Abstract

This study explores the implementation of gamification in Al-Quran learning at Madrasah Diniyah al-Amiin Kotabumi as an effort to enhance students' engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes. The research aims to analyze how gamification elements such as points, badges, leaderboards, and interactive challenges are integrated into the learning process, as well as their impact on students’ interest and memorization skills. A qualitative descriptive method was employed through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation review. The findings reveal that gamification strategies successfully increase student participation and create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere, which in turn improves students’ ability to memorize and understand the Qur’an. However, the study also identifies several challenges, including limited teacher training in digital tools and the need for adequate facilities. Overall, gamification proves to be an effective approach for optimizing Al-Quran learning in a traditional madrasah setting when supported by proper planning and resources.

Abstract

The rapid growth of online learning in recent years has significantly influenced the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This study analyzes the challenges and opportunities faced by Islamic Religious Education teachers in implementing online learning. The challenges include limited technological literacy among teachers and students, inadequate internet connectivity, lack of interactive media tailored to Islamic education, and difficulties in assessing students’ spiritual attitudes. Conversely, online learning provides opportunities for innovation in teaching methods, the development of digital-based Islamic learning resources, and the flexibility to integrate global Islamic knowledge through virtual platforms. This research highlights that addressing these challenges requires comprehensive training for teachers, improvement of digital infrastructure, and the development of pedagogically appropriate e-learning materials. Furthermore, the adoption of blended learning models is suggested to optimize both technology and the humanistic values of Islamic education. The findings of this study contribute to formulating effective strategies for enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education in the digital era.

Abstract

Religious moderation education is a key strategy in shaping a young generation that is tolerant, inclusive, and respectful of diversity. This study aims to analyze the role of extracurricular activities in strengthening Islamic moderation values in high schools. Extracurricular programs such as Islamic Spirituality (Rohis), scouting, and student organizations are considered effective platforms for internalizing moderation values through collaborative approaches, critical discussions, and the habituation of inclusive attitudes. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and document analysis in several high schools. The findings reveal that well-structured extracurricular activities significantly enhance students' understanding of Islamic moderation principles, including tawasuth (middle path), tasamuh (tolerance), and i’tidal (justice). Moreover, the active involvement of teacher advisors and inter-organizational collaboration within schools serve as key supporting factors for the success of this program. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating religious moderation values into non-formal school activities as a preventive effort against intolerance among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at the Ibnurusyd Islamic College (STAI) in Lampung. The development of digital technology, particularly AI, has brought significant changes to the world of education, including religious education. AI integration is expected to improve learning effectiveness, enrich learning resources, and expand student access to more interactive and contextual Islamic knowledge. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with lecturers, students, and curriculum managers, as well as analysis of Semester Learning Plan (RPS) documents and academic policies. The results show that the implementation of AI in the PAI curriculum is still partial, in the form of the use of chatbot applications, AI-based e-learning, and the use of big data for analyzing student understanding. However, there is no specific curriculum standard that regulates the comprehensive integration of AI in PAI learning. This study recommends the development of an adaptive curriculum that integrates AI with the principles of religious moderation, as well as improving lecturers' competencies in digital literacy and AI technology for optimal implementation.

Abstract

Global environmental crises such as climate change, ecosystem destruction, and natural pollution demonstrate the need for an educational approach that is not only technical but also moral and spiritual. Islamic education has strategic potential in building environmental awareness through the concept of eco-theology based on the values of the Qur'an and Sunnah. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic education in instilling ecological awareness in students through a theological and pedagogical approach. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach to relevant primary and secondary sources. The results of the study indicate that Islamic education plays a significant role in shaping the paradigm of humans as khalifah fil Ardh who are responsible for environmental sustainability. The integration of Eco-Theology values into the curriculum, learning methods, and school/madrasah culture can be an alternative solution in building sustainable environmental awareness.

Abstract

Sharia law (hukum syara’) refers to the rules established by Allah SWT to regulate the behavior of human beings who have met the requirements to receive and carry out legal responsibilities in Islam (mukallaf). These rules are derived from the Qur'an and Hadith and represent a central topic in the study of ushul fiqh, which aims to understand the principles and foundations of Islamic legal rulings in a systematic and structured manner. By understanding Sharia law, Muslims are able to guide their attitudes and actions in accordance with Islamic teachings in various aspects of life. Scholars in many academic works explain that Sharia law is generally divided into two main categories: taklifi law and wadh’i law. Taklifi law consists of rulings that contain direct demands addressed to the mukallaf, either in the form of commands to perform certain actions, prohibitions against performing them, or choices between performing or not performing an action. This category includes five primary rulings: obligatory, recommended, prohibited, disliked, and permissible, each indicating different levels of obligation in Islamic practice. Meanwhile, wadh’i law functions to determine when taklifi law becomes applicable through several elements, such as cause, condition, impediment, validity and invalidity, as well as strict rulings and legal concessions. This classification demonstrates that Islamic law is systematic and flexible, allowing it to regulate human behavior in a balanced way while fulfilling the objectives of Sharia, namely achieving benefit and preventing harm in human life.
