Abstract

General Background: Islamic banking has grown significantly in Indonesia, particularly among students seeking Sharia-compliant financial services. Specific Background: Bank Sumut Syariah, as a regional Islamic bank, serves UINSU students whose preferences are influenced by religious and practical factors. Knowledge Gap: While many studies focus on national Islamic banks, limited research explores student behavior toward local Sharia banks like Bank Sumut Syariah. Aims: This study aims to identify and analyze the dominant factors affecting UINSU students’ decisions to save at Bank Sumut Syariah. Results: Using a sample of 100 students and multiple regression analysis, the findings show that Sharia compliance, security, trust, and facilities significantly affect savings decisions, with Sharia compliance being the most influential (B = 0.312). The model explains 60.2% of the variation in saving behavior (Adjusted R² = 0.602), and the research instrument is highly reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.931). Novelty: This research uniquely integrates four key variables into a localized behavioral model specific to a regional Islamic bank and student demographic. Implications: The results provide strategic insights for Islamic banks to prioritize Sharia integrity and responsive digital services to foster loyalty and align financial practices with students' religious and lifestyle values.Highlight : Sharia compliance is the most influential factor in students’ saving behavior. Security, trust, and facilities also have significant roles. The model explains 60.2% of the decision variation using four key variables. Abstract

General Background: The tourism sector is increasingly recognized as a critical component of national economic development due to its multifaceted impact on employment, infrastructure, and cultural preservation. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, tourism reforms between 2020 and 2024 have aimed to accelerate growth through infrastructural investments, digital innovations, and policy shifts. Knowledge Gap: However, empirical studies focusing on synergistic management—particularly the integrated coordination among tourism sub-sectors—remain limited, especially in the Uzbek context. Aims: This study investigates the mechanisms and outcomes of synergistic development across hotel, transport, gastronomy, excursion, and information services in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector. Results: Using qualitative methods and statistical review, the study finds significant post-pandemic recovery in tourism revenue and infrastructure, yet highlights persistent challenges in inter-sectoral coordination, digital integration, and service standardization. Novelty: The paper introduces a contextualized model of synergistic tourism management tailored to Uzbekistan, integrating global theoretical frameworks with local empirical trends. Implications: The findings underscore the need for cohesive digital platforms, functional cluster governance, and competency-based workforce training to advance sustainable tourism and improve Uzbekistan’s global competitiveness.Higlights: Post-Pandemic Growth: Tourist arrivals in Uzbekistan surged from 1.5 million (2020) to 6.6 million (2023) due to integrated reforms. Infrastructure Expansion: Hotels, tourist companies, and transport services grew over 50%, enhancing service availability. Low Coordination: Despite growth, weak cross-sector synergy and fragmented digital systems still limit overall tourism efficiency. Keywords: Synergy, Tourism, Infrastructure, Cluster, Uzbekistan

Abstract

General background: Real estate management is a cornerstone for sustainable economic development, particularly in transition economies like Uzbekistan undergoing reform and privatization. Specific background: Despite notable efforts toward digital transformation and structural reform, inefficiencies persist due to underutilized assets, fragmented information systems, and weak strategic planning. Knowledge gap: Existing studies emphasize legal, financial, or valuation models without integrating socio-economic metrics, digital governance, or public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks tailored to transitional economies. Aims: This study aims to develop an integrated methodology for improving the efficiency of real estate object management by combining empirical national data with global best practices. Results: Empirical analysis from 2018–2024 reveals significant improvements in digitalization and investment attraction; however, high vacancy rates and systemic inefficiencies remain. A forecast model predicts investment attraction will exceed 70% by 2030 if reforms persist. Novelty: The research introduces a multi-dimensional approach that incorporates correlational analysis, strategic planning, and PPP mechanisms, aligned with frameworks from the IMF and World Bank. Implications: Findings advocate for a systemic, digital, and socially-oriented management model that enhances fiscal stability, optimizes asset use, and aligns real estate governance with national development priorities.Highlights: Digital transformation is essential for improving real estate management through information systems and strategic planning. High vacancy and poor utilization still persist—about 31% of properties remain unused as of 2024 despite reforms. Investment attraction is rising, projected to reach 70.2% by 2030, driven by digital systems and public-private partnerships. Abstract

This study analyses visual aesthetics in social advertisements in an environmental awareness campaign in Pilanggede Village, Balen Subdistrict, Bojonegoro Regency. This village is known for actively educating the community through visual media such as posters, billboards, and public service videos. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study employs observation, interviews, and documentation. Design elements such as colour, typography, illustration, and composition are analysed to assess their influence on the effectiveness of the campaign message. Green and blue colours are predominantly used to create associations with nature and cleanliness, while local illustrations reinforce the context of the message. Simple typography is used to ensure readability. This study finds that visual aesthetics plays an important role in attracting attention and influencing community attitudes. Community involvement in the creation of campaign materials increases the effectiveness of the message. However, limited resources and understanding of design are major challenges. Abstract

This study aims to examine how visual elements are used in opinion comics, as well as what visual elements are chosen by comic artists to convey messages effectively using the comedy genre while containing highly sensitive content. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach, data was collected from observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that to package highly sensitive content, a light-hearted approach is required. The technique applied in this Opinion Comic is to use the comedy genre as a medium for conveying messages, presented through simple yet representative visualisations. The religious theme raised was originally a very sensitive topic, but when packaged with visualisation appropriate to the comedy genre, it became entertainment that also educated readers of Opinion Comics and provided new insights from a different perspective. Highlights: Comedy as Medium – Humor softens sensitive topics for broader acceptance. Effective Visuals – Simple yet clear imagery enhances message delivery. Abstract

General Background: Sexual violence against elementary school students remains a critical concern globally and nationally, particularly in rural regions where cultural literacy and formal sex education are limited. Specific Background: In Buol Regency, Indonesia, despite strong local traditions such as Modoyyo Orit that emphasize shame, self-respect, and social control, cases of sexual violence persist in schools due to weak integration of these cultural values into education. Knowledge Gap: Previous prevention efforts have largely relied on normative and legalistic approaches, lacking culturally anchored frameworks for early childhood education. Aim: This study aimed to explore the phenomenon of sexual violence in SDN 3 Biau and to develop a preventive model by integrating Modoyyo Orit cultural values into school-based education. Results: Using qualitative case study methods involving teachers, students, parents, and traditional leaders, findings revealed that students had limited understanding of personal boundaries and that existing education approaches were insufficient. However, Modoyyo Orit values demonstrated strong potential to foster self-control and protective behaviors when systematically taught. Novelty: This research introduces the first culture-based sexual violence prevention framework for elementary schools in Indonesia, bridging educational practice and indigenous wisdom. Implications: Findings highlight the need for culturally responsive curricula that synergize schools, families, and communities to build sustainable child protection models.Highlight : Using Modoyyo Orit cultural values to prevent sexual violence. Abstract

General Background: The growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia continues to show promise, yet market penetration remains limited due to competition with conventional banking. Specific Background: Customer decisions are influenced by both the application of Maqashid Syariah values and institutional reputation, yet limited studies assess both variables in the context of specific products like Marhamah Savings. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies overlook the combined impact of Maqashid Syariah values and institutional reputation on product usage decisions in localized banking contexts. Aims: This study investigates the influence of Maqashid Syariah values and institutional reputation on customers’ decisions to use Marhamah Savings at Bank Sumut Syariah, Medan. Results: Using a quantitative approach and regression analysis on 100 respondents, results indicate that both Maqashid Syariah values (t = 4.875; p < 0.001) and institutional reputation (t = 4.530; p < 0.001) significantly influence product usage decisions, jointly explaining 68.3% of the variance. Novelty: This study uniquely combines two critical factors—Shariah values and reputation—on a specific Islamic savings product in a regional context, offering fresh empirical insight. Implications: Findings suggest that Islamic banks should enhance service transparency, digital innovation, and public literacy based on Maqashid Syariah to improve competitiveness and customer loyalty.Highlight : Maqashid Syariah values positively influence the decision to use Marhamah Savings.
