Abstract

General Background: In the era of digital transformation, efficient industrial asset maintenance is critical to meeting global competitiveness demands. Specific Background: Heavy equipment in sectors like construction, plantations, and agriculture requires significant investment and continuous maintenance, yet many companies still rely on manual, unscheduled, and reactive practices. Knowledge Gap: Limited research addresses the direct integration of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with real-time, data-driven maintenance information systems tailored for heavy equipment operations. Aims: This study aims to develop and implement an integrated TPM-based heavy equipment maintenance information system to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and enhance decision-making. Results: Using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, the system identified performance gaps, with the highest OEE at 97% (Truck) and the lowest at 14% (Roller), enabling targeted maintenance actions. The integration reduced downtime, optimized resource use, and provided predictive insights. Novelty: Unlike prior studies focusing solely on TPM theory or measurement, this work delivers a practical, field-ready, IT-enabled solution directly integrated into daily heavy equipment operations. Implications: The approach offers a scalable model for other industries, supporting sustainable asset management through predictive, data-driven maintenance strategies.Highlight : Integrating TPM with information systems reduces downtime and improves performance. OEE is used to measure the availability, performance, and quality of heavy equipment. The system facilitates real-time monitoring and maintenance decision-making. Abstract

General Background: Academic self-efficacy plays a critical role in influencing students’ motivation, learning strategies, and academic performance. It reflects individuals’ belief in their ability to accomplish academic tasks effectively. Specific Background: Despite its significance, differences in self-efficacy levels among students from different health disciplines, particularly in Iraq, are understudied. Knowledge Gap: There is limited empirical evidence comparing academic self-efficacy between nursing and pharmacy students in Iraqi medical education settings. Aims: This study aimed to assess and compare academic self-efficacy levels among second-year nursing and pharmacy students at Basra Medical Institute and examine the influence of age and gender. Results: The findings revealed that pharmacy students had moderately higher academic self-efficacy (M = 2.62) compared to nursing students (M = 2.37). Age significantly influenced pharmacy students’ self-efficacy, favoring older students, while gender had no significant impact in either group. Novelty: This study provides the first comparative analysis of self-efficacy in these student groups within the Iraqi context and highlights discipline-specific challenges in applying knowledge. Implications: The results suggest the need for tailored interventions, such as mentorship, interactive learning, and psychological support programs, particularly for nursing students, to enhance academic self-confidence and performance.Highlight : Nursing students had lower academic self-efficacy compared to pharmacy students. Age significantly influenced pharmacy students' self-efficacy, but not for nursing students. Both groups showed high self-efficacy in leadership roles, yet struggled in practical application tasks. Abstract

General background: Tourism has become a vital driver of economic growth and socio-cultural integration globally. Specific background: Uzbekistan, endowed with rich cultural and historical assets, has made tourism a strategic priority, especially in the post-independence era. Knowledge gap: Despite institutional reforms and increasing tourist numbers, Uzbekistan’s tourism sector still faces challenges in infrastructure, digitalization, service quality, and international marketing. Aims: This study aims to analyze the mechanisms for enhancing foreign tourist inflow and improving tourism services in Uzbekistan by identifying systemic weaknesses and proposing evidence-based solutions. Results: Using a mixed-methods approach, the study finds that while tourist numbers and revenue have rebounded post-pandemic, service quality remains uneven, regional disparities are significant, and average revenue per tourist is low. Novelty: The study contributes by integrating regional tourism data with strategic policy recommendations that emphasize digital transformation, human capital development, and national branding. Implications: These findings highlight the need for comprehensive reforms focusing on sustainable, inclusive, and digital tourism models to unlock Uzbekistan’s full tourism potential and position it competitively in the global market. Highlights: Tourism Growth: Uzbekistan reached 6 million foreign tourists and $1.27B in revenue by 2023, yet average tourist spending remains low. Main Challenges: Service quality gaps, weak infrastructure, lack of digital tools, and insufficient skilled personnel hinder tourism advancement. Abstract

General Background: Mathematics is a compulsory subject in Indonesian primary education as it develops logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, yet many students face difficulties due to monotonous teaching approaches. Specific Background: Preliminary observations in grade III of SDN 11/II Teluk Pandak revealed only 30.43% of students achieved the minimum mastery criteria, largely due to low engagement and ineffective instructional strategies. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies have shown the benefits of Example Non-Example models and flannel board media separately, limited research has examined their combined application in elementary mathematics learning. Aims: This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning processes and outcomes by integrating the Example Non-Example model with flannel graph media. Results: Using classroom action research across two cycles, findings demonstrated significant improvement, with student mastery increasing from 30.43% (pre-cycle) to 56.52% (cycle I) and 91.30% (cycle II). Novelty: The strategic integration of visual-conceptual learning through Example Non-Example with interactive flannel media offers a more engaging and contextualized learning experience. Implications: These findings suggest that combining innovative instructional models with concrete media can foster active participation, enhance conceptual understanding, and serve as a practical strategy for improving mathematics education in elementary schools.Highlight : Model Example Non-Example with flannel graph improved mathematics learning outcomes. Student achievement increased significantly from cycle I to cycle II. Learning became more active, engaging, and effective. Abstract

General Background: Industrial clustering has emerged globally as a strategic approach to enhancing cost efficiency and competitiveness. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, the construction materials sector is vital to national infrastructure development but remains fragmented, inefficient, and cost-burdened. Knowledge Gap: Despite international successes, limited empirical research exists on the quantifiable benefits of cluster systems within Uzbekistan's construction industry. Aims: This study investigates the potential of clustering to reduce production and logistics costs, enhance technological integration, and improve overall industrial performance. Results: Empirical analysis reveals that cluster-based enterprises achieve a 15% reduction in production costs, 8% lower logistics and energy expenses, and a 50% decrease in waste levels. Labor productivity improves by 22%, technological stoppages are minimized, and export potential doubles. Novelty: Unlike prior studies, this research provides a localized, data-driven assessment linking cluster implementation with measurable efficiency gains, labor inclusion, and innovation adoption. Implications: The findings underscore clustering as a transformative model for Uzbekistan’s industrial policy, supporting sustainable development, small business integration, and regional economic resilience. Abstract

Background (General): Racial discrimination in schools continues to hinder inclusive education, affecting students’ psychological, social, and academic growth. Background (Specific): In Indonesia’s multicultural setting, primary schools must implement national policies such as Kurikulum Merdeka and the Profil Pelajar Pancasila to foster tolerance and diversity, yet evidence from classroom practices remains limited. Knowledge Gap: While existing studies explore multicultural education, few provide empirical insights into how elementary school teachers address racial discrimination in real classroom interactions. Aim: This study investigates the role of teachers in preventing and mitigating racial discrimination at SD Negeri 100/II Muara Bungo, highlighting their strategies and challenges. Results: Findings show that teachers embed tolerance values in lessons, use personal approaches to support minority students, and foster collaborative, diversity-oriented classroom activities. However, they face barriers such as limited training, lack of systemic school support, and external social stereotypes. Novelty: The study uniquely combines empirical field data with the framework of national education reforms, offering localized strategies rooted in cultural practices and values of Pancasila. Implications: Strengthening teacher training, institutional policies, and whole-school collaboration is essential to building sustainable, inclusive learning environments that reduce racial discrimination from the earliest stages of education.Highlight : Teachers play a vital role in instilling values of tolerance in elementary schools. Abstract

General Background: Mathematics plays a fundamental role in developing logical and systematic thinking skills for elementary students, yet its abstract nature often leads to low engagement and achievement. Specific Background: At SDN 64/II Perumnas 1, third-grade students showed limited understanding of fractions due to lecture-dominated teaching and minimal use of concrete media. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies highlight the benefits of interactive approaches, structured applications of the demonstration method in teaching fractions within the Indonesian primary school context remain underexplored. Aims: This study aimed to improve both the learning process and outcomes in mathematics by applying the demonstration method with concrete, participatory experiences. Results: Conducted as Classroom Action Research in two cycles with 12 students, the findings revealed improvements in teacher performance (from 76.50% to 100%), student engagement (from 0% to 58.33% categorized as “Very Good”), and learning achievement (from 41.66% to 83.33% mastery). Novelty: The study demonstrates that structured use of demonstration—supported by tangible media and active student participation—can effectively transform abstract concepts into meaningful learning experiences within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Implications: These findings suggest that demonstration-based learning enhances conceptual understanding and student participation, providing a practical strategy for primary educators to strengthen mathematics instruction.Highlight : Demonstration method improved learning process and outcomes in fractions. Student engagement shifted from passive to active participation. Learning outcomes increased from 41.66% to 83.33%. Abstract

General Background: The rapid advancement of science and technology in Indonesia has led to a decline in socio-cultural values, creating an urgent need for value-based education to preserve national identity. Specific Background: Social Studies (IPS) is a strategic subject for instilling character, yet current practices insufficiently integrate local historical figures. Prince Hidayatullah, a Banjar leader known for religiosity, courage, patriotism, and social care, represents a culturally relevant role model. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies addressed isolated aspects of his legacy without translating them into a structured, classroom-tested pedagogical model. Aims: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a Social Studies learning model based on Prince Hidayatullah’s character values to enhance students’ social care character. Results: Using the ADDIE design and Classroom Action Research cycles, trials in MTs Ats-Tsuur and SMPN 4 Cianjur showed significant improvements in social care scores (N-gain ≈ 0.76, high category) and student engagement. Novelty: The model uniquely integrates ethnopedagogical principles with historical character values into contextual Social Studies instruction. Implications: Findings support the integration of local historical figures into curricula as an effective approach to strengthening student character, fostering cultural identity, and providing adaptable frameworks for value-based learning across diverse educational contexts.Highlight : Developing a social studies learning model based on the values of Prince Hidayatullah's struggle. Abstract

General Background: Writing is a fundamental language skill that plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical and logical thinking. Specific Background: However, elementary school students often struggle with constructing coherent sentences due to limited vocabulary, lack of structural understanding, and low motivation in writing activities. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies on the Picture and Picture model mainly focused on reading comprehension, with limited exploration of its application in sentence writing, especially within the context of the Kurikulum Merdeka. Aims: This study aims to improve fourth-grade students’ sentence writing skills through the systematic application of the Picture and Picture learning model. Results: Conducted as a classroom action research in two cycles with 25 participants, the findings revealed significant improvements: teacher performance increased from 76.19% to 90.48%, student active participation rose from 24% to 44%, and sentence writing mastery improved from 68% to 84%. Novelty: The novelty lies in integrating the Picture and Picture model with the Kurikulum Merdeka, focusing on visual-based sentence construction in Bahasa Indonesia learning. Implications: These results suggest that Picture and Picture can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy to foster creativity, independence, and linguistic competence in primary education.Highlight : The Picture and Picture model improves sentence writing skills. Students become more active and participative. Learning outcomes increase from Cycle I to Cycle II. Abstract

General Background: English speaking proficiency is a crucial competence for academic communication in foreign language contexts, yet many learners struggle with confidence, vocabulary, and pronunciation when speaking publicly. Specific Background: Classroom oral presentations are widely used to encourage active language use, particularly in bilingual programs where students are expected to communicate in English. Knowledge Gap: Despite their frequent use, limited research has examined students’ perceptions of oral presentations through an integrated cognitive, affective, and conative framework at the junior high school level. Aims: This study explores students’ perceptions of the oral presentation method for developing English speaking ability using Schiffman and Kanuk’s three-component perception model. Results: Findings from semi-structured interviews with four eighth-grade students indicate positive perceptions across all components: cognitively, students reported gains in vocabulary, sentence construction, pronunciation, and idea organization; affectively, initial anxiety gradually shifted into confidence and pride; conatively, students demonstrated strong motivation through deliberate preparation, rehearsal, and preference for presenting in English. Novelty: The study offers a comprehensive perspective by simultaneously examining how students think, feel, and act toward presentation activities rather than focusing solely on skill outcomes. Implications: These findings suggest that oral presentations can serve as a holistic pedagogical strategy that supports linguistic development, emotional readiness, and active learning behavior in English as a foreign language classrooms. Highlights: Learners reported growth in vocabulary use, pronunciation accuracy, and idea organization during classroom tasks. Emotional responses shifted from nervousness to confidence after repeated practice opportunities. Participants showed strong preparation habits, including rehearsal, material mastery, and choosing English for delivery.
