Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning framework based on Socio-Scientific Issues–Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (SSI-STREAM) in order to facilitate students' scientific literacy. The research method used is Qualitative Research Synthesis with four stages, namely determining the topic, searching the literature through a database using the keywords “Socio-scientific Issues”, “Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics”, and “Scientific Literacy”, extracting findings, and synthesizing the findings into a learning framework. The results of the study show that SSI is an authentic, controversial, debated issue and directly related to science content, making it relevant for use in science learning. The stages of SSI-based learning that have been synthesized include the presentation of SSI issues, analysis of SSI issues based on science content, the development of arguments in accordance with morals and ethics, and conclusion and evaluation. Meanwhile, the STREAM concept covers six main aspects: Science (understanding natural phenomena); Technology (using devices to obtain information); Reading, which focuses on text comprehension; Engineering (problem-solving skills); Arts (creativity, empathy, and concern); and Mathematics (measurement). Meanwhile, the synthesis of indicators on scientific literacy obtained two aspects, namely the competency aspect and the knowledge aspect. The competency aspect includes the ability to explain scientific issues, identify scientific issues, and design scientific investigations. The knowledge aspect includes content knowledge, procedural knowledge, and epistemic knowledge. Based on these findings, this study produced an SSI-STREAM learning framework that can be used to facilitate students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) How high is the increase in learning outcomes of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa after being taught with Interactive E-Modules, 2) Knowing whether there is a difference in the average N-Gain score of learning outcomes of students in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This type of research is Pre-Experimental research with a research design using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population was all students of class VII of SMPN 2 Sungguminasa in the 2022/2023 academic year consisting of 11 classes with a total of 354 people, the sample was selected by purposive sampling, with 1 class, namely class VII.10 totaling 31 people as an experimental class. The research instrument was in the form of learning outcomes test questions. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that there is a difference in the average score of learning outcomes of students in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa with the application of Interactive E-Modules.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the cathegory of learning outcomes of VIII grade students at MTsN 1 Mamuju who is teach using the problem posing learning model (2) the category of learning outcomes of VIII grade students at MTsN 1 Mamuju who is teach using conventional learning models. (3) whether there are an effects of the problem posing learning model on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at MTsN 1 Mamuju on the material of the human respiratory system. The type of research used in this study is a True Experimental Design research (True Experimental Design) and the design of this research plan is Posttest Only Control Design. The population of this study were all students in grade VIII at MTsN 1 Mamuju. The sample was selected using Simple Random Sampling technique and obtained class VIII.3 20 students and VIII.4 22 students. The research instrument was a learning outcome test question. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study concluded: (1) The level of science learning outcomes of students in class VIII MTsN 1 Mamuju who is teach using the problem posing learning model is in the medium category with an average score of 11.18. (2) The level of science learning outcomes of students in class VIII MTsN 1 Mamuju who is teach using conventional learning is in the medium category with an average score of 9. (3) There are an effect of the problem posing learning model on the science learning outcomes of students in class VIII MTsN 1 Mamuju on the material of the human respiratory system.

Abstract

The reaserch aims to the level of understanding of students' science concepts before and after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, increasing students' understanding of science concepts after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly increased after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom. The population of this study was all grade VIII students at MTs DDI Gusung Makassar with samples selected using purposive sampling techniques so that the sample in the study was 25 students. The research instrument uses the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom with 25 questions in the form of multiple choice and divided into 3 indicators of understanding, namely translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students before the implementation of Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Simple Aircraft materials in everyday life is in the category of lacking, (2) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the very good category, (3) Increased understanding of the concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the high category. (4) The understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly improved after the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the magnitude of the increase in students' problem solving skills before and after applying the problem solving learning model. (2) determine there was difference in the average score of students' problem solving skills significantly before and after applying the problem solving learning model. The sample in the study consisted of 25 students Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results of this study were: (1) Improving the problem solving skills of students in class VIII at SMPN 39 Makassar who were taught using problem solving learning model obtained an N-Gain of 0.54 in the medium category. (2) There is a difference significant increase in the average score before and after the application of the problem solving learning model. This shows that the application of problem solving learning model can improve students' problem solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of science literacy ability in aspects of context, competence and knowledge of grade VIII students of A-accredited junior high school in Mamajang sub-district in terms of gender. The sample selected used the Slovin formula so that the sample in this study was 303 students. The research instrument consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that science literacy in the aspects of context, competence, and knowledge of grade VIII students of A-accredited junior high schools in Mamajang sub-district in terms of gender, namely in the context aspect and competency aspects of female students has a higher percentage compared to male students, but in the aspect of knowledge male students have a higher percentage compared to female students. The average score in female students is 13 with the medium category, in male students it has a score of 11 with the low category, this shows that female students have better science literacy skills than male didk participants, although in the aspect of knowledge and male students have a higher percentage.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) the level of learning motivation category of class VIII students at SMPN 27 Makassar before and after the application of Doratoon- based animation media. 2) the increase in learning motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 27 Makassar through the application of Doratoon- based animation media. 3) whether the application of Doratoon- based animation media can significantly increase learning motivation in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. The types of this research are Pre- Experimental Design research and One Group Pretest- Posttest Design research design. The population of this research is all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar for the 2023/2024 school year, the sample was 25 students selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument is a learning motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis concluded: 1) the motivation category and learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar before application of Doratoon- based animation media obtained an average learning motivation score of 69.92 which was in the medium category, whereas after application of Doratoon- based animation media, an average learning motivation score of 76.76 was obtained, which was in the high category. 2) the increase in learning motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar through the application of Doratoon- based animation media obtained an average N- Gain on learning learning motivation of 0.21 which is in the low category, 3) the determination of Doratoon- based animation media can significantly increase learning motivation in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) how much the improvement of science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar after applying the SETS approach, 2) whether there is a difference in the average score of significant improvement in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar before and after applying the SETS approach. This research is a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttets Design research design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar as many as 3 classes with a total of 91 students. Sampling through purposive sampling technique so as to obtain VIII C with a total of 24 students. The research instrument was a science literacy test. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis concluded that 1) the increase in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar who were taught using the Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) approach of 0,31 was in the medium category, 2) there was a significant difference in the average score of the increase in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar before and after the application of the SETS approach.
