Abstract

This research is the design of hotel room furniture products that use corn cobs as the main material. This research was conducted because furniture is an important part of a hotel room. Each hotel generally has a bed, bar table,dressing table, chair, and bedside table. In this study, the bedside table product was chosen because this product is often used in hotel rooms. In addition, corn cob material was chosen because it is usually only used as animal feed and has not been used as a basic material for hotel furniture. This material has a unique texture and pattern that gives it a different characteristic from hotels in general, which usually only use wood, bamboo, or rattan as the basic material for furniture. This research begins with determining the hotel where the research will be carried out. After several considerations, the Le Aman Bali Hotel was chosen. Hotel Le Aman Bali was chosen because the hotel is currently carrying out furniture replacement and it is hoped that this study can provide added value, uniqueness, and characteristics that will have a positive impact on the hotel. Then an in-depth study is carried out to better identify the hotel that will be carried out according to the theme and needs of the hotel. Then an alternative sketch was made, in which from several alternative sketches three designs were selected to enter the next stage, namely making a prototype. Prototype-making is done utilizing the lamination method. This method was chosen because it was adapted to the needs of the product, especially in making the table to be used. The novelty of this research is corncobs as the main material for making furniture at the Le Aman Bali Hotel.

Abstract

A bag is a package or container in the form of a square or something, usually strapped, used to store, store or carry something. A bag is also an item that must be used by all groups, both men and women as a complement to fashion, therefore increasing income, even lifestyle and population level so that there are also more marriage rates and young families with children. Supporting equipment for the convenience of babies interacting in their daily lives must also be paid close attention to by parents, including introducing their environment either through a trip, traveling or visiting family, friends and other people around. So that on this trip it is necessary to bring baby equipment and require storage that can accommodate the equipment and needs needed by the baby. In this study the Design Thinking methodology was used. The benefit of this research is to produce a product bag for carrying baby equipment that has lots of space for small compartments and the convenience of carrying, storing and retrieving baby equipment products in the bag.

Abstract

Penelitian proyek akhir ini adalah perancangan produk tas rajut yang didasari pada penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap nail artist. Sebagian besar nail artist masih sering melakukan homeservice, bahkan masih banyak nail artist yang baru memulai merintis usaha, kegelisahan seorang nail artist adalah produk yang dapat menampung peralatan nail art dan produk yang biasa digunakan berupa toolbox. Salah satu masalah dalam penggunaan toolbox yaitu Nail artist sering kebingungan mencari salah satu alat karena disimpan berserakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan design thinking dengan pendekatan langsung yang dilakukan terhadap kegiatan nail artist sehingga dapat memperoleh produk tas rajut untuk fasilitas nail artist.  Pilihan tentang aktivitas nail art dan fasilitas tas rajut didasarkan oleh bagaimana pengguna ingin menciptakan kesan unik pada diri nail artist dan kegiatannya. Untuk itu, pekerjaan nail art membutuhkan alat yang sesuai dengan desain dan prosedur operasional yang akan digunakan.

Abstract

This research is about the design of a sling-bag made from corncob for young people aged 18-25 years,as the result of utilized corncob exploration that has done at the Craftindo Kreasi Workshop in Bandung. This research is motivated by the opportunity for the industry to offer fashion commodities that have been underdeveloped, because so far the industry has focused on furniture products, and merchandise. The method used in this design is an experiment-based iterative method, namely by conducting direct trials at the workshop during the design process. At the end of this research, a prototype of a sling bag product with corncob material using bending and lamination techniques was produced. Abstract

Furniture is not only a complementary element of home furnishings for both interior and exterior, but can give a special impression to the user. This research aims to design a furniture design that can provide the best choice according to the user's taste, both in terms of characteristics and raw materials. The design of the stool set design with the stages of deformation of the shape of the tripod uses the Stages of Thinking method approach which has six stages, namely: (1) Design Brief, (2) Research Backgroud, (3) Design Resolve, (4) Select Rationale, (5) Implement Delevery, (6) Learn Feedback. is to apply elements of tripod legs & camera lens to the stool set product. Qualitative research with data collection through field observations, interviews with craftsmen and shop owners, as well as the media. Product design is a process that begins with the discovery of problems and ideas. Then, data is collected and evaluated, a design concept is decided, alternative designs are sketched, and the design is selected. This research-based design is a source of learning and alternative choices for furniture that has unique ideas and good materials

Abstract

This research focuses on the design of flower vases aimed at young couples, career women, home decor enthusiasts, and flower arrangement lovers, utilizing stained glass as the primary material. The study adopts the Design Thinking method as an in-depth framework to understand the needs and preferences of the target market, as well as opportunities for developing stained glass as a home decor commodity. In this context, the design of flower vases goes beyond mere functionality, delving into the potential for creativity and aesthetics to meet consumer expectations. The Design Thinking method is used to identify challenges and opportunities within the industry, gather consumer insights, and formulate innovative solutions.The outcome of this research is a series of flower vases that combine the artistic touch of stained glass. Abstract

This research was motivated by sustainability efforts, avoiding the threat of scarcity of the main raw materials for kelom geulis, namely Mahogany and Albasiah wood, and providing novelty and design innovation for kelom geulis footwear. Bamboo is used as a substitute for wood because it has the ability to regenerate faster and has good strength and has the opportunity to develop more varied shapes. Through the utilization of lamination techniques, bamboo is expected to be a novelty that can increase the economic value of kelom, open industrial opportunities, and greater market opportunities. The method used in this research is the material experimentation method, which is a trial method that explores novelty opportunities through printing and lamination techniques to achieve the feasibility of the function and shape of the sole as a footwear component. The target of this research is to produce a prototype kelom geulis with a sole that is unique in terms of shape and visual distinctiveness adopted from the physical properties of bamboo as an alternative raw material using laminated bamboo. The result of this research is a novelty in footwear design that has a new touch that is different from existing kelom geulis products, creating new economic opportunities in the bamboo sector, and efforts to promote the sustainable use of natural resources.

Abstract

Tunjungan Street has become one of the historical public tourist destinations in the city of Surabaya. One of the attractions of Tunjungan Street is the architectural design of the buildings that still maintain their historical themes from the past. Art deco is a historical design style that is still preserved today on Tunjungan Street. However, the seating facilities along the Tunjungan Street area still have forms and functions that resemble the average seating facilities in various other public places. The purpose of researching aspects in the design of thematic seating facilities is to create an opportunity to beautify the tourist area and, at the same time, provide visual appeal for various activities conducted in the Tunjungan Street area. The method used in this research is the double diamond model, where the design process involves discovering and defining. Qualitative research is applied by collecting data through interviews with designers and psychologists, as well as observations of public tourist attractions. The collected data will be evaluated and used in designing a mind map. The innovative result of this research is the recommendation of aspects in the design of seating facilities for Tunjungan Street.

Abstract

This final project research is the process of designing the design of carrying facilities and exhibition displays intended for Hot Wheels Red Line Club fans. This is based on an opportunity because the Hot Wheels Red Line Club has special value for diecast collectors. The Hot Wheels Red Line Club is an achievement for diecast collectors. The focus of this design is that the product is required to be able to carry three types of Hot Wheels Red Line Club to be displayed at an exhibition held by the Swap Meet Bandung community using a design thinking method approach. has a visual approach to Hot Wheels Red Line Club so as to produce a carrying product designed to group Hot Wheels Red Line Club with other diecasts and can also be used for display at exhibitions. It is hoped that the product will be able to answer user needs through an optimized prototype. The novelty of this research is the transportation facility used to carry the Hot Wheels Red Line Club which has exclusive value.

Abstract

Background: Aesthetics is a term used to express everything that concerns beauty that can be seen with the naked eye. One of the aesthetic reviews of applied carvings on furniture products in the Jepara area is carved reliefs. Works of fine art that penetrate the observer's feelings so that they become happy, comfortable and satisfied occur because of the aesthetic value impressed in the art. Carved reliefs are an art object, therefore, to be able to say that an object has an aesthetic form, it can be seen from its design. The aim of the research on the application of carving here is to observe the aesthetics of carving applied to Jepara furniture, where there are very diverse techniques applied. Research Method: Qualitative. This research consists of two stages, namely the first stage conducting a survey about the phenomenon of applied carving on furniture in Jepara; The second stage was conducting an exploratory study to collect data about the application of carvings to furniture in Jepara. Sampling technique: Purposive sampling. Consists of 10 participants. Result: The carving application produces a very attractive aesthetic resulting in shape, size, material and color. The conclusion of this research is that in the Jepara area there are many carvings with various shapes and appearances that are very meaningful. This appearance makes it characteristic and differentiates it from other areas. The study of aesthetic elements is very meaningful. The shape has characteristics that show the originality of the element for future researchers. The form has a unique application that can lead to innovation. The theme suggestions that we have taken here provide very strong originality, especially in the applied study of the aesthetics of carvings to furniture. Becomes evidence in the development of aesthetic science, applied review of carving for furniture products, especially in product design courses.
