Abstract

General Background: The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has introduced new directions in elementary education, particularly in supporting deep learning through adaptive teaching modules. Specific Background: In practice, the use of AI in instructional design remains closely linked to teachers’ creativity in managing learning activities. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies often examine AI-based modules or teacher creativity separately, leaving limited understanding of their combined role in shaping student engagement in elementary schools. Aims: This study aims to examine the role of AI utilization in developing deep learning teaching modules together with teacher creativity in managing learning toward student engagement in South Bekasi elementary schools. Results: Using a quantitative causal associative design with multiple linear regression analysis, the findings indicate that teacher creativity shows a significant relationship with student engagement, while AI utilization alone does not demonstrate a statistically significant relationship. Simultaneously, both variables account for a substantial proportion of the variation in student engagement. Novelty: This study highlights the combined role of AI-based deep learning modules and teacher creativity as an integrated pedagogical construct rather than isolated factors. Implications: The findings suggest that AI-supported instructional planning requires creative pedagogical management by teachers to foster meaningful student engagement in elementary learning contexts. Highlights • Teacher creativity shows a significant statistical relationship with student engagement• AI-based deep learning modules alone do not demonstrate a significant relationship• Combined variables explain a large proportion of engagement variation in classrooms Keywords Artificial Intelligence; Deep Learning Modules; Teacher Creativity; Student Engagement; Elementary Education

Abstract

General Background: Firm value represents a critical indicator of corporate performance and investor perception in capital markets, particularly in sectors providing essential goods where demand remains relatively stable. Specific Background: The consumer non-cyclical sector in Indonesia demonstrated resilience during the 2019–2023 period despite economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery dynamics. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies report inconsistent findings regarding the relationships between corporate governance, capital structure, profitability, and firm value, while limited empirical research specifically examines these relationships in the consumer non-cyclical sector during the post-pandemic period. Aims: This study investigates the relationships between corporate governance, capital structure, and profitability with firm value in consumer non-cyclical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2019–2023. Results: Using panel data regression with a Random Effect Model on 69 companies and 345 observations, the findings show that capital structure measured by the Debt to Equity Ratio has a significant relationship with firm value measured by Price to Book Value, whereas corporate governance measured by the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard and profitability measured by Return on Assets show no significant relationship individually. However, the variables jointly form a statistically significant regression model. Novelty: The study contributes empirical evidence from the post-COVID-19 economic recovery period with a sector-specific focus on consumer non-cyclical firms, highlighting how financing policies signal market valuation dynamics. Implications: These findings indicate that financing decisions and debt management remain key considerations for investors in assessing firm prospects, while corporate governance implementation and profitability indicators require deeper substantive alignment with business strategy to support long-term corporate valuation. Highlights • Capital structure represented by Debt to Equity Ratio shows a significant relationship with firm valuation.• Governance score and asset-based profitability display insignificant individual relationships with market valuation indicators.• Post-pandemic analysis of 69 Indonesian consumer staple companies reveals financing policy as a dominant market signal. Abstract

General Background: Crime remains a persistent socio-economic challenge in Indonesia, closely associated with disparities in welfare and regional development. Specific Background: Previous studies emphasize income inequality, poverty, education, and unemployment as crime-related factors, yet spatial economic separation has received limited empirical attention within the Indonesian context. Knowledge Gap: Empirical evidence simultaneously examining income inequality and economic segregation over a long provincial panel period in Indonesia remains scarce. Aims: This study examines the relationships between income inequality, economic segregation, and crime rates in Indonesia, while controlling for poverty, education, and unemployment. Results: Using panel data from 34 provinces during 2013–2023 and a Fixed Effects Model with EGLS estimation, the findings indicate that income inequality and poverty are positively associated with crime, while education, unemployment, and economic segregation show negative associations. Economic segregation demonstrates a statistically significant negative relationship with crime, suggesting the presence of social cohesion and informal control mechanisms in economically homogeneous communities. Novelty: The study introduces economic segregation measured by an isolation index within a long-term cross-provincial panel framework, offering contextual evidence from Indonesia. Implications: These results suggest that crime mitigation strategies should not rely solely on income redistribution but also consider spatial economic structures, education development, and community-based social cohesion within inclusive regional planning. Highlights • Income inequality and poverty are positively associated with crime rates across Indonesian provinces.• Economic segregation shows a negative association with crime in economically homogeneous communities.• Education and unemployment patterns reflect the role of informal social control mechanisms. Abstract

General Background: English language competence at the elementary level is widely recognized as a foundational academic skill within globalized education systems. Specific Background: In Indonesian Islamic integrated primary schools, family environment is frequently positioned as a key contextual factor accompanying formal English instruction. Knowledge Gap: Despite extensive theoretical assumptions, empirical evidence remains limited regarding whether variations in family environment categories are statistically associated with English language ability among SDIT students. Aims: This study examined the association between family environment categories and English language ability levels among students at SDIT Al Ihsan South Jakarta. Results: Quantitative analysis using a chi-square test revealed that most students were classified within a moderate family environment category, while English language ability predominantly fell within the high category; however, no statistically significant association was identified between the two variables (p = 0.550). Novelty: The study provides context-specific empirical evidence demonstrating the absence of a statistically meaningful association between categorized family environment and English language ability within an Islamic integrated primary school setting. Implications: These findings suggest that English language achievement at the elementary level should be understood through a broader educational ecosystem, where school-based instructional quality and learner motivation warrant greater analytical attention alongside family-related factors. Highlights • English ability levels remained high across differing family environment categories• Family environment classification showed no statistical association with language outcomes• School-based learning context emerged as a key explanatory consideration Keywords Family Environment; English Language Ability; Islamic Elementary School; Parental Involvement; Primary Education
