Abstract

Urban farming is an agricultural innovation that is rapidly developing in urban areas in response to land constraints and increasing food demand. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of three main urban farming technologies, namely hydroponics, vertical farming, and aquaponics, through a literature review. The analysis results indicate that hydroponics offers optimal water use efficiency and nutrient control, resulting in high-quality yields on limited land. Vertical farming maximises the use of vertical space, increases productivity, and provides aesthetic value to the urban environment. Meanwhile, aquaponics integrates fish farming and plant cultivation in a closed system, producing two commodities simultaneously while conserving water and land resources. Although these three technologies have significant advantages, challenges such as initial investment requirements, dependence on electricity and clean water, and the need for technical knowledge remain major obstacles. Policy support, training, and cross-sector collaboration are essential to expand the adoption and sustainability of urban farming technologies in urban areas. Overall, innovations in hydroponic, vertical farming, and aquaponics technologies have the potential to become strategic solutions for achieving food, economic, and environmental sustainability in the future.

Abstract

Organic farming offers many benefits in supporting sustainable food security. Through environmentally friendly and synthetic chemical-free practices, organic farming maintains ecosystem health, improves soil fertility, and reduces negative impacts on the environment. In addition to its ecological benefits, the system also supports local economies by providing fairer returns to farmers and creating jobs, which in turn strengthens rural communities. Organic farming also plays an important role in education and awareness-raising about the importance of sustainable practices, thus preparing communities to face future challenges. Thus, organic farming contributes significantly to building sustainable food security that is ecologically, economically, and socially beneficial.

Abstract

Technological innovation plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable agriculture through advanced solutions that address challenges in the sector. The application of technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data enables real-time monitoring of soil, weather, and crop conditions, which helps farmers in efficient resource management and smart decision-making. In addition, these technologies contribute to reducing environmental impacts by optimising the use of water, fertilisers and pesticides through precision farming practices. Nonetheless, challenges in technology adoption, such as high costs and lack of technical knowledge, remain. Collaboration between government, industry, and educational institutions is needed to provide financial support and training to farmers, so that technological innovations can generate sustainable benefits for the agricultural sector and society at large.

Abstract

This study examines the conflict between customary law and human rights standards, focusing on the practice of customary punishment and gender equality issues through a literature review method. Customary law, which is deeply rooted in community traditions, often conflicts with human rights principles that demand the protection of individual rights without discrimination, especially in the implementation of customary punishments that can violate the rights to freedom and physical integrity. In addition, the patriarchal structure of customary law creates gender inequality that hinders the rights of women and other gender groups in various aspects of life. This study presents a critical analysis of existing literature to understand the dimensions of this conflict and find common ground between local cultural norms and universal human rights principles. The results of the study indicate the need for inclusive and dialogical reform of customary law, respecting local wisdom without neglecting human rights, as an effort towards a fair, inclusive, and sustainable legal system.

Abstract

This study examines tax policies in Indonesia's financial services sector and their implications for tax compliance and industry growth. The financial services sector, which includes banking, insurance, capital markets, and fintech, plays an important role in the national economy, so effective taxation policies are needed to support the industry's sustainability and competitiveness. Through a literature review approach, this study analyses various applicable tax regulations, implementation challenges, and the impact of these policies on taxpayer compliance behaviour and business growth dynamics. The results of the study show that transparent, fair tax policies accompanied by incentives can increase tax compliance and encourage innovation and expansion in the financial services industry. Conversely, regulatory complexity and high administrative burdens can reduce compliance rates and hamper sector growth. This study recommends the continuous evaluation and refinement of tax policies with the involvement of stakeholders to create a healthy taxation ecosystem that optimally supports the development of Indonesia's financial services industry.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have changed the way political campaigns are conducted, enabling the use of big data and advanced analytics to understand and influence voters. The review in this research uses the literature method. The results show that the use of data and analytics can improve campaign efficiency and the effectiveness of political messages. However, there are also ethical challenges such as privacy concerns, the risk of manipulation, and the potential for increased political polarisation. In conclusion, although data and analytics provide great opportunities to improve campaign strategies, their use must be balanced with appropriate ethical and regulatory considerations.

Abstract

The empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through digital marketing is becoming an increasingly relevant topic in the context of technological development and globalisation. The purpose of this literature review is to understand the impact and benefits offered by digital marketing for MSMEs. The literature analysed shows that digital marketing allows MSMEs to reach a wider market at a lower cost than traditional methods. In addition, digital marketing provides the ability to target audiences more specifically, as well as providing analytics tools to monitor marketing performance in a timely manner. Another advantage identified is the improvement of MSME entrepreneurs' skills and knowledge of digital technology, which in turn increases their capacity and competence in innovating and developing products. By utilising digital marketing, MSMEs can become more competitive and resilient in the face of fast-changing market dynamics. This digital transformation not only supports inclusive economic growth but also strengthens the overall MSME business ecosystem, positively contributing to their sustainability and future development.

Abstract

Pro-child policy is an important initiative in protecting and ensuring the welfare of the nation's next generation from the threat of violence, neglect and exploitation. A pro- child policy is a set of measures, regulations, programmes and initiatives designed and implemented by governments, institutions or organisations with the primary aim of protecting, promoting and fulfilling children's rights. It focuses on the best interests of children in various aspects of life, including health, education, security and well-being. The ultimate goal is to create a safe, supportive and conducive environment for children's optimal growth and development, and to protect them from various forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation. Pro-child policies include efforts to strengthen child protection systems, improve access to basic services, and ensure children's participation in decisions that affect their lives. With that, effective and sustainable pro- child policies not only protect children from immediate threats but also contribute to the long-term development of human capital, which is critical to the progress and sustainability of a nation.
