various challenges characterized by developments in science, technology, and globalization, which have impacted changes in the educational paradigm. In this context, the professionalism of madrasa teachers is a crucial aspect that needs to be developed to be able to meet the demands of the times without neglecting Islamic spiritual and moral values. This study aims to analyze the concept of modern Islamic education from the perspective of Seyyed Hossein Nasr and examine its relevance for the development of madrasa teacher professionalism. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. Data were obtained from the works of Seyyed Hossein Nasr, books, scientific articles, and various relevant literature sources. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques by identifying, classifying, and interpreting Nasr's ideas related to Islamic education. The results show that Islamic education according to Seyyed Hossein Nasr emphasizes the integration of intellectual, spiritual, and moral dimensions through the concept of the unity of knowledge and sacred knowledge. Nasr criticized modern education which tends to be secular and materialistic because it ignores the transcendental dimension in the educational process. This thinking is relevant to the development of madrasah teacher professionalism, particularly in strengthening pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies based on spiritual values. Thus, Seyyed Hossein Nasr's thinking can serve as a conceptual foundation for building madrasah teacher professionalism that not only excels academically but also possesses moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual framework regarding the relationship between educational investment, Islamic values, and human capital formation through the maqāṣid al-syarī'ah approach. The research is motivated by the dominant Human Capital paradigm that views education as an economic investment to increase productivity and competitiveness, but has not yet comprehensively accommodated the spiritual, moral, and social dimensions. The study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The results show that maqāṣid al-syarī'ah is able to become an integrative paradigm in expanding the concept of educational investment through five main dimensions, namely ḥifẓ al-dīn, ḥifẓ al-nafs, ḥifẓ al-'aql, ḥifẓ al-nasl, and ḥifẓ al-māl. The integration of Human Capital theory and the maqāṣid al-syarī'ah (Islamic principles) produces the Maqāṣid-Based Human Capital Framework, which connects intellectual, spiritual, moral, social, and economic dimensions as indicators of holistic human capital development. This model provides a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic education and serves as a conceptual foundation for formulating educational policies oriented toward productivity, character, welfare, and sustainable human resource development in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed learning systems, including Islamic education, by creating opportunities to enhance digital literacy while maintaining students' moral and religious character. This study aims to analyze the transformation of AI-based Islamic education learning, examine the role of AI in strengthening the digital literacy of modern santri, and formulate a learning model that integrates AI with Islamic character education. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research design. Data were collected from books, scientific journal articles, policy documents, and other relevant academic sources related to artificial intelligence, digital literacy, Islamic education, and character development. Data were analyzed through content analysis using the stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that AI significantly enhances learning effectiveness through personalized instruction, broader access to educational resources, and the development of critical thinking and digital competencies. However, its implementation must remain grounded in Islamic values, with teachers maintaining their essential roles as educators and moral guides. This study proposes the AI Humanistic Islamic Learning Model, which integrates AI utilization, digital literacy, and Islamic character values into a comprehensive learning framework. The model is expected to produce digitally competent, ethically responsible, and morally grounded santri capable of addressing the challenges of the digital era.
