Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan liturgi mahasiswa dan mempererat hubungan antara mahasiswa, pastor, dewan paroki, dan umat melalui partisipasi aktif dalam perayaan Natal di 48 paroki. Kegiatan meliputi dekorasi liturgi, pelayanan misa, kebersihan paroki, serta kegiatan sosial seperti kunjungan kepada lansia dan kaum difabel. Mahasiswa juga terlibat dalam pelatihan misdinar, koor, dan kegiatan sosial di daerah terpencil. Hasilnya, terdapat peningkatan kualitas perayaan Natal dan pelayanan liturgi di paroki. Mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman praktis dalam pelayanan pastoral dan sosial. Dampak positif dirasakan oleh umat yang menerima pelayanan sosial dan mahasiswa yang mengembangkan keterampilan liturgi serta kerjasama tim. Namun, terdapat tantangan dalam koordinasi antar paroki dan keterbatasan waktu yang menghambat keikutsertaan mahasiswa secara maksimal. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan yang lebih matang dan koordinasi yang lebih baik diperlukan untuk keberhasilan kegiatan serupa di masa depan.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PkM) for Pastoral Internship of STP St. Petrus Kefamenanu students was carried out in September 2025 across three communities, Papin, Naen/Lu’lu, and Oelnitep, with the aim of fostering students’ reflective awareness through contextual faith-based service. This program responds to the need for pastoral formation that integrates theology and lived human experience rather than focusing solely on technical activities. This study employs Alfred Schutz’s social phenomenology approach to interpret the meaning of students’ pastoral experiences as encounters of faith that shape reflective and relational awareness. Data were collected through interviews with eight students and three community leaders, accompanied by direct field observation. The results show that the Pastoral Internship serves as a laboratory of faith, nurturing a habitus caritatis, a lifestyle of love grounded in faith reflection and manifested in concrete service. The shared experience between students and parishioners produced a dual transformation: students experienced spiritual growth, while the community underwent renewal of faith through participatory engagement. This program enriches the model of reflective pastoral formation based on social phenomenology, which is highly relevant to the pastoral mission of the local Church in Timor.

Abstract

Interfaith Community Service (PkM) represents a concrete form of dialogical learning for students of the Pastoral Institute (Sekolah Tinggi Pastoral/STP) St. Petrus of the Diocese of Atambua. This activity was carried out on 30–31 March 2025 at Jami’ Al-Muhajirin Mosque (Kefamenanu, TTU) and Al-Falah Kletek Mosque (Malaka), coinciding with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. This article describes the social context, the implementation of the program, and its impact on both students and the local community. The findings indicate that direct encounters through interfaith dialogue, communal work, Eid al-Fitr service, and live-in experiences play a significant role in fostering tolerance and social cohesion. These results align with existing studies on religious moderation and tolerance education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to bridge students’ learning experiences with local culture-based entrepreneurship practices at Jo La Terre Ekafalo Weaving House, Timor Tengah Utara. Students conducted an internship to study production processes, traditional weaving techniques, and the management of culturally-based creative enterprises. Although the activity did not directly intervene in the partner’s operations, the presence of students and lecturers provided several positive impacts, including network enhancement, increased visibility of the partner, external validation, internal reflection on business processes, and additional documentation. This approach emphasizes participatory learning, respect for local practices, and the development of students’ reflective capacities. The activity is expected to serve as a model for academic collaboration that acknowledges partner achievements while providing meaningful learning experiences for students.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity aims to increase the understanding of Catholic Youth in the context of the challenge economy and challenge them to participate in the environment of Bitauni Parish, Santa Maria Intercessor of All Graces, Kiupukan. This devotion was implemented based on the results of a previous study, using the method of Participatory Action Research (PAR) in the form of socialization. The evaluation method used for the activity is a pre-test and post-test for 60 Catholic Youth in the Environment Bitauni. Activity results socialization related challenge economy to participation of Catholic Youth, it is said successful and capable answer objective activity Community Service said, the thing. This shows that with increasing understanding of Catholic Youth to challenges that occur, the emergence of motivation and enthusiasm, as well as existing commitment to participate or be involved in various forms of Activities in the Church and Society. Indicators of success can be seen from improved understanding of Catholic Youth after follow-up activity socialization with improved post-test results compared to understanding early Catholic Youth from pre-test results. Successful activity is also marked by thorough planning, good communication, and collaboration?? among the parties involved. Recommendations from the activity This The parish priest, especially the moderator of Young Catholics, needs to design activities involving Catholic Youth. In addition, it is necessary to exist training and empowerment economy and collaboration as well as communication between the Catholic Youth Administrator environment with Catholic Youth parish and the Catholic Youth environment with others. Abstract

Abstract:  This study examines the implementation of an experiential-based literacy program through a feature writing competition aimed at strengthening students’ literacy skills in North Central Timor Regency. The program was carried out through several stages, including perception alignment, school-based mentoring, writing practice, and evaluation and reflection on the outcomes. The study employed data triangulation through observation, interviews, and analysis of students’ written works. The findings indicate that the experiential learning approach increased students’ engagement, particularly in the affective and reflective dimensions, and supported the development of narrative ideas. However, the study also identified a gap between students’ storytelling abilities and their mastery of journalistic writing techniques, including weaknesses in language use. Nevertheless, the program had a positive impact on students’ self-confidence, motivation, and reflective awareness. The study concludes that experience-based literacy is effective as an entry point for developing contextual literacy. However, this approach still requires continuous reinforcement in technical writing skills and students’ linguistic competence.   Key Words: Experiential learning, Literacy, Feature writing, Narrative competence, Contextual literacy   Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi program literasi berbasis pengalaman melalui lomba penulisan feature untuk memperkuat kemampuan literasi siswa di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Program dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu penyamaan persepsi, pendampingan di sekolah, praktik menulis, serta evaluasi dan refleksi hasil. Penelitian menggunakan triangulasi data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis karya siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan experiential learning meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, terutama pada aspek afektif dan reflektif, serta membantu pengembangan ide naratif. Namun, masih ditemukan kesenjangan antara kemampuan bercerita dan penguasaan teknik jurnalistik, termasuk kelemahan pada aspek kebahasaan. Meski demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kepercayaan diri, motivasi, dan kesadaran reflektif siswa. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa literasi berbasis pengalaman efektif sebagai sarana pengembangan literasi kontekstual. Akan tetapi, pendekatan ini tetap memerlukan penguatan berkelanjutan pada kemampuan teknis penulisan dan kompetensi kebahasaan siswa.   Kata Kunci: experiential learning, literasi, penulisan feature, kompetensi naratif, literasi kontekstual

Abstract

Abstract:   Concerns about the quality of education resonate deeply among education advocates. These grievances raise questions about the future of education. In fact, there are still many heart-wrenching issues in education. In this situation, educational reform is necessary. Various projects have been implemented, but the results have not been optimal. The “banking” style of education continues to prevail. When the budget runs out, mentoring activities stopped, as if education were merely about money. This situation causes the Church’s concern, particularly at the parish and deanery levels. Therefore, efforts to revitalize the education section have become a strategic alternative. This is important because members of the Education Section are pioneers in education. The main issues are the suboptimal quality of education and the lack of a robust system to empower human resources. The method involves ongoing animation and empowerment activities. The focus is on the leaders of the parish and deanery education sections. Through these efforts, hopefully a solid and competent education section team will be formed. They will not only be implementers but also innovators to ensure the sustainability of educational programs without relying on funding. In conclusion, improving the quality of education is not a short-term project, but a serious effort to empower and strengthen human resources. The active role of the education sections in parishes and deaneries, education can proceed in a more sustainable, meaningful, and high-quality manner.   Key Words: animation; empowerment; education section. Abstrak: Kecemasan akan kualitas pendidikan menggema dalam sanubari pemerhati Pendidikan. Keluh kesah tersebut menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang masa depan pendidikan. Ternyata. masih banyak persoalan pendidikan menyayat hati. Dalam situasi ini pembaharuan pendidikan diperlukan. Berbagai proyek telah dilaksanakan namun hasilnya belum maksimal. Pendidikan gaya bank terus bergulir. Ketika anggaran habis, kegiatan pendampingan terhenti seolah pendidikan hanya soal uang. Situasi ini menjadi keprihatinan Gereja khususnya di paroki dan dekenat. Maka upaya animasi bagi seksi pendidikan menjadi salah satu alternatif  strategis. Hal ini penting dilakukan karena anggota Seksi Pendidikan merupakan pionir pendidikan. Masalah utama adalah belum optimalnya kualitas pendidikan dan belum adanya sistem yang kuat untuk memberdayakan sumber daya manusia. Metodenya berupa kegiatan animasi dan pemberdayaan berkelanjutan. Fokus kegiatan ditujukan kepada pengurus seksi pendidikan paroki dan dekenat. Melalui upaya ini diharapkan terbentuk tim seksi pendidikan yang solid dan berkompeten. Mereka tidak hanya menjadi pelaksana tetapi juga inovator yang mampu menjaga keberlanjutan program pendidikan tanpa bergantung pada dana semata. Kesimpulannya, peningkatan kualitas Pendidikan bukan proyek jangka pendek, tetapi. upaya serius dalam memperdayakan dan memperkuat sumber daya manusia. Abstract

Abstract:  This article presents a Community Service program focusing on the accompaniment of Christmas faith inculturation through the Tapoen Li’an Olef ritual among the Catholic community of Oelnitep Chapel, Saint John the Baptist Parish Naesleu, within the Atoni Pah Meto cultural context. The program responds to the gap between the liturgical celebration of Christmas and the lived faith experience expressed in local birth rituals. Although Tapoen Li’an Olef continues to be practiced as a cultural tradition, it has rarely been accompanied by explicit Christian theological reflection, limiting its potential as a medium for faith formation. This community engagement aimed to bridge faith and culture through an inculturative pastoral accompaniment integrated into the Advent season and Christmas celebrations. A participatory qualitative approach was employed, including contextual liturgical reflections, symbolic interpretation of ritual elements, interviews with traditional leaders, participatory observation, and the guided enactment of the ritual grounded in Catholic theology. The results indicate increased awareness among the faithful regarding the meaning of Christmas inculturation, greater appreciation of local traditions as legitimate expressions of Christian faith, and active participation across generations. The study affirms that when accompanied reflectively and theologically, the Tapoen Li’an Olef ritual becomes a meaningful space for evangelization, deepens the celebration of Christmas, and strengthens the Church’s identity as rooted in local culture. Key Words: faith inculturation, Christmas, Tapoen Li’an Olef, Atoni Pah Meto culture, community service   Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) berupa pendampingan inkulturasi iman Natal melalui ritual Tapoen Li’an Olef pada umat Kapela Oelnitep, Paroki Santo Yohanes Pemandi Naesleu, dalam konteks budaya Atoni Pah Meto. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah adanya jarak antara perayaan Natal sebagai peristiwa liturgis Gereja dan penghayatan iman umat dalam ritual kelahiran yang hidup dalam budaya lokal. Ritual Tapoen Li’an Olef selama ini dijalankan sebagai tradisi adat tanpa pendampingan iman Kristiani yang memadai, sehingga potensinya sebagai sarana penghayatan iman belum tergarap secara optimal. Kegiatan ini bertujuan menjembatani iman dan budaya melalui pendampingan inkulturatif yang terintegrasi dengan masa Adven dan perayaan Natal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan kualitatif melalui renungan liturgis kontekstual, refleksi simbol ritual, wawancara tokoh adat, observasi partisipatif serta pelaksanaan ritual yang disertai pendasaran teologis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman umat terhadap makna inkulturasi iman Natal, tumbuhnya sikap apresiatif terhadap tradisi lokal sebagai sarana penghayatan iman serta keterlibatan aktif umat lintas generasi. Kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa ritual Tapoen Li’an Olef, ketika didampingi secara reflektif dan teologis dapat menjadi ruang pewartaan iman yang kontekstual, memperkaya penghayatan Natal dan memperkuat identitas Gereja yang berakar pada budaya lokal. Abstract

Abstract: Liturgical formation is rarely conducted in the Diocese of Atambua. Consequently, not all members of the faithful—including the clergy, religious, and especially the laity—possess a comprehensive understanding of the liturgy, which is constantly evolving through ongoing renewal. A seminar to explore and implement the apostolic letter Desiderio Desideravi can enhance the understanding of the faithful in the Diocese of Atambua regarding the importance of liturgical formation. This seminar is conducted using lecture and question-and-answer methods. The benefit is that it can supplement the faithful’s still limited knowledge, while simultaneously fostering their determination to carry out liturgical formation in their parishes/stations so that all the faithful can participate actively, consciously, and fully when attending liturgical celebrations. Key Words: Diocese of Atambua; Liturgical Formation; Apostolic Letter of Desiderio Desideravi   Abstrak: Formasio liturgi jarang dilaksanakan di Keuskupan Atambua. Karena itu tidak semua umat, baik klerus dan religius maupun terutama kaum awam, memiliki pengetahuan yang lengkap tentang liturgi yang sedang berubah karena terus-menerus diperbaharui. Kegiatan seminar untuk mendalami dan mengumplementasikan surat apostolik Desiderio Desideravi dapat meningkatkan pemahaman umat Keuskupan Atambua akan pentingnya formasio liturgi. Kegiatan seminar ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab. Faedahnya ialah dapat melengkapi pengetahuan umat yang masih minim, dan sekaligus menumbuhkan tekad mereka untuk melakukan formasio liturgi di Paroki/Stasi sehingga seluruh umat dapat berpartisipasi aktif, sadar dan penuh ketika menghadiri perayaan liturgi. Abstract: The lector and the psalmist are liturgical ministers in the celebration of Mass. The lector reads the readings before the Gospel reading. The psalmist sings the responsorial psalm. Both proclaim the word of God from the pulpit. Liturgical formation provided for the lectors and psalmists of the St. Dominic Lekafehan Station can foster and enhance their knowledge and understanding so that they can carry out their ministry duties well and correctly according to liturgical rules. This liturgical formation is very important because it can build their motivation and determination to continuously practice so that they can read or sing the word of God well and correctly, and thus the congregation can understand and live the word of God that they hear, and then can be able to realize it in their daily lives. Key Words: Liturgical formation, lector and psalmist, Stasi Santo Dominikus Lakafehan Abstrak: Lektor dan pemazmur adalah pelayan liturgi dalam perayaan misa. Lektor membacakan bacaan-bacaan sebelum bacaan Injil. Pemazmur menyanyikan mazmur tanggapan. Keduanya mewartakan sabda Allah di mimbar sabda. Penyuluhan liturgi yang diselenggarakan bagi lektor dan pemazmur Stasi Santo Dominikus Lekafehan dapat menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman bagi mereka agar mereka dapat menunaikan tugas pelayanan secara baik dan benar menurut kaidah-kaidah liturgi. Penyuluhan liturgi ini sangat penting dilaksanakan karena dapat membangun motivasi dan tekad mereka untuk terus-menerus berlatih agar dapat membacakan atau menyanyikan sabda Allah secara baik dan benar, dan dengan demikian umat dapat memahami dan menghayati sabda Allah yang didengarnya, dan kemudian dapat mewujudkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
