Abstract

The digital trend during Covid-19 has influenced millennials to invest. Therefore, investors in Bandung have been dominated by millennials. However, researchers believe that millennials are vulnerable in terms of financial prospects. This is because they are easily influenced by biased behavior in investing. In addition, everyone is considered to have inherent psychological biases that prevent them from making rational judgments and risk perceptions that can impact the investment decision-making process. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of heuristic biases and risk perception on the investment decisions of millennials in Indonesia. The data in this study were analyzed using the Pearson correlation statistical method and linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that heuristic biases and risk perception influence the investment decisions of millennials. This study contributes to the existing literature and provides practical implications for investors and the government.

Abstract

Technological advances in artificial intelligence and data analytics have enabled e-commerce platforms to deliver highly personalized advertising. However, how consumers psychologically respond to such personalization remains unclear, particularly in emerging markets. Drawing on Privacy Calculus Theory and the Affect Transfer Hypothesis, this study examines the influence of personalized advertising on purchase intention among Shopee users in Indonesia, with attitude toward advertising as a mediating variable. Data were collected from 114 Shopee users using purposive sampling and analyzed using regression and Hayes’ PROCESS mediation analysis. The results indicate that personalized advertising has a significant direct effect on purchase intention and a significant indirect effect through attitude toward advertising, indicating partial mediation. These findings suggest that personalization influences purchasing not only by improving information fit but also by shaping consumers’ cognitive and emotional evaluations of advertising. This study contributes to the personalized advertising literature by demonstrating the mediating role of attitude toward advertising in an emerging e-commerce context. Practically, the results highlight the importance of designing personalized advertising that balances relevance with consumer trust and perceived privacy.

Abstract

Digitalization intensifies connectivity demands and exposes early-career Generation Z banking employees to digital overload and boundary erosion, yet organizations still lack a system-level diagnostic to assess HR practices that protect digital well-being while sustaining performance. This study develops the Digital Well-Being Work System (DWWS) scale by translating HR-systems logic into six actionable domains and testing its initial psychometric properties. Item development combined domain specification and readability checks, followed by expert–user review (six raters) using the Content Validity Index (CVI). A main survey of 294 Generation Z banking employees in West Java was then analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (Principal Axis Factoring with Varimax rotation). Scale-level CVI showed excellent relevance and clarity (S-CVI/Ave = 0.965), with minor wording refinements to a small set of non-unanimous items before constructing testing. EFA supported a stable six-factor solution (KMO = 0.852; Bartlett’s p < .001) with moderate-to-strong loadings (≈0.555–0.751) across 24 retained items. The resulting DWWS offers a practical instrument to audit and improve organizational support for healthy digital work; future research should confirm the structure via CFA in an independent sample and test predictive validity across sectors.

Abstract

Customer retention constitutes a critical strategic outcome in B2B logistics, where relationship continuity depends on both service performance and relational confidence. This study investigates the effect of perceived service quality on customer retention, with customer trust positioned as a mediating variable, in the enterprise logistics context of PT Pos Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using cross-sectional survey data collected from 200 enterprise customers. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that perceived service quality exerts a positive and significant effect on customer trust and customer retention, while customer trust also has a positive and significant effect on customer retention. Furthermore, customer trust significantly mediates the relationship between perceived service quality and customer retention. Since both the direct and indirect effects remain significant, the mediating role of customer trust is classified as partial mediation. These results demonstrate that customer retention in B2B logistics is shaped through two complementary mechanisms: the direct operational value of superior service quality and the indirect relational pathway established through trust. The study contributes to the service and relationship marketing literature by clarifying this dual-pathway mechanism in underexplored enterprise logistics setting.

Abstract

Since 2022, there has been a change in the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures (also called as SOTK) in the Regional Apparatus Organization of Surabaya City, which has transferred the responsibility for the rehabilitation of school building facilities, infrastructure, and utilities from the Public Housing Service to the Education Service. This change also caused the transfer of 154 contract workers with the positions of craftsmen and assistant craftsmen to the Education Service. This study aims to analyse the influence of the work environment and organizational commitment on job satisfaction, with directive leadership style as a mediating variable. Data were analysed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of SEM with smartPLS software. The research sample consisted of 61 respondents selected from 154 members of the Education Service task force through the stratified sample method. The results show that the questionnaire instrument is valid and reliable. The work environment and organizational commitment have a significant positive influence on job satisfaction, but directive leadership style is not proven to mediate this influence on the Surabaya City Education Service task force.

Abstract

Millennial workers, as the majority of the workforce in Indonesia, possess unique characteristics such as quick adaptation to technology, a preference for work flexibility, and a high need for work- life balance. However, they also have weaknesses, such as high mobility, dependency on technology, and vulnerability to stress due to high expectations. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of millennial workers in start-up companies, particularly in the ride-hailing sector. A survey method was employed, involving 404 respondents from Go-Jek, Grab, and Maxim. The data were analyzed descriptively to describe demographics, educational levels, tenure, and work preferences. The results show that millennial workers prioritize flexibility, innovation, and technology but tend to have short tenures. These findings provide recommendations for companies to adopt management strategies based on technology, flexibility, and approaches that support employee engagement to enhance retention and productivity.

Abstract

The Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices at the Environmental Department of Surabaya City Government have been applied since several years ago. However, there is still no evidence that the application of GHRM at the Environmental Department can improve overall employee performance. This research aims to analyze the influence of GHRM on employee performance with the role of employee green behaviour as a mediation variable and transformational leadership as a moderation variable using the SEM-PLS method on a sample of 171 employees of DLH Kota Surabaya. SEM-PLS was used because of its ability to obtain relationship results between variables. The results showed that GHRM practices did not have a significant effect on employee performance, although they had a positive impact on employee green behaviour. The employee green behavior failed to mediate the relationship between GHRM and employee performance. Transformational leadership has proved effective as a moderator variable in the relationship of GHRM to employee performance. To maximize the effectiveness of GHRM, there needs to be strong leadership support as well as wider involvement of the entire employee in pro-environmental practices.

Abstract

Ghana's private universities, essential to the nation's educational landscape, are grappling with financial challenges due to declining enrollment and rising educational costs. This confluence threatens the sustainability of these institutions, despite their vital role in expanding access to higher education. This paper examines the financial strains on private universities in Ghana. By analyzing existing research and data on educational costs and enrollment trends, the paper identifies key factors contributing to financial instability. High educational costs pose a significant barrier for many students, potentially limiting their ability to pursue higher education at private institutions. Universities also face financial constraints, struggling with limited resources to maintain quality education and infrastructure. The paper goes beyond problem identification to propose solutions through a two-pronged approach: internal university efforts and external support. Internally, universities can implement cost-containment measures to streamline operations and enhance financial efficiency. Additionally, developing innovative programs that meet current market demands can attract new students and generate revenue. Externally, government support and policy reforms are crucial for sustainability. Financial aid programs, tax breaks, and other supports can alleviate some financial burdens. Policy reforms addressing affordability and student loan options can make private universities more accessible, broadening their reach and impact.
