Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public's understanding of the profit-sharing ratio (nisbah) in mudharabah at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Gatot Subroto, Jambi City. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Participants included bank customers and employees, providing insights into their understanding of the nisbah mechanism in mudharabah products. The results indicate that the public's understanding varies, with most customers recognizing the importance of nisbah as an indicator of profit sharing. However, there are still gaps in understanding the detailed mechanisms and calculations of nisbah. This research suggests the need for further education for the community on the technical aspects of mudharabah, enabling customers to make more informed and prudent decisions when choosing sharia financial products. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to enhancing financial literacy in the community.

Abstract

The sharia business model is a business system based on Islamic values such as justice, honesty, and social responsibility. In the digital era, this model has undergone significant transformation due to advances in information technology that have changed patterns of business interaction and transactions. Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population, has great potential to develop a digital sharia economy, yet still faces several challenges such as low digital sharia literacy, unadaptive regulations, and limited human resources. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the aim of identifying opportunities and challenges in developing sharia business models in the digital era. The results show that digitalization offers great potential for strengthening the sharia economy, but it must be supported by increased literacy, innovation-friendly regulations, and the development of competent human resources so that sharia businesses can grow sustainably and remain competitive in the digital age.

Abstract

The Sharia management system is a governance approach for financial institutions based on Islamic values that prohibit usury (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (speculation). This system encompasses not only the regulation of financial products but also holistic governance practices, including organizational structure, decision-making processes, supervision, and performance evaluation guided by Islamic principles. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of Sharia management system implementation in managing Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia, including both banking and non-banking sectors. A qualitative approach and descriptive method are used to explore how principles such as justice, trustworthiness, consultation, and social responsibility are embedded in managerial practices. Findings reveal that effectiveness is largely influenced by three main factors: the consistent application of Sharia principles, the competency of human resources, and the presence of strong internal and external oversight mechanisms. Despite its potential to provide ethical and sustainable financial solutions, Sharia management faces challenges including legal dualism, limited innovative product development, and low public literacy on Islamic finance. Therefore, strategic efforts such as managerial training, incorporation of Sharia management in higher education curricula, and supportive public policies are essential to enhance the effectiveness and resilience of Islamic financial institutions in the long term.
