Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Minhajul Muta'alim religious study activities held during the month of Ramadan on the development of community entrepreneurship in Banjaranyar Village. Minhajul Muta'alim is a classic reference in Islamic boarding school education that emphasizes values such as honesty, independence, hard work, and blessings in seeking knowledge and sustenance. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that religious study activities during the month of Ramadan have a positive impact on community economic activities, especially in the food and beverage trade sector which is busy before and after the religious study time. The values taught in the book encourage the emergence of an entrepreneurial spirit based on Islamic ethics, such as honesty in transactions, seeking halal sustenance, and making business part of worship. Furthermore, social interactions between students and local traders contribute to strengthening the village's economic network and increasing social solidarity among residents. In this context, Islamic boarding schools serve as spiritual centers that provide motivation and moral values to the community, rather than as direct economic actors. Therefore, it can be concluded that Minhajul Muta'alim recitation plays a strategic role in shaping the entrepreneurial mindset of village residents, who are religious, independent, and oriented toward blessings. This study recommends that similar activities can be used as a strategy for community economic empowerment based on Islamic values.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the quality of graduates from the PRODISTIK MAN 2 Jember Program in terms of their readiness to enter the workforce, including technical and soft skills competencies, contributions from practical training and internships, and the effectiveness of program evaluation. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with purposive informants from graduates, instructors, and administrators. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that graduates' technical competencies are adequate in graphic design, multimedia, and basic programming, but weak in networking and troubleshooting. Soft skills are in the good category. Practical training and internships have a positive impact, but are not yet evenly distributed and are not yet based on competency standards. Program evaluation has been carried out, but does not yet use measurable quality indicators and does not yet systematically involve industry. Overall, graduate quality is adequate, with variations in ability influenced by practical experience and the strength of program quality assurance.

Abstract

This paper discusses the view that Islam does not require its followers to use one particular form of state, such as the caliphate system, and does not require the political unity of Muslims in one unified state. The state system belongs to the realm of muamalah which is ijtihadi and can change according to conditions, not worship which must follow strict provisions. There are no arguments in the Koran and hadith that require a particular state system, so that forms of state other than the caliphate, such as a unitary state based on Pancasila, can be accepted and considered in accordance with the principles of Islamic law. Apart from that, the perfect implementation of all Islamic law in Indonesia is not absolutely mandatory, considering the conditions and the benefit of the nation. Islamic law that has not been implemented does not make Muslims sin because of considerations of benefit and mafsadah. The National Conference of Alim Ulama Nahdlatul Ulama emphasized the importance of maintaining the Republic of Indonesia and Pancasila as a valid national agreement according to Islam, as well as encouraging the government to realize the benefit of the people with the principles of justice and divinity.

Abstract

Praise for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) within the Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) tradition extensively employs majaz (figurative language) as a rhetorical device to convey profound spiritual and educational meanings. However, studies that specifically examine majaz in prophetic praise and its implications for Islamic religious education remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the meanings and functions of majaz in selected texts of praise for the Prophet Muhammad and to examine their implications for Islamic religious education within the Aswaja tradition. This research adopts a qualitative library research method, employing a balaghah analysis of representative prophetic praise texts, examined from the perspective of Aswaja-based Islamic education. The data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques to identify the types, meanings, and functions of majaz and their educational relevance. The findings indicate that majaz in prophetic praise functions not only as an aesthetic linguistic element but also as an effective medium for internalizing love for the Prophet, strengthening faith, and instilling values of moderation and tolerance that characterize the Aswaja tradition. The study concludes that the use of majaz in praise of the Prophet can enrich Islamic religious education, enhance learners’ religious motivation, and contribute to the formation of a moderate and inclusive character grounded in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

Abstract

Takfir (declaring someone an unbeliever) is a highly sensitive theological issue in Islam because it has serious implications for creed, law, and social matters. Reckless practices of takfir, carried out without solid scholarly and methodological foundations, have the potential to cause conflict, disintegration within the Muslim community, and deviation from the principle of caution in Islamic law. This study aims to examine the meaning of kafir and takfir from an Islamic perspective, elaborate on the dangers of baseless takfir practices, and analyze scholars' views regarding the limits and conditions in issuing a kafir verdict on a Muslim. This research uses a library research method, through analysis of primary and secondary sources, including the Qur’an, hadith, and works of classical and contemporary scholars. The study finds that scholars agree on the need for extreme caution regarding the issue of takfir, by establishing strict conditions, such as clarity The clarity of the argument, the delivery of evidence, the absence of coercion, intent, as well as the distinction between the disbelief of an action and the doer of the action. This study emphasizes that a cautious approach in declaring someone an unbeliever (takfir) is part of the effort to maintain the welfare of the community and aligns with the principles of religious moderation (wasathiyyah Islamiyyah). Therefore, a verdict of disbelief cannot be issued lightly and must be entrusted to competent scholarly authorities.

Abstract

Bid'ah is an important term in Islamic studies which refers to any form of innovation in religion that does not have a basis in the Al-Qur'an, Sunnah, ijma', or atsar sahaba. This study aims to outline the meaning, classification and consequences of the practice of heresy according to the perspective of classical and contemporary ulama. Based on a literature review, bid'ah is divided into two main categories: bid'ah hasanah (good innovation) and bid'ah dhalalah (misguided innovation), as described by Imam al-Syafi'i and reinforced by scholars such as al-Ghazali. Bid'ah hasanah includes innovations that support the benefit of the people and do not conflict with sharia principles, such as the codification of the Koran and the establishment of Islamic educational institutions. On the other hand, bid'ah dhalalah is an innovation that distorts the basic teachings of Islam, causes deviations from the creed, and weakens the unity of the people. The consequences of implementing bid'ah in religious practice include theological impacts in the form of deviations from the creed, social impacts in the form of divisions in the community, and moral impacts in the form of a decreased commitment to authentic Islamic teachings. Therefore, a proper understanding of the concept and classification of bid'ah is crucial so that innovation in Islam can be directed toward strengthening sharia values, not distorting them.
