Abstract

The research objective is to evaluate the effect of environmental corporate governance on firm performance measured by return on assets. The independent variables consist of environmental performance, board gender diversity, institutional ownership, agency costs, and board environmental committee. This study involved 260 observations of 52 Indonesian companies from the energy sector in the 2018-2022 period. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between environmental performance and board environmental committee on firm performance of Indonesian companies in the energy sector. Meanwhile, board gender diversity and institutional ownership show no significant relationship to firm performance of Indonesian companies in the energy sector. Lastly, low agency costs are proven to show a significant relationship towards firm performance. In this research, agency cost measured by total asset turnover significantly improves the firm’s return on assets. The results of this study provide additional knowledge about the relationship between environmental corporate governance towards firm performance.

Abstract

The Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) claims reserve is a crucial component in maintaining the financial stability of insurance companies. However, traditional deterministic approaches such as the Chain-Ladder method provide point estimates based on historical claim development patterns but do not capture the uncertainty inherent in future claim outcomes. As claim data often exhibit variability across development periods, stochastic approaches are required to quantify this uncertainty and improve the reliability of reserve estimates. Among various stochastic reserving methods, the bootstrap approach is particularly suitable due to its simplicity and direct compatibility with the traditional Chain-Ladder framework. However, empirical applications of bootstrap-based reserving methods in Indonesian motor vehicle insurance remain limited. This study addresses this gap by applying the Bootstrap Chain-Ladder method as a stochastic extension and comparing its performance with the conventional deterministic approach. Using semiannual motor vehicle claim data from PT Asuransi XYZ over the period 2019–2023, the deterministic Chain-Ladder method produced an IBNR estimate of Rp 40.17 billion, while the Bootstrap Chain-Ladder resulted in an estimate of Rp 40.94 billion, reflecting the incorporation of variability in the estimation process. Although the deterministic approach achieved slightly lower prediction errors, as measured by Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), the bootstrap method generated a more conservative estimate and provided additional insight into reserve uncertainty. These findings suggest that integrating stochastic elements into traditional reserving frameworks enhances financial prudence while maintaining practical applicability in the general insurance industry.

Abstract

The aims of this study to analyze the influence of 91) the use of information technology on work motivation, (2) the use of information technology on employee performance, (3) employee work motivation on employee performance, and (4) the use of information technology on employee performance mediated by motivation work of employees of the Surabaya City Library and Archives Service. This research is explanatory research. The population used in this research were employees of the Surabaya City Library and Archives Service as a sample of 195 employees. The research was carried out by providing a questionnaire that represented the research variables. Data obtained was analyzed using the SEM (Structural Equation Model) method in AMOS 21 software. The results obtained from this research are (1) there is an influence of the use of information technology on work motivation, (2) there is an influence of the use of information technology in employee performance, (3) there is an influence of employee work motivation on employee performance, and (4) the influence of the use of information technology on employee performance is not mediated by the work motivation of employees of the Surabaya City Library and Archives Service.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study examines the effect of scarcity message, fear of missing out (FOMO), and social persuasive technology on impulse buying behavior among Generation Z consumers in Indonesia’s fast fashion industry. As digital natives, Generation Z consumers are highly responsive to marketing stimuli and social interactions in digital environments. Background Problems: Despite growing literature on impulse buying behavior, limited studies examine how scarcity message, FOMO, and social persuasive technology jointly influence impulse buying among Generation Z consumers in fast fashion. Novelty: This study integrates these variables into a single empirical model to explain impulse buying behavior among Generation Z consumers, addressing limited research examining these factors together. Research Methods: This study uses a quantitative survey using data from 211 Generation Z consumers who purchased fast fashion products. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Finding/Results: Results show scarcity message, FOMO, and social persuasive technology have positive and significant effects on impulse buying behavior, with social persuasive technology emerging as the strongest predictor. Conclusion: The findings highlight the role of digital-social persuasion in shaping impulse buying among Generation Z and provide theoretical contributions to Marketing 5.0 and implications for fast fashion marketers.

Abstract

This study synthesizes a decade of empirical evidence on how Dynamic Capabilities (DC), Organizational Agility (OA), Agile Mindset (AM), and Firm Performance (FP) interact in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Although dynamic capabilities and organizational agility are widely studied, existing research largely overlooks the cognitive and behavioral conditions that enable these capabilities to function effectively. Using a systematic literature review of 61 peer-reviewed articles (2014–2025) following PRISMA 2020 protocol, with thematic synthesis and VOSviewer bibliometric mapping, this study finds that organizational agility mediates the DC–FP relationship in 55.7% of reviewed studies, but only when an agile mindset is present. Among studies examining agile mindset, 73.7% confirmed its role as a behavioral moderator rather than a standalone variable. This review proposes that sustainable agility in SMEs demands both structural dynamic capabilities and the deliberate cultivation of agile mindset through leadership development and learning-oriented practices.
