Abstract

General Background: Education plays a vital role in shaping students’ morality, supported not only by curriculum but also by the school’s cultural environment. Specific Background: Amid declining educational quality and increased moral issues such as student absenteeism and disrespectful behavior, schools need systematic approaches to character development. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies often focus on religious teachers' roles, overlooking the collective effort of all school members through a structured quality culture. Aims: This study investigates the implementation of school quality culture in shaping student morality at SMP Negeri 1 Masaran. Results: Using a qualitative case study approach, the findings reveal that moral improvement is fostered through habitual programs such as the "10 Budaya Malu," leadership modeling, consistent policy implementation, and involvement of all school elements. Novelty: Unlike prior research focusing on individual roles, this study emphasizes a whole-school approach that integrates quality culture as a systemic strategy for moral education. Implications: The success of moral development in schools requires collaborative participation from school leaders, educators, staff, students, and the broader community to establish a sustainable, value-oriented school environment.Highlight : Quality culture in schools shapes student character through consistent behavioral reinforcement. The principal's leadership and teacher role modeling are crucial in moral development. The "10 Budaya Malu" program fosters self-awareness and ethical behavior among students. Abstract

General Background: Holistic education has emerged as a promising pedagogical approach that addresses not only cognitive development but also emotional, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions of learners. Specific Background: In the dynamic context of 21st-century education, this model is seen as essential in shaping students' character and competence, particularly at the secondary level. Knowledge Gap: However, prior research has focused primarily on conceptual discussions or early education settings, with limited analysis of its practical implementation and sustainability in secondary schools. Aims: This study aims to systematically review the opportunities and challenges of implementing holistic education at the secondary level and to offer evidence-based recommendations for its strategic development. Results: Using the PRISMA method with 69 selected Scopus-indexed articles, the study identified core challenges such as lack of policy support, insufficient infrastructure, digitalization barriers, and teacher readiness, while also highlighting key opportunities including enhanced spirituality, environmental literacy, and inclusive curriculum design. Novelty: This research provides a comprehensive mapping of holistic education through Miller's framework, emphasizing diagnostic tools and multicultural adaptability. Implications: The findings inform policymakers and educators about effective strategies to implement sustainable holistic education, promoting students’ multidimensional growth in response to global and technological shifts.Highlight : Holistic education emphasizes emotional, social, physical, and spiritual development of students. Abstract

General Background: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are pivotal to economic development, yet often struggle with financial inefficiencies. Specific Background: In Arab countries such as Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, SMEs face compounded challenges due to outdated financial practices and limited technological integration. Knowledge Gap: While AIS benefits are well documented in developed economies, limited comparative research exists on their impact in Arab SMEs, particularly regarding performance metrics and adoption barriers. Aims: This study investigates the influence of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) on financial performance, operational efficiency, and decision-making among SMEs in Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq. Results: Using mixed methods, the study reveals that AIS adoption significantly improves financial reporting accuracy (up to 50% error reduction), saves 12–20 weekly hours on financial tasks, and lowers operational costs by 18–25% annually. Regression analysis confirms statistically significant positive impacts across all metrics, strongest in Egypt, moderate in Jordan, and weakest in Iraq due to infrastructural and political constraints. Novelty: The study offers a cross-country comparative analysis within the Arab context and develops a model linking AIS adoption to specific performance outcomes. Implications: Findings support targeted policy interventions, training programs, and infrastructure development to enhance AIS adoption, thus strengthening SME competitiveness and regional economic resilience.Highlight : AIS adoption improved financial accuracy, cut costs by up to 25%, and saved 12–20 hours weekly. Abstract

General Background: Public service delivery is a critical driver of socio-economic development and citizen well-being. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, public service provision has evolved significantly since independence, reflecting institutional, legal, and technological reforms. Knowledge Gap: Despite various sectoral studies, there remains a lack of comprehensive, stage-based analysis detailing the systematic evolution of Uzbekistan’s national public service system. Aims: This study aims to chronologically categorize the development of public service delivery in Uzbekistan and evaluate its implications for governance and service efficiency. Results: Through a detailed analysis of legal acts, policies, and digital initiatives, five key phases were identified: foundational institution-building (1991–2000s), procedural reforms (2001–2003), early e-government efforts (2003–2013), digital integration (2013–2017), and citizen-focused transformation (2017–present). Each phase progressively enhanced service accessibility, reduced bureaucracy, and introduced digital platforms. Novelty: This research is the first to offer a holistic, multi-dimensional chronology of public service reforms in Uzbekistan, integrating legal, institutional, and digital trajectories. Implications: The findings provide strategic insights for policymakers in emerging economies aiming to modernize public services, and serve as a foundation for comparative studies in public administration reform.Highlight : Modernization of Governance: The public service system evolved from bureaucratic institutions to streamlined, digital service platforms enhancing administrative efficiency. Abstract

General Background: In today’s global knowledge economy, the competitiveness of higher education institutions (HEIs) increasingly depends on their ability to align graduate competencies with labor market expectations. Specific Background: This is particularly relevant in regional contexts like Bukhara, Uzbekistan, where institutions must adapt to evolving demands while preserving traditional education values. Knowledge Gap: Despite global emphasis on employability, limited empirical research has analyzed how specific competencies influence HEI competitiveness in transitional economies. Aims: This study investigates the impact of five key graduate competencies—communication, creativity, self-competence, IT competence, and social competence—on employer evaluations to inform strategic competitiveness management. Results: Using data from 363 employers and regression analysis, the findings reveal that communication and creativity are the most significant predictors, explaining 47.9% of the variance in employer ratings. Institution-specific models further highlight varied strengths across five HEIs. Novelty: The study provides a competency-based, data-driven framework for HEI competitiveness management that differentiates institutional profiles rather than applying uniform standards. Implications: These insights offer HEI leaders targeted guidance for curriculum development and strategic planning, demonstrating how employer feedback can serve as a powerful tool for institutional enhancement and labor market alignment.Highlight : Communication and creativity are the strongest predictors of graduate employability. Abstract

General Background: Islamic financing contracts, such as the Ijarah Agreement, are vital instruments in Sharia-based banking. Specific Background: Despite their growing adoption, limited research has empirically explored the determinants of their use among Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) clients. Knowledge Gap: There is a lack of understanding regarding which factors significantly drive customer decisions toward Ijarah products. Aims: This study aims to identify and assess the key factors influencing the adoption of Ijarah Agreements among clients of Bank BSI Lubuk Pakam. Results: Using a quantitative descriptive approach with purposive sampling of 40 respondents, the study employed SPSS 22 for statistical analysis, including normality, regression, and significance testing. The results show that product quality and margins significantly affect customer decisions, whereas service quality and financing methods have negligible impact. The adjusted R² value of 0.629 indicates that 62.9% of decision variance is explained by the tested variables. Novelty: This study offers new empirical insights into how specific product attributes and profitability shape customer behavior in Ijarah financing. Implications: The findings underscore the need for Sharia banks to prioritize product excellence and competitive margins to enhance Ijarah adoption. Abstract

General Background: Digital transformation in education necessitates adaptive leadership to optimize institutional performance. Specific Background: In the context of SMPN 1 Gedangan and SMPN 1 Porong, the role of principals as digital leaders remains underexplored, particularly in influencing teacher performance.Knowledge Gap: Prior studies often overlook the qualitative implications of digital leadership in middle schools with evolving technological infrastructure. Aims: This study investigates the impact of school principals' digital leadership—including digitized systems, innovation programs, and collaboration—on enhancing teacher performance. Methods: Using a qualitative approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews and observations, analyzed descriptively, and validated via Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and data triangulation. Results: Findings reveal that digital leadership significantly improves teacher capabilities, as evidenced by improvements in PMM E-performance reports, attendance tracking, training participation, digital program initiatives, and principal supervision. Novelty: This study provides practical, observation-based insights on how digital leadership directly correlates with measurable performance indicators at the school level. Implications: The study offers actionable implications for educational leadership, emphasizing synergy between principals and staff in advancing digital transformation within public junior high schools. Abstract

General Background: Youth entrepreneurship is a critical strategy for fostering economic self-reliance and innovation. Specific Background: In Indonesia, the Scout Movement has increasingly integrated character and skill-building programs, offering an opportunity to embed entrepreneurial education. Knowledge Gap: Despite awareness of entrepreneurship, practical understanding and application among adolescents—especially using tools like the Business Model Canvas (BMC)—remain limited. Aims: This study aims to enhance entrepreneurial interest and competency among 17-year-old Scout members through BMC design training. Results: Conducted as a participatory workshop, the training included lectures, business site visits, group simulations, and peer assessments. The findings showed that 66.7% of participants were unfamiliar with BMC prior to the workshop, but post-training evaluations revealed improved comprehension, with peer assessment scores averaging 3.08–4.00 (out of 5), and self-ratings predominantly between 7 and 9 (out of 10). Novelty: This study contributes novel insights into the integration of entrepreneurship education within a non-formal setting, specifically through experiential and peer-based learning methods tailored for Scout members. Implications: The findings suggest that structured, interactive training using BMC can effectively cultivate entrepreneurial mindset and skills in youth, and support the strategic inclusion of business education in character-based programs like Scouting.Highlight : Hands-on BMC Training: Scout members engaged in designing business models using the Business Model Canvas to enhance entrepreneurial skills. Abstract

General Background: Critical thinking is foundational in mathematics education, especially in probabilistic reasoning, which underpins decision-making under uncertainty. Specific Background: Despite its relevance, probability theory is often taught procedurally rather than conceptually, limiting students' reasoning skills. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies rarely integrate cognitive pedagogy with probability instruction, particularly in under-researched educational contexts like Uzbekistan. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the impact of a pedagogical model—incorporating inquiry, paradox analysis, and reflection—on developing tenth-grade students’ critical thinking in probability. Results: Using a quasi-experimental design, the intervention group significantly outperformed the control group in post-test scores (83.1 vs. 70.2), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.12). Improvements were particularly strong in logical inference, assumption evaluation, and problem analysis. Novelty: This research uniquely applies metacognitive strategies to probabilistic education within a context lacking prior integrative frameworks. Implications: Findings suggest that embedding critical thinking in probability instruction not only enhances cognitive skills but also supports broader curriculum reform and teacher development. The model holds promise for adaptation across diverse educational settings, contributing to a deeper, more transferable understanding of mathematics.HIghlight : Significant Skill Gains – Students in the experimental group improved critical thinking scores by over 20 points, nearly triple the control group’s gains. Abstract

General Background: Small businesses are fundamental to economic development, particularly in emerging economies, due to their capacity for job creation and innovation. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, government reforms have increasingly prioritized SME development through policies promoting entrepreneurship and labor enhancement. Knowledge Gap: Despite their significance, limited research explores how labor potential—defined by productivity, training, and retention—affects small business growth in this context. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between labor potential and economic performance in small businesses, focusing on workforce development strategies and the impact of national policy measures. Results: Quantitative and qualitative data from 200 SMEs and 40 interviews revealed a strong correlation (ρ = 0.82) between structured training and revenue growth, while low turnover was linked to higher efficiency. Government-supported initiatives, such as the “One Million Entrepreneurs” program, significantly enhanced labor outcomes. Novelty: The research uniquely integrates firm-level data with an analysis of policy frameworks in Uzbekistan, offering sector-specific insights and documenting tangible returns on labor investment. Implications: Findings underscore the necessity of public-private collaboration in strengthening SME labor potential, providing a replicable model for workforce-driven growth in other developing countries.HIghlight : Training Boosts Growth: Structured employee training is linked to 30% higher productivity and 15% revenue growth.
