Abstract

General Background Schools function as formal educational institutions that are responsible for fostering both academic development and the psychological well-being of young learners. Specific Background Despite this mandate, increasing incidents of bullying, excessive academic pressure, and emotional distress continually threaten the psychological security of elementary students. Knowledge Gap Although the Indonesian government mandated the Child-Friendly School Program to combat these issues, empirical qualitative research examining its direct role in cultivating the specific cognitive and affective dimensions of subjective well-being within real-world elementary settings remains limited. Aims This study describes the role of the Child-Friendly School Program on students’ psychological well-being at SDN Putat Jaya IV/380 Surabaya. Results Utilizing a qualitative case study approach with data from principals, teachers, students, and parents, the analysis revealed that the program effectively minimized negative emotional affect, such as fear and anxiety. Concurrently, it promoted positive affect and life satisfaction by fostering secure learning environments, eliminating physical punishments, and nurturing emotionally supportive teacher-student relationships. Novelty This research distinctly bridges Urie Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory with Ed Diener's subjective well-being framework, demonstrating that structured non-discriminatory institutional policies directly translate into measurable improvements in childhood emotional security and self-confidence. Implications Educational institutions must systematically enforce non-discriminatory disciplinary policies and prioritize empathetic teacher-student communication to sustain a secure psychological climate that optimizes childhood learning experiences. Highlights The Child-Friendly School Program effectively eliminates fear and anxiety by strictly prohibiting physical disciplinary actions. Emotionally supportive teacher-student interactions directly cultivate positive affective experiences and enhance childhood self-confidence. Structured non-discriminatory institutional policies significantly improve the overall subjective well-being of elementary learners. Abstract

General Background Maritime maintenance operations require efficient coordination plus resource administration to preserve operational timelines alongside allocated finances. Specific Background At PT DOK dan Perkapalan Batam, historical documentation indicates persistent scheduling disparities and financial discrepancies across fifteen vessel restoration tasks. Knowledge Gap Conventional control systems often separate physical progress from financial reporting, preventing the early detection of simultaneous time and cost overruns. Aims This research evaluates the temporal and financial performance of fifteen maritime tasks using the Earned Value Management framework. Results Quantitative analysis reveals that all evaluated activities suffered from time extensions and financial expansions, evidenced by negative Schedule Variance alongside Cost Variance values, with performance indices strictly below one. Novelty This study provides a precise empirical demonstration of how fragmented tracking directly causes compounded operational losses in free-trade zone dockyard operations. Implications Maritime industries must transition toward integrated tracking frameworks to proactively mitigate material procurement issues while managing additional technical workloads. Highlights Quantitative EVM assessments indicate continuous time overruns across fifteen evaluated vessel restoration activities. Financial evaluations confirm systemic cost expansions resulting from material procurement issues plus unexpected technical tasks. Integrated tracking frameworks facilitate early detection of resource discrepancies to support proactive mitigation strategies. Abstract

General Background Competition among dental healthcare providers requires robust patient retention strategies. Specific Background Orthodontic treatments involve substantial costs and long-term commitments, making consumer evaluations of clinical environments and brand reputation critical for continued care. Knowledge Gap Previous literature often overlooks the specific mediating mechanisms that connect physical clinical evidence and affordability to long-term behavioral intentions in specialized orthodontic settings. Aims This research analyzes how physical evidence, brand image, service quality, perceived benefits, and affordability shape consumer retention through the mediating role of satisfaction at DSmile Dental Care. Results Based on a Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling analysis of 308 active patients, all evaluated predictors positively determine satisfaction. Physical evidence serves as the strongest determinant of satisfaction (β = 0.434), while satisfaction strongly mediates the transition into long-term patient retention (β = 0.295). Brand image and perceived benefits also directly stimulate long-term retention. Novelty This study highlights that physical clinical facilities function as the primary quality signaling mechanism, surpassing mere brand reputation in establishing trust for high-involvement dental procedures. Implications Dental clinic management must prioritize tangible facility improvements, transparent cost structures, and consistent service delivery to foster sustainable patient retention and satisfaction. Highlights Physical clinical evidence serves as the strongest predictor of consumer satisfaction in orthodontic services. Satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between service attributes and long-term consumer retention. Brand image and perceived benefits directly stimulate patient retention for high-involvement dental procedures. Abstract

General Background: Multicultural Islamic education is expected to accommodate social diversity, justice, and recognition of students’ multiple identities. Specific Background: Female students from ethnic minority groups may encounter unequal learning experiences arising from intersections among gender, ethnicity, religion, and social position within multicultural schools. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies commonly examine gender, ethnicity, and Islamic education separately, while Indonesian multicultural education research remains concentrated on policy and curriculum rather than the subjective experiences of ethnic minority female students. Aims: This qualitative case study examined how intersecting identities shape learning experiences and how multicultural schools in Pekalongan Regency implement inclusive practices, using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, recording, and focus group discussions with 18 informants. Results: The findings revealed symbolic exclusion in learning, majority-culture dominance within the hidden curriculum, and identity stereotypes affecting student participation. Students negotiated these conditions through social adaptation and strengthened religiosity as social capital, while an ambivalence remained between normative multicultural values and pedagogical practice. Novelty: Applying an intersectionality perspective demonstrates how gender, ethnicity, religiosity, and educational settings collectively generate symbolic power relations and identity negotiation in a local Indonesian context. Implications: The findings support intersectional pedagogical transformation, inclusive curriculum development, teacher professional development, and social justice-oriented educational policy. Highlights: Learning settings contained exclusion, majority-culture dominance, and identity stereotypes. Female students negotiated identity through social adaptation and strengthened religiosity. Normative multicultural values remained ambivalent against everyday pedagogical practices. Keywords: Intersectionality, Islamic Education, Ethnic Minority, Multicultural Schools.

Abstract

General Background: Poverty remains a central regional development challenge requiring employment creation, inclusive economic expansion, and adequate fiscal capacity. Specific Background: Bangkalan Regency recorded persistently higher poverty levels than East Java despite changing labor-market conditions, fluctuating economic performance, and rising locally generated revenue. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies reported inconsistent relationships between unemployment, economic growth, fiscal resources, and poverty, requiring location-specific time-series evidence. Aims: This study examines the effects of the open unemployment rate, economic growth, and locally generated revenue on poverty during 2000–2024. Results: A quantitative design used 25 years of secondary data from Statistics Indonesia and the Ministry of Finance, analyzed through multiple linear regression in EViews 12. The model satisfied normality, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, and autocorrelation diagnostics. Collectively, the three predictors were significant, F = 9.566761, p = 0.000350, with an adjusted R² of 0.517105. The open unemployment rate was not significant (β = −0.051679, p = 0.8703), and economic growth was also not significant (β = 0.117414, p = 0.7191). Locally generated revenue showed a significant negative coefficient (β = −0.038981, p = 0.0002). Novelty: The study simultaneously evaluates labor-market, macroeconomic, and fiscal determinants using a 25-year district-level series. Implications: Regional authorities should strengthen fiscal capacity, improve revenue allocation, and direct spending toward infrastructure, education, health, small enterprises, and inclusive economic opportunities. Highlights: Fiscal receipts showed β = −0.038981 with p = 0.0002. Labor-market participation yielded p = 0.8703; output expansion yielded p = 0.7191. The joint model reached p = 0.000350, explaining 51.71% of variance. Keywords: Economic Growth, Local Own Source Revenue, Open Unemployment Rate, Poverty
