Abstract

AbstractInclusive education aims to create equitable and supportive learning environments for all students, including those with special needs (SEN). At the secondary school level, the implementation of inclusive practices presents more complex challenges compared to primary education, such as diverse learning needs and the risk of discrimination or bullying. Previous studies have primarily focused on primary education or curricular aspects, with limited attention to adaptive and contextual service models suitable for secondary schools. This article seeks to explore and describe a student-friendly inclusive education model through the integration of cluster and pull-out approaches, combined with community-based anti-bullying strategies. The findings indicate that combining cluster and pull-out models provides flexible and adaptive learning spaces while maintaining opportunities for SEN students to engage in social interactions within regular classrooms. This strategy is further strengthened by the use of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and alignment with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. The study proposes a conceptual model that integrates service approaches, adaptive curricula, and social strategies to support the learning success of SEN students in secondary schools. These findings offer practical guidance for schools and policymakers in promoting fair, inclusive, and stigma-free secondary education.Highlight : Dual Strategy Approach: Combines cluster and pull-out models to support learning needs of students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms. Contextual Adaptation: Emphasizes the need for flexible strategies in secondary schools due to the complexity of adolescent development. Global Alignment: Integrates Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Index for Inclusion to meet international standards in inclusive education. Abstract

General Background: Urban living has influenced student lifestyles, often fostering consumptive behaviors. Specific Background: Overseas students are particularly vulnerable, facing peer pressure and environmental shifts that affect their financial decisions and self-perception. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies report inconsistent findings regarding how financial attitudes and self-concept affect consumption behavior, particularly lacking the mediating role of lifestyle. Aims: This study investigates whether lifestyle mediates the relationship between financial attitudes, self-concept, and the consumption behavior of overseas students. Results: Using a quantitative approach with SmartPLS 4 and data from 114 FEB UPN Veteran East Java students, the study found that both financial attitudes and self-concept negatively relate to lifestyle and consumption behavior, while lifestyle has a positive relationship with consumption and serves as a mediator. Novelty: The study provides novel insights by integrating lifestyle as a mediating variable, clarifying the previously inconsistent relationships among variables. Implications: The findings suggest that fostering a modest lifestyle may reduce consumptive behavior, even among students with weaker financial attitudes or lower self-concept, guiding effective interventions in student financial education and lifestyle management.Highlight : Lifestyle significantly moderates the link between financial attitude and consumptive behavior. Negative self-concept does not always lead to high consumption due to financial constraints. Students with high allowances and trendy environments are more prone to consumptive lifestyles. Keywords : Lifestyle, Financial Attitude, Self-Concept, Consumptive Behavior, Overseas Students

Abstract

Community empowerment through faith-based financial management plays a crucial role in social welfare. Specifically, the Al-Ikhlas Jami Mosque in Bandar Setia manages Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah (ZIS) funds to support local residents, though its usage remains largely consumptive. Despite the importance of ZIS, the current allocation—limited to four recipient categories (the poor, the needy, amil, and fi sabilillah)—reflects a narrow application of Islamic economic potential. Existing literature often neglects how local mosques can optimize ZIS for sustainable empowerment. This study aims to analyze the financial management practices of ZIS at the Al-Ikhlas Jami Mosque using a qualitative field research approach. Findings reveal a three-stage process: collection, distribution, and accountability, all executed in alignment with Islamic principles. However, the lack of diversification in beneficiary categories and weak monitoring mechanisms hinder its broader impact. The novelty lies in highlighting the mosque’s untapped potential to transform ZIS from consumptive relief into strategic empowerment tools. Implications include the need for policy reform to widen mustahik coverage and strengthen oversight, thereby enhancing the mosque’s role in socio-economic development. Highlights: Limited ZIS distribution focuses only on four mustahik groups. Management follows Islamic law but lacks strategic impact. Oversight and mustahik coverage need significant improvement.
