Abstract

Abstract: This study will present the results of testing the current experience instrument of senior high school students who are not contaminated with certain problems. This instrument is a development of the current experience instrument in college students who are not contaminated with certain problems. The instrument consists of 41 statements divided into 8 factors namely social isolation, excessive demands, romantic problems, decisions about the future, loneliness and unpopularity, various disorders and anxiety, social persecution, and academic challenges. This instrument was adopted by the researcher with the aim of being in line with the development of this instrument, namely measuring the extent of physical and mental health disorders to be predicted. This instrument will see how influential gender is on current experiences. Testing was conducted on 48 MA Al-Khoiriyah Gondanglegi students in classes X and XII. The results of the classical assumption test have met the classical assumptions, then proceed to the independent sample T-Test test with the results of the df value of 46 so that the t-table is 2.013 (t-count 2.706) so it can be concluded that gender determines different recent experiences or in other words gender will produce different physical or mental disorders. The test continued with the chi-square test which looked at the relationship between gender and grade level on students' current experiences with a sig value of 0.000 (p 0.05) so that H1 was accepted or there was a relationship between gender and grade level on students' current experiences or in other words that gender and grade level were related to students' current experiences. It can be concluded that gender and grade level significantly influence and relate to students' current experience.   Keywords: recent life experience, maladaptive behavior, rencent behavior, psychological disorders.

Abstract

Abstract: The poem "Uncle Doblang" by W.S. Rendra is a literary work that has its own charm. Apart from being a medium of entertainment, this poem also holds various meanings and intentions in it, which are conveyed by the author through the form of semiotic signs that must be understood by the reader so that the meaning can be conveyed properly. On the other hand, not everything can be given meaning without reason. The existence of semiotic studies, especially Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotics, can certainly be applied as a theory to dissect poetry from an easy level. The use of semiotic studies is to analyze the signifier and signified contained in the poetry text. This study utilizes a qualitative data analysis method, namely reducing data, then producing a conclusion. The results obtained show that the poem does contain a lot of signifiers and signifieds that describe the twists and turns of the life of a prisoner who has to spend a lot of time in a dark prison room.  Keywords: semiotic analysis, uncle doblang poem, Ferdinand de Saussure semiotics

Abstract

Abstract: This study develops and validates e-modules incorporating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and local wisdom to enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. As 21st-century education emphasizes the integration of technology and innovative strategies, these e-modules aim to support higher-order thinking while preserving cultural values amidst globalization. The research specifically focuses on the topic of Temperature and Heat for Grade VII junior high school science education. Using a Research and Development (RD) approach based on the 4D model Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate this study completes the development stage, including validation and preliminary testing. In the Define stage, a needs analysis identified that traditional teacher-centered methods inadequately develop students' critical thinking skills. The Design stage systematically structured the e-modules with reflective activities, interactive problem-solving exercises, and integration of local wisdom, leveraging Flip PDF Professional for engaging content creation. The e-modules underwent validation by three expert validators, who evaluated content, presentation, and language. Results showed a validity score exceeding 80% across all criteria, classified as "very valid." A preliminary test involving 30 Grade VII students employed a pre-test and post-test design. The analysis revealed a significant improvement in student performance, with the mean pre-test score of 60.25 increasing to a post-test mean of 85.75 (42.4% improvement). Statistical analysis using a paired ttest yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p 0.05), confirming the e-modules' effectiveness. Additionally, the incorporation of local wisdom within the PBL framework was positively received, promoting cultural appreciation alongside cognitive skill development. In conclusion, the developed Flip PDF-based e-modules satisfy highquality educational standards and effectively enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Their integration of technology and local cultural values positions them as impactful tools for junior high school science education.   Keywords: e-module, problem-based learning, local wisdom, critical thinking, problem-solving.
