Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a significant tool in the management of COVID-19 patients, with applications ranging from initial diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, to hospital logistics management. Machine learning and deep learning technologies have enabled rapid and accurate analysis of radiological images and patient data, while AI predictive applications facilitate more personalised and eflective treatment planning. However, the application of AI in this context is faced with challenges such as data privacy, information security, and integration with existing health systems. While oflering great potential, the use of AI must be carefully regulated to ensure its safe and ethical use, as well as its acceptance by medical personnel and the public.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of preparing young people as environmental health ambassadors through education and active involvement in activities that support environmental sustainability. Formal education in schools serves as the main foundation in raising environmental awareness, while the role of community and family strengthens the application of environmental values in daily life. In addition, support from the government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through training programmes and campaigns is crucial to provide a platform that enables the younger generation to contribute to environmental conservation. With a comprehensive and synergistic strategy, young people can be empowered to become agents of change dedicated to maintaining and improving environmental health.

Abstract

The application of nanomedicine technology in the treatment of chronic diseases shows a very promising potential to revolutionise conventional therapeutic approaches. Through their ability to improve drug bioavailability, more precise targeting, and controlled drug delivery, nanomedicines open up new opportunities in the management of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The advantages of nanomedicines in overcoming biological barriers, improving drug efficacy, and reducing side eflects provide new hope for patients suflering from chronic diseases that have been difficult to treat with conventional methods. However, despite its great potential, the application of nanomedicines still faces significant challenges. Long-term safety issues, complexity in production and regulation, and high development costs are still major barriers to the widespread adoption of this technology. Further research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the development of a comprehensive regulatory framework are required to overcome these challenges. With continued eflorts in overcoming the existing barriers, nanomedicine has the potential to transform the landscape of chronic disease treatment, oflering more eflective and personalised solutions to millions of patients worldwide.

Abstract

3D printing technology has revolutionised healthcare, particularly in prosthetics and implants. This research examines the role and impact of 3D printing in developing medical solutions tailored to individual patient needs. The method used included a literature review. Results show that 3D printing enables more accurate, efficient and aflordable prosthetics and implants. The technology also oflers high design flexibility, enabling the creation of complex structures that are difficult to achieve with conventional methods. In addition, the integration of biocompatible materials and sensor technology opens up opportunities for more functional and responsive implants. Despite challenges such as regulation and standardisation, 3D printing has the potential to change the paradigm in healthcare, improve patients' quality of life, and pave the way for future medical innovations. Further research is needed to optimise materials, improve manufacturing precision, and address ethical and accessibility issues.

Abstract

Backgorund : According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 100 thousand children die from diarrhea, 25.5% of deaths in children aged 4-11 years are caused by diarrhea. 40 to 60% of children's diarrhea is caused by rota virus contamination by not washing their hands. WHO states that washing hands with soap can reduce diarrhea rates by up to 47% (WHO, 2018). Efforts to prevent diarrhea can be done by implementing the habit of washing hands with soap (CTPS) for elementary school age children. Objective : The main aim of this research is to determine the effect of health education using the demonstration method on CTPS knowledge, attitudes and skills among students at SDN 022 Balikpapan. Methods : This research uses a one group pretest-posttest design. The location of this research was SDN 022 Balikpapan. The respondents in this research were 29 students. Result : The results of this study show that there are differences in knowledge, attitudes and skills after being given the intervention with the Wilcoxon test p-value 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion : So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the knowledge, attitudes and skills of respondents between before and after being given research intervention using the demonstration method.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease that is one of the chronic diseases caused by insufficient insulin production by the pancreas that cannot be used effectively by the body. According to WHO 2020, there are 422 million people with Diabetes Mellitus in the world, while the prevalence in Indonesia reaches 10.6% of the total population of 179.2 million. East Kalimantan Province has a prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus of 2.26% and Samarinda city has a prevalence of 3.04%. Objective: This study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with dietary compliance of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Methods: This study used quantitative research with an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda as many as 35 respondents. The sample used is from the calculation of the Total Sampling technique, which is 35 respondents. Data analysis used in the variables of knowledge, attitude and compliance is the Gamma test. Results: The results of the Gamma test show that there is a relationship between knowledge and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance with a p-value = 0.003 (<0.005) which means there is a significant relationship. While the results of the relationship between attitude and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance get a p-value = 0.010 (<0.005) which means there is a significant relationship between attitude and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and attitude with dietary compliance of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Suggestion: It is hoped to increase knowledge and attitudes about Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance by adjusting eating patterns to manage blood sugar levels in the body and prevent complications from Type II Diabetes Mellitus.

The revolution in health monitoring is characterised by the utilisation of digital technologies, including mobile apps and wearable devices, which enable real-time health monitoring. These technologies help individuals track various health indicators such as physical activity, nutritional intake, and sleep quality, and provide medical professionals with valuable data for more precise diagnosis and treatment. In addition, telemedicine expands healthcare access through remote consultations and improves adherence to treatment plans with reminders and early alerts. Overall, these innovations give individuals more control over their own health and strengthen interactions with healthcare providers.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an infection of the kidney, ureter, bladder, or urethra. UTI is more common in women than men due to anatomical differences, while in men it is often associated with factors such as an enlarged prostate or catheter use. Antibiotics are used to kill or inhibit the bacteria that cause the infection. This study aims to assess the pattern of rational antibiotic use, including appropriate therapy, appropriate patient, appropriate indication, appropriate drug, appropriate dose, and appropriate optimal treatment duration. This research method is observational with a descriptive design and retrospective data collection. This study was conducted on 50 patients with urinary tract infections. The results of this study show an evaluation of the appropriateness of antibiotic drug use obtained, namely appropriate patients with a percentage of 100%, appropriate indications 100%, appropriate drugs 100%, appropriate doses 100% and appropriate duration of treatment with a percentage of 100%.

Abstract

Asma adalah penyakit kronis saluran pernapasan yang ditandai dengan inflamasi, peningkatan reaktivitas terhadap berbagai stimulus, dan penyempitan saluran napas yang bisa kembali secara spontan atau jika mengkonsumsi obat yang tepat. Data dari Word Health Organization tahun 2019 menyatakan bahwa jumlah penderita asma didunia mencapai 300 juta orang penyebab kesakitan (morbiditas) bersama-sama dengan bronkitis kronik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian observasional dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian secara deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif pada pasien ASMA di Rumah Sakit Tk. Iv. 01.07.01 Pematang Siantar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan obat pada pasien ASMA di Rumah Sakit Tk. Iv. 01.07.01 Pematang Siantar. Sampel penelitian ini adalah resep pasien ASMA dan rekam medis. Resep yang akan teliti disesuaikan dengan rekam medik. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan sistem komputer Ms Excel kemudian disajikan dalam distribusi frekuensi. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil evaluasi ketepatan penggunaan obat pada pasien asma yaitu tepat obat 96 pasien mencapai 100%, tepat pasien 96 pasien mencapai 100%, tepat indikasi96 pasien mencapai 100%, tepat dosis 96 pasien mencapai 100% dan tepat cara pemberian 96 pasien mencapai 100%. evaluasi penggunaan obat asma mendapatkan 2 jenis golongan obat asma yakni bronkodilator dan kortikosteroid

Abstract

Drug management includes planning, storage and distribution is one of the important tasks of the UPTD Pharmacy Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office. Drug management includes planning, storage and distribution is one of the important tasks of the UPTD Pharmacy Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office. Poor drug management will have a negative impact on service quality. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the management of program drugs for Human Immunodefeciency Virus (HIV) in 2023 at the UPTD Pharmacy Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office. The research was conducted in July - August 2024. This research is descriptive with data obtained retrospectively and concurrently. The data obtained were analyzed using indicators and compared with the results of the study. The results showed that the planning, storage and distribution of HIV program drugs at the UPTD Pharmacy Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office had not fully met the standard indicators. This is indicated by 3 indicators that have not met the standards, namely the level of drug availability; percentage of expired drugs; average drug vacancy time and 1 indicator has met the standards, namely the drug storage system. The conclusion of this study is that drug planning at the UPTD Pharmaceutical Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office is planned based on the average use of drugs for 3 months. Drug storage uses the First In First Out (FIFO) / First Expired First Out (FEFO) system. The distribution of drugs at the UPTD Pharmaceutical Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Office is based on requests made by the person in charge of drugs at Puskesmas, Clinics and Hospitals through the SIHA 2.1 application. The destruction of drugs at the UPTD Pharmacy Installation of the Pematangsiantar City Health Service will be carried out in 2021 and at this time there are no known plans for the further destruction of drugs.
