Syamil: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang berfokus pada kajian-kajian teoretis maupun praktis dalam bidang pendidikan Islam dan pemikiran Islam kontemporer. Nama "Syamil" berasal dari bahasa Arab (شامل) yang berarti menyeluruh, komprehensif, atau meliputi segala aspek. Makna ini mencerminkan visi jurnal untuk menjadi ruang akademik yang holistik dalam mengkaji pendidikan dan pemikiran Islam secara integral, mendalam, dan luas. Keterkaitan nama "Syamil" dengan pendidikan dan pemikiran Islam sangat relevan, karena dalam tradisi keilmuan Islam, pendidikan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai proses transfer ilmu, tetapi juga sebagai proses pembentukan karakter, spiritualitas, dan peradaban yang utuh. Begitu pula dengan pemikiran Islam yang tidak bersifat parsial, tetapi mencakup aspek-aspek keimanan, akhlak, sosial, budaya, dan sains secara terpadu. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mewadahi para akademisi, peneliti, guru, dan praktisi pendidikan dalam menyebarluaskan hasil penelitian dan gagasan ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan: Pengembangan pendidikan Islam dari berbagai pendekatan (filosofis, sosiologis, pedagogis, dan teknologi), Pemikiran tokoh-tokoh Islam klasik dan kontemporer, Kontribusi pendidikan Islam dalam membangun peradaban, Integrasi ilmu Islam dan sains modern, Serta berbagai isu strategis dalam dunia pendidikan dan pemikiran Islam global. Dengan semangat Syamil, jurnal ini berkomitmen menghadirkan kontribusi ilmiah yang komprehensif dalam memperkuat identitas keilmuan Islam serta menjawab tantangan pendidikan umat di era modern.

Abstract

This study aims to theoretically examine the use of animation media in fiqh learning in the Independent Learning Curriculum at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level, with a focus on studies in madrasas in the Nunukan area. Using a qualitative approach of the type of literature study, data were obtained from relevant literature, books, journals, and previous research results. The results of the study show that animation media is able to increase the effectiveness of fiqh learning through abstract concept visualization, increase student motivation, and support the application of differentiated learning according to the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Theories such as Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (Mayer), Discovery Learning (Bruner), and Sociocultural Theory (Vygotsky) support the use of these media in improving students' cognitive, affective, and social understanding. However, challenges in the form of limited technological facilities, internet access, and teacher training needs are still obstacles in its implementation, especially in border areas such as Nunukan. Therefore, synergy is needed between teachers, madrasas, and policy makers to optimize the potential of animation media as an innovation in Islamic education in the digital era. The use of animation media in fiqh learning is considered strategic in forming a generation of Muslims who are intelligent, creative, and applicative in accordance with the demands of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the learning difficulties of Islamic Religious Education experienced by grade V students at State Elementary School 009 Nunukan, identify the causative factors, and formulate the efforts made by teachers in overcoming these problems. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and questionnaire dissemination. The results of the study show that some students have learning difficulties in understanding, memorizing, and applying Islamic Religious Education materials. The factors that cause learning difficulties include internal factors, such as lack of motivation to learn, low memorization skills, and inability to manage time. The external factors include lack of parental attention, limited learning equipment, less supportive environment, social influence, and excessive use of gadgets. In overcoming these learning difficulties, Islamic Religious Education teachers make various efforts such as completing learning media, providing additional learning time, fostering communication with students' parents, and improving professional competence through trainings. Schools also play an active role in supporting the creation of a conducive learning atmosphere. This study concludes that with the right approach and the support of all parties, the difficulties of learning Islamic Religious Education in students can be effectively minimized.

Abstract

Education is a very important human right in life, because it plays a role in developing the potential of individuals as a whole. This study aims to evaluate the application of the Role Playing method in improving students' understanding of the subject of Moral Beliefs at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Khairaat Nunukan. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach with a qualitative method that focuses on data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was carried out in two cycles, with 20 research subjects consisting of 10 female students and 10 male students. The results of the study showed that in the pre-cycle, students experienced limitations in understanding the material due to the use of monotonous lecture methods. In cycle I, even though the Role Playing method has been applied, there are still obstacles in student involvement. However, in cycle II, with improvement and more motivation, student activities and learning outcomes increased significantly, with 95% of students achieving learning completion. This study proves that the Role Playing method is effective in increasing students' understanding, motivation, and involvement in learning Akidah Akhlak. Based on these results, it is recommended that the Role Playing method continue to be used to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine student learning motivation, student learning outcomes and the relationship between learning motivation and student learning outcomes in the Aqidah Akhlak subject in class VIII MTs Ushuluddin Singkawang. This type of research is quantitative research using the interactive correlation method. The population in this study was class VIII students with a total of 258 students. The sample members in this study were 65 (Simple Random Sampling). The research results show that student learning motivation is moderate, student learning outcomes are good and there is a significant relationship between learning motivation and student learning outcomes as evidenced by the value of rxy>rttable = 0.796 > 0.244 which is in the strong category, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

This article aims to look at the contents of the holy book Al-Qur'an in general. Even though the Qur'an talks about many things, it can be categorized into several big themes. Understanding the content of the Koran is important because the Koran is not only a guide for the lives of Muslims but also for mankind. This article uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected from library data in the form of books, journals and related documents. It can be concluded in general that the content of the discussion in the holy Qur'an has at least seven points which include: creed, worship, promises and threats, morals, law, stories, and science and technology.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has an important role in shaping students' morals, especially in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Islamic Religious Education learning and students' morals at SDN 009 Sungai Fatimah, Nunukan Regency. The research method used is quantitative with a correlation approach, involving 30 students as randomly selected samples. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the product moment correlation technique. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education learning in this school has been adjusted to the curriculum and school conditions, with varied teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. Evaluation is carried out through cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Efforts to shape students' morals are implemented through teacher role models and positive behavioral habits, such as congregational prayer, saving, giving alms, and respecting teachers. Data analysis shows that the majority of students have good morals, which are reflected in their habits of worship, social concern, cleanliness, and respect for teachers and parents. In addition, there is a positive correlation between students' morals and their academic achievement in Islamic Religious Education subjects. The better the students' morals, the better their learning outcomes. This finding confirms that religious education plays a significant role in shaping the character of students who are noble and achieve.

Abstract

Indonesia’s cultural heritage has become an interesting study to date. History, intellectual system, economy and culture in the past have become a wealth of Indonesia that cannot be aeasily studied. The study of Islamic treasures in Indonesia still often focuses on the regions of Sumatra, Java and their surroundings. Meanwhile, in the Kalimantan region it is still rarely done. One of the treasures of Islam in Kalimantan that we can find is Tidung. Tidung is a native ethincity of Kalimantan which is part of the Dayak, but what distinguishes them is the belief they adhere to. Tidung is also interseting to study regarding the ulun pagun phenomenon as a dealetic of a new Islamic identify. This research seeks to explain about Nunukan Regency, Tidung and the costums of the Tidung tribe, especially in Nunukan Regency.

Abstract

The Ijtihad of Shaykh Nawawi Al-Bantani in the context of the Living Al-Qur'an and Sunnah makes an important contribution in enriching the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings in Indonesia. As a great scholar, Shaykh Nawawi developed a deep understanding of religious texts, while at the same time linking them to social dynamics and the needs of society at his time. His ijtihad does not only focus on theoretical understanding, but also emphasizes the relevance and application of the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah in everyday life. In his work, Shaykh Nawawi succeeded in connecting classical scientific traditions with contemporary contexts, making Islamic teachings more alive and adaptable to ever-evolving social life. Through this approach, Shaykh Nawawi Al-Bantani's ijtihad makes an important contribution to an understanding of Islam that is inclusive, progressive and in line with the demands of the times.

Abstract

The Tabot tradition in Bengkulu constitutes a significant form of religious cultural heritage that integrates strong social, spiritual, and historical values. This study analyzes the tradition through the analytical framework of Ibn Khaldun’s concept of ‘Asabiyyah to understand how collective solidarity, communal unity, and social cohesion are expressed throughout the stages of the Tabot procession. Employing a qualitative research method based on an extensive literature review, the article examines the relationship between the sociocultural values embedded in the Tabot practices and the principles of ‘Asabiyyah, which emphasize unity, group loyalty, and moral strength as the foundations of a dynamic society. The findings reveal that ‘Asabiyyah within the Tabot tradition is manifested not only through the active collective participation of the community but also through its role as a cohesive force that preserves the continuity of the tradition across generations. As such, Tabot extends beyond its function as a religious ritual and emerges as a concrete expression of social solidarity and cultural identity within the Bengkulu community. This interpretation underscores the relevance of classical sociological theory in explaining the resilience and persistence of local traditions in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

The concept of sakinah is one of the fundamental values in the Qur’an, closely related to family life and marital relationships. Qur’an Surah Ar-Rum (30): 21 explicitly mentions sakinah as the purpose of the creation of spouses, along with mawaddah and rahmah. This study aims to examine the meaning of sakinah in this verse using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach, which emphasizes three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth as a form of cultural meaning construction. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design, using the Qur’an and classical as well as contemporary Qur’anic commentaries as primary sources, supported by relevant secondary literature. The findings reveal that at the denotative level, sakinah refers to tranquility and inner peace within marital life. At the connotative level, sakinah represents a harmonious and balanced relationship grounded in spiritual values. At the level of myth, sakinah is understood as an ideal construction of the Islamic family that emphasizes emotional stability, moral commitment, and social responsibility. Thus, sakinah is not merely interpreted as psychological calmness but also reflects a value system that shapes the Islamic family paradigm.
