Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools requires students to actively engage in observing, experimenting, and drawing conclusions. However, field practice shows that the implementation of the inquiry model still faces several obstacles, such as limited experimental media and suboptimal use of student worksheets (LKPD). This study aims to describe the implementation of inquiry-based learning in science learning at SDN Babbalan through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that teachers have implemented basic inquiry steps such as asking, investigating, and observing, but the use of supporting media such as interactive student worksheets is still minimal. Learning relies more on conventional student worksheets, thus not encouraging maximum student engagement. These findings demonstrate the importance of developing interactive, inquiry-based student worksheets to make the learning process more engaging, meaningful, and able to enhance students' curiosity and scientific skills. Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar menuntut keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam mengamati, mencoba, dan menarik kesimpulan. Namun, praktik di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model inquiry masih menghadapi beberapa kendala, seperti terbatasnya media eksperimen dan penggunaan LKPD yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi inquiry-based learning pada pembelajaran IPA di SDN Babbalan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menerapkan langkah-langkah inkuiri dasar seperti bertanya, menyelidiki, dan mengamati, namun penggunaan media pendukung seperti LKPD interaktif masih minim. Pembelajaran lebih banyak mengandalkan LKS konvensional sehingga kurang mendorong keterlibatan siswa secara maksimal. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan pentingnya pengembangan LKPD interaktif berbasis inkuiri agar proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik, bermakna, dan mampu meningkatkan rasa ingin tahu serta keterampilan ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

This study was based on the problem of understanding science concepts and the lack of science literacy among students. The purpose of this study was to describe CTL in science learning and its impact on concept understanding at SDN Marengan Laok II. In an effort to obtain a more in-depth picture of the learning process, this study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of teachers and fourth-grade students. The results of the study indicate that CTL helps connect science with real-life experiences, increases student activity, and fosters student curiosity. The main obstacles to the implementation of CTL are the availability of facilities and infrastructure and the allocation of time, but these have been overcome by the creativity of teachers. In conclusion, the CTL-based approach is effective for science learning in elementary schools because it is in line with the characteristics of student development. Penelitian ini didasari oleh masalah pemahaman konsep IPA dan minimnya literasi sains siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan CTL pada pembelajaran IPA dan dampaknya terhadap pemahaman konsep di SDN Marengan Laok II. Dalam upaya memperoleh gambaran yang lebih mendalam mengenai proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru serta peserta didik kelas IV. Dalam upaya memperoleh gambaran yang lebih mendalam mengenai proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru serta peserta didik kelas IV. Hasil penenlitian menyebutkan bahwa CTL membantu mengaitkan IPA dengan pengalaman nyata, meningkatkan aktivitas siswa, dan menumbuhkna rasa ingin tahu siswa. Kendala utama pada penerapan CTL terletak pada  ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana serta alokasi waktu, namusn sudah teratasi dengan kreativitas guru. Kesimpulannya adalah pendekatan berbasis CTL efektiv untuk pembelajaran IPA di Sekolah Dasar karena sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan siswa.

Abstract

Absract: This study aims to describe the effectiveness of implementing the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model with creative torso media in science learning on the human respiratory system material in elementary schools. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation, concept understanding tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that PJBL with creative torso media effectively improved concept understanding, learning outcomes, and positive student responses. Students were actively involved, motivated, and enthusiastic during the learning process. The use of torso media helped students understand the structure and function of respiratory organs concretely. PJBL also encouraged the development of critical thinking skills, collaboration, responsibility, and student creativity. The implementation of PJBL with creative torso media is recommended as an alternative effective science learning model in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the utilization of science learning media at SDN Bangkal 2. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through classroom observations and interviews with the third-grade teacher. The findings indicate that three main types of media are used in the learning process, namely environmental objects, visual images, and projectors. These media were found to be effective in improving students’ understanding of scientific concepts. Environmental objects support students’ learning through direct, hands-on experiences, visual images help clarify abstract material, and projectors provide dynamic visualizations that make learning more engaging. Overall, the use of science learning media at SDN Bangkal 2 has been implemented well and contributes positively to the quality of instruction.

Abstract

Abstract: The Independent Curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning with competency strengthening and meaningful learning. One of the subjects undergoing reform is Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), which integrates scientific and social aspects contextually. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in sixth-grade IPAS learning and the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD) at SDN Bunpenang 1. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with sixth-grade teachers and students as subjects. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that IPAS learning is implemented by emphasizing practical activities and linking the material to everyday life. LKPD plays a role in increasing student learning engagement and independence, although it still needs development to make it more engaging and easier to understand. Overall, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum has gone quite well, although it still faces some challenges.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools requires the use of instructional media to help students understand abstract concepts. However, media utilization is still not optimal due to limited teacher creativity and inconsistent use of learning aids. This study aims to describe the optimization of instructional media in science learning at SDN Pandian I to create meaningful learning experiences. A qualitative method was employed through structured interviews and observations of teachers and media use in the classroom. The findings show that the school provides various media such as worksheets, posters, anatomical models, solar system models, microscopes, and science kits. These media effectively help students grasp concepts concretely, increase motivation, and encourage active participation. Nevertheless, some teachers rarely use them due to time and preparation constraints. Optimizing media use requires improving teacher competence and better lesson planning.

Abstract

IPAS learning in elementary schools requires teaching materials that can present concepts concretely and attractively in accordance with students’ developmental characteristics. One topic that requires strong visual support is metamorphosis, as it involves abstract and chronological stages of change in living organisms. This study aims to examine the development of interactive comic-based IPAS worksheets (LKPD) on complete metamorphosis, incomplete metamorphosis, and non-metamorphosis materials through a literature study approach. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method using library research. Data were collected from various sources, including scientific journals, reference books, and relevant documents related to comics as learning media, LKPD, IPAS learning, and metamorphosis topics. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify concepts, research findings, and principles for developing interactive comic-based LKPD. The results indicate that interactive comics have significant potential to enhance learning motivation, facilitate conceptual understanding, and present metamorphosis material in a structured and concrete manner. Therefore, the development of interactive comic-based IPAS worksheets can serve as an innovative and relevant alternative teaching material to support IPAS learning in third-grade elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze in depth the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning models at SDN Pangarangan III. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through direct observation of the learning process and interviews with classroom teachers regarding model selection, challenges, and results achieved. The results show that SDN Pangarangan III has moved away from one-way interaction patterns and transitioned to innovative models such as Project Based Learning (PjBL) and Discovery Learning. The implementation of PjBL has proven effective in integrating multidimensional IPAS concepts, training problem-solving skills, and developing students' affective and emotional domains through collaboration. Despite challenges such as limited media resources and tight time allocations, teachers have made strategic adjustments to maintain learning effectiveness. This study emphasizes that the analysis and modification of learning models are crucial to ensuring pedagogical practices remain relevant to the independent curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) and the unique needs of students.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) plays a crucial role in understanding the universe through precise observation and systematic procedures. It is crucial that science material be delivered to students appropriately to achieve learning objectives. This study aims to determine the level of students' observation skills in Natural Sciences learning using torso media. The results showed that students were very enthusiastic and enthusiastic in the science learning activities using torso media. Students demonstrated their curiosity by asking several questions to the teacher. This proves that the use of torso media in Natural Sciences learning can improve students' observation skills. Therefore, the use of media in learning must be appropriate. This is because the use of media is one of the factors that contribute to the achievement of learning outcomes.

Abstract

Science learning (IPA) in elementary schools requires active student involvement so that the concepts learned can be understood meaningfully. Third-grade elementary school students are at the concrete operational stage, therefore they need learning media that are concrete in nature. This study aims to describe the use of concrete media in science learning and its impact on students’ understanding of learning materials in grade III of elementary school. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of a third-grade teacher and students of SDN Bangsekol 1. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and analysis of student worksheets (LKPD). The results showed that the use of concrete media such as animal models and live plants was able to increase students’ activeness, motivation, and understanding of the concepts of life cycles and animal body parts. Students were able to remember and explain the learning material more easily because they were directly involved in the learning process. Thus, concrete media proved to be effective for use in science learning for third-grade elementary school students.
