Abstract

Abstract: Oral literature is one of the learning materials in schools. With the development of today's technology, bringing oral literature to a more modern world. The digitization of literature makes it easier for teachers to convey the essence of oral literature to students. However, with the digitization of oral literature, various problems have arisen. This research aims to explain various problems that occur in oral literature that is packaged in digital form. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a literature approach. The researcher collected data through the results of the analysis of various print media. From the results of the research, there are three problems that occur, including, 1) Oral literature that is converted into digital form can reduce the values of oral literature itself, 2) Oral literature consists of various elements, one of which is the flexibility of the storyteller. When oral literature is converted into video form, the flexibility of the storyteller will be frozen in the video. The taste and atmosphere created will also be different when oral literature is delivered in live performances and through videos, and 3) the digitization of oral literature that is not conveyed in accordance with the authentic work, can reduce the authentic values of oral literature itself which will later affect students' understanding.  Keywords: digitization of oral literature, problematic, and literary learning in schools.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) contribute more than 61% of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product, yet most of them still face limitations in leveraging transactional data for customer retention strategies. Prior studies have extensively combined Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) analysis with the K-Means algorithm for customer segmentation, but the majority treat Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) only as a post-hoc label assigned to clusters after the clustering process is finalized, rather than as a feature that shapes the segment structure from the beginning. This study addresses three research questions: how CLV can be effectively integrated as a clustering input, what segmentation structure emerges from this approach, and what concrete retention strategies can be derived for MSMEs with limited analytical capabilities. The proposed framework incorporates CLV, calculated as the discounted historical net sales using a 10% annual discount rate, as the fourth feature in the K-Means feature space with K-Means++ initialization, alongside RFM variables standardized using Z-scores. The framework is applied to a real dataset from a coffee shop MSME in Indonesia, comprising 19,126 transactions, of which 4,310 are member transactions from 472 unique registered customers, recorded throughout January–December 2023. The optimal number of clusters is determined through the convergence of the Elbow Method and the Silhouette Coefficient, both indicating four clusters as the best solution with a silhouette score of 0.5105. The segmentation divided customers into four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. A key finding was a highly concentrated value distribution, with just 1.48% of customers (n = 7) contributing 21.66% of total revenue and CLV. This pattern is significantly more skewed than the traditional 80/20 Pareto rule. This concentration is interpreted through the lenses of habit formation, small base amplification, and comparative empirical evidence. The four-tier framework translates into differentiated retention strategies: VIP retention, value uplift, repeat-purchase incentives, and win-back campaigns, with monetary thresholds calibrated to each segment's median value. Keywords: K-Means, Clustering, RFM, Customer Lifetime Value, Customer Segmentation, MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract: Adaptation is a crucial ability that enables individuals to cope with new and unfamiliar environments. For college students, the ability to adapt during their first year is key to achieving academic success and maintaining psychological well-being. This study aims to develop and validate an assessment instrument to measure the adaptation levels of college students. The research adopts a development methodology using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A questionnaire was constructed based on Baker and Siryk’s theory, encompassing four dimensions of adaptation: academic adaptation, social adaptation, personal-emotional adaptation, and attachment to institutions. The questionnaire items were designed using a Likert scale and validated through expert review and field testing. The initial data were collected from 30 respondents for validity and reliability analysis. Results indicate that the instrument achieves a Cronbach's Alpha reliability score of 0.760, which is classified as high, confirming its consistency in measuring adaptation. However, only 10 out of 44 items met the validity criteria with Pearson correlation values greater than 0.3. These items reflect critical aspects of academic motivation, social participation, psychological adjustment, and institutional engagement. The findings demonstrate that the developed instrument is valid and reliable, making it feasible for evaluating the adaptation levels of college students. Future research should refine the instrument further through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses with larger sample sizes to improve item precision and generalizability. This instrument holds potential for use by university counselors to identify adaptation challenges in students and develop targeted interventions.     Keywords: college student adaptation, instrument development, ADDIE model, student adjustment, validation study.

Abstract

Abstract: Semiotics is the study of signs. With this science, one can understand the meaning contained in the signs that appear in a work of literature and art. In studying a sign, semiotic approaches are needed, one of which is the approach proposed by Roland Barthes. To apply Roland Barthes' approach to a literary work of poetry, the author chose a poem by Supardi Djoko Damono entitled "Gerimis Jatuh". The type of research used is semiotic research with data collection methods in the form of literature and note-taking techniques. The methods and techniques of data analysis used are descriptive analysis methods associated with Roland Barthes' theory. The results of this study show that the poem "Gerimis Jatuh" is an expression of the author's feelings of sorrow for someone he misses.    Keywords: semiotics, Roland Barthes, poetry, gerimis jatuh

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to examine the forms of representation of Roland Barthes' narrative codes in Danusha Laméris' poem Small Kindnesses. The narrative codes are: Hermeneutic Code, Proairetic Code, Semantic Code, Symbolic Code, and Cultural Code. The aim of identifying these codes is to discover the implied meaning in addition to the literal meaning of a discourse. As Barthes in his modern semiotic theory proposed connotative meaning in addition to denotative meaning. This research uses a step-by-step qualitative approach by following the way Barthes explored the novel Sarrasine in his book when he introduced the theory of narrative codes. The outcome of the study reveals that in the poem Small Kindnesses, five narrative codes are used in it to achieve connotative meaning or hidden meaning. The result of this meaning is how Small Kindnesses carries social, structural, as well as religious messages as a poem.    Keywords: danusha laméris, connotative meaning, narrative codes, small kindnesses, roland barthes.

Abstract: The implementation of problem based learning to increase student’s learning outcomes is explained. This research aimed to determine the implementation of problem based learning to improve the student outcomes in senior high school (SHS) in studying chemistry. This research is conducted in SMKN 2 Palembang which the subject of research is students in tenth grade. The populations are class X TKJ 3, while the subjects were 34 students. The research is conducted by teaching students with problem based learning model followed by evaluation test in the end of each cyle to obtain learning outcomes. The results showed that the average value of Evaluation-Test for first cycle is 67,21 with the second cycle is 83,14.. The students total average of the achievement showed that the percent affectivity of problem based learning implementation showed there is significant differences between teaching by using problem based learning. So, we obtained that teaching chemistry subject by using problem based learning model is quite effective. Keywords: problem based learning, learning outcomes, elemental chemistry, classroom action research.
