Abstract

The development of social media has changed the social interaction patterns of urban communities, causing a shift from face-to-face interactions to flexible, extensive, and sometimes fragmented digital interactions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to analyze the impact of social media on social cohesion, focusing on the dynamics of interaction, sense of belonging, and solidarity in urban environments. The literature review highlights that social media can strengthen social networks, facilitate community mobilization, and build new social identities, but also has the potential to create pseudo-cohesion, digital segregation, and social polarization. The analysis shows that digital social cohesion depends on the intensity, depth, and space of interactions, and is influenced by cultural context, community norms, and urban heterogeneity. Research gaps are seen in understanding the resilience of digital cohesion, cross-generational interactions, and the integration of digital cohesion with traditional cohesion. This study concludes that the integration of classical sociological perspectives and contemporary digital communication is important for understanding the changing structure of urban social relations. The results of the study provide a conceptual foundation for further research and social interventions that can strengthen social networks in the digital era

Abstract

This study explores the role of local wisdom in building social resilience in Indonesia through a socio-cultural approach, focusing on community adaptation to the global crisis. Using a qualitative research method based on a literature review, this study identifies, analyzes, and synthesizes findings from scientific journals, books, and academic articles related to local wisdom, social capital, and community resilience. Thematic analysis emphasizes that local values such as mutual cooperation, deliberation and consensus, and communal solidarity strengthen social networks, shape collective identity, and facilitate the adaptive capacity of communities in facing external pressures, including pandemics, climate change, and socio-economic disruptions. The findings also indicate that modernization and globalization pose challenges and opportunities for the transformation of local values to remain relevant as adaptive strategies. Based on the literature synthesis, this study proposes an integrative conceptual framework that systematically links local wisdom values, social mechanisms, and social resilience outcomes. This study fills a gap in the literature, particularly the lack of conceptual models linking local culture to social resilience in a global and modernizing context. The research results provide theoretical implications for expanding the study of social resilience as well as practical recommendations for the development of sustainable local culture-based community policies and programs

Abstract

The digital economy has become a catalyst for structural changes in businesses, significantly impacting the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia by improving market access, operational efficiency, and financial inclusion. This study uses a qualitative approach based on a literature review to integrate empirical and conceptual findings related to the adoption of digital platforms, electronic payment services, digital literacy, and relevant government policies. Thematic synthesis reveals that digital technology adoption accelerates the expansion of consumer reach and enables more efficient supply chain management, but disparities in literacy and infrastructure are key barriers that reduce potential benefits for some MSMEs. The role of fintech and digital payment services increases financial inclusion but demands managerial capacity and data protection. Targeted policy interventions—including training, digital financing facilitation, and infrastructure development—appear crucial to narrowing the adoption gap. The findings highlight the need for regular evaluation of digitalization programs to align them with local needs and business characteristics. Research recommendations include longitudinal studies to measure the long-term effects of digitalization on productivity, business resilience, and local economic equity. The results of this study provide a policy basis for improving the effectiveness of MSME digital transformation.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of social capital in urban communities in the digital era through a literature review of recent scientific publications. The main focus is mapping changes in the structure of social relations, patterns of social solidarity, and community participation due to the digitalization of social interactions. The review process included identification, selection, and thematic analysis of literature related to social capital, community digitalization, solidarity, and social participation from various national and international journals. The findings indicate that digitalization expands social networks but tends to weaken the depth of interpersonal relationships, and shifts the mechanisms of solidarity formation to issue-based and more symbolic digital participation. The results also highlight the challenges of digital literacy and the gap in technology access that affect the distribution of social capital in urban communities. This article presents an argumentative synthesis of the changing dimensions of social capital and its implications for urban social cohesion. This research is expected to serve as a conceptual foundation for further empirical research and for the formulation of inclusive digital interaction-based social policies. The findings demonstrate the urgency of integrating online and offline relationships to strengthen the social capital of urban communities sustainably.

Abstract

This study explores the social vulnerability of productive-age groups to post-pandemic economic uncertainty through a comprehensive literature review. The study's primary focus is on labor dynamics, regional inequality, and the structural impacts of labor market changes following the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a systematic review of recent scientific publications and empirical reports, the study identifies vulnerability patterns associated with job insecurity, the vulnerability of informal workers, and differences in experiences across regions. Findings indicate that productive-age groups experience multidimensional vulnerability rooted in job instability, limited social protection, and disparities in access to employment opportunities influenced by regional characteristics. The literature also highlights how pre-pandemic inequalities contribute to differential impacts across demographic groups, including urban versus rural populations. The synthesis of findings demonstrates the need for adaptive labor policies and more inclusive social protection to mitigate this vulnerability. This study emphasizes that understanding social vulnerability must consider the interplay of economic and geospatial factors to support policy formulation responsive to post-pandemic realities.

Abstract

This study examines changes in teacher-student interaction patterns in the context of digital learning and their impact on student motivation and engagement through a literature review approach. A systematic review of scientific publications from the past five years was conducted to identify the dynamics of technology-mediated pedagogical interactions and their consequences on student motivation and engagement in the learning process. The findings indicate that effective interactions in digital environments are positively correlated with student motivation and engagement, particularly through two-way communication, responsive feedback, and technology-based interactive strategies. Variations in pedagogical strategies and teachers' digital literacy readiness are key determinants of the quality of interactive relationships in digital learning. Furthermore, student engagement is measured through affective, cognitive, and behavioral indicators that are influenced by the quality of teacher-student interactions. The literature also indicates that challenges such as limited access to technology and lack of emotional support can hinder motivation and engagement. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening pedagogical interactions in digital learning design to improve student learning outcomes. The implications of these findings are suggested as a reference for developing more humanistic and impactful digital education practices.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of public trust in artificial intelligence (AI)-based information in digital media through a qualitative approach in the form of a literature review. The study focuses on three main aspects: the mechanism of public trust formation in AI content, the role of audience communication literacy in interpreting and assessing message credibility, and the impact of trust-literacy interactions on the dynamics of contemporary digital communication. Literature findings indicate that audience perceptions of the credibility of AI information are influenced by technological factors, previous media experience, and communication literacy levels, which collectively form a dynamic and heterogeneous trust structure. Communication literacy has been shown to be an important mediator in strengthening audiences' ability to evaluate and verify information, thereby reducing vulnerability to misinformation. The implications of this study emphasize that strengthening communication literacy and transparency in the use of AI by the media are prerequisites for the formation of rational and sustainable trust. The study's conclusions provide conceptual contributions to the development of ethical digital communication strategies and audience capacity building in the AI era.
