Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of learning difficulties of VIII grade students of SMPN in Bissappu District. This type of research was a descriptive survey. The population of this study were students of grade VIII of junior high schools in Bissappu District, Bantaeng Regency, namely SMPN 1 Bissappu, SMPN 2 Bissappu, and SMPN 3 Bissappu. The sampling technique used was random sampling technique so that a sample of 207 students was obtained. The research instrument used was a questionnaire of 34 statements. The results showed that the students' learning difficulties with an average score of 93.06 were in the moderate category. The three indicators causing the highest learning difficulties are psychological factors (27.21), school environment (21.79), and family environment (20.97). Meanwhile, biological factors and the community environment are in the low category with an average score of (11.33) and (11.04).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of science misconceptions using the Three Tier Diagnostic Test in class VII students of SMPN 3 Pattalassang. This research is a descriptive study that uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Quantitative descriptive research design intended to describe the misconceptions of students on the science questions given. The study population was 108 students from 4 classes. Determination of the number of samples using saturated samples where all members of the population will be used as research samples. The research instrument used is a three tier diagnostic test of 17 items that have been validated by content and items. The data collection technique in this study was a written test of the three tier diagnostic test. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that misconceptions occur in all concepts in the material of the earth's layers with the percentage of misconceptions of students on the concept of the constituents of the atmosphere by 78.72% (high); the relationship between altitude, air pressure and the number of air molecules by 71.12% (high); characteristics of the troposphere layer by 74.08% (high); characteristics of the stratosphere layer by 68.53% (high); characteristics of the mesosphere layer by 74.08% (high); characteristics of the thermosphere layer by 75.93% (high); characteristics of the exosphere layer by 85.19% (high); characteristics of the lithosphere layer by 64.82% (high); causes of earthquakes by 67.59% (high); causes of volcano formation by 60.19% (high), and characteristics of the hydrosphere by 65.74% (high).

Abstract

This research aims to determine 1) the level of learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa by implementing the nearpod learning platform on the subject matter of light and optical instruments, 2) improving the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa by applying the nearpod learning platform to the subject matter light and optical devices, 3) whether or not there is a significant increase in the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa after implementing the nearpod learning platform on the subject matter of light and optical devices, 4) whether or not there are similarities in the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa after implementing the nearpod learning platform on the subject matter of light and optical devices. This type of research is pre experiment and One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design with 2 experimental classes. The population in this study was all 11 class VIII students, while the sample was chosen using purposive sampling so that the sample in this study was class VIII A and class VIII B students with a total sample of 61 students. The research instrument is in the form of learning outcome test questions. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the analysis concluded that the application of the nearpod learning platform could improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa and there were similarities in the learning outcomes of students in classes VIII A and VIII B at SMPN 3 Sungguminasa after implementing the nearpod learning platform.

Abstract

This study is a pre-experimental study with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The aim is to determine whether the use of Educaplay interactive media has an effect or not on increasing the motivation to learn science in fourth-grade students at SDN 121 Salaonro. The population in this study were all of fourth-grade students at SDN 121 Salaonro, with a sample of 20 students selected using a saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire to measure the students' learning motivation before and after the treatment. The data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Results: There was an increase in the average score of student learning motivation of 7.75 (pretest = 70.80 and posttest = 78.55), tcount = 7.077 > ttable = 1.729 at a significance level of 5%, indicating a significant difference in learning motivation before and after the use of Educaplay interactive media. Conclusion: The use of Educaplay interactive media has a positive effect on increasing the motivation to learn science at fourth-grade students at SDN 121 Salaonro.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the level of motivation and scientific literacy skills of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar before the implementation of learning using the TPACK approach. 2) The level of motivation and scientific literacy skills of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar after the implementation of learning using the TPACK approach. 3) Improvement in motivation and scientific literacy skills of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar after the implementation of learning using the TPACK approach. The type of research used in this study is Pre-Experimental research. The subjects of this study are seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. The results of the analysis concluded that: 1) The level of motivation and scientific literacy skills of students before the implementation of the TPACK approach, the learning motivation score is 48.16, which falls into the low category, and the pretest score for scientific literacy skills is 3.60, which falls into the less category. 2) The level of motivation and scientific literacy skills of students after the implementation of the TPACK approach, with a posttest score for learning motivation of 80.80, which falls into the high category, and a posttest score for scientific literacy skills of 7.28, which falls into the adequate category. 3) There is an improvement in students' scientific literacy skills after the implementation of the TPACK approach, with the N-Gain for motivation being 0.62 and the N-Gain for scientific literacy skills being 0.31, both falling into the moderate category. 4) There is a significant improvement in the motivation and scientific literacy skills of seventh-grade students of SMPN 27 Makassar after the implementation of learning using the TPACK approach.

Abstract

This study was a quantitative descriptive survey study that aims to (1) To find out the scientific literacy category of class VIII students at Katumbagan Lemo State Middle School, (2) To find out the scientific literacy ability category of each class VIII at Katumbagan Lemo State Middle School. The population of class VIII students of SMP Negeri Katumbagan Lemo was 81 students. The research instrument was in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions on the main material of the human digestive system. Data collection techniques were by giving tests directly at school. Data are analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of data analysis, it was known that the category of scientific literacy abilities of class VIII students of SMP Negeri Katumbagan Lemo was still classified as Very Low.

Abstract

Creative thinking can be applied by students in all learning to hone their skills. Initial observations conducted at Sriti Christian Junior High School showed that students still experience limitations in creative thinking, so that students have difficulty in understanding the learning provided through a conventional learning system as mentioned by the 8th grade science teacher. The amount of creative thinking ability is measured through the average creative thinking ability in class VIII A and VIII B based on several indocators at Seriti Christian Junior High School, so that from this research, it can facilitate the school in designing learning strategies and can provide more effective facilities to support the creative thinking ability of students through a quantitative descriptive survey method. Through 5 items of essay indicator questions, the results of the creative thinking skills of students in class VIII of Seriti Christian Junior High School were 12.05 with a percentage of 43.13% in the moderately creative category, the average score of the analysis of creative thinking skills in class VIII A was 43.23% in the moderately creative category, the average score of the analysis of creative thinking skills in class VIII B was 43.04% which was in the moderately creative category, while the average score of students' creative thinking skills on the KBK (1) indicator was 30.68% as less creative, KBK (2) was 70.91 in the creative category, and KBK (3) was 27.80% so it was categorized as less creative.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) The level of motivation and learning outcomes of students in class VII SMPN 27 Makassar before the application of interactive e-module on the material of living things composed of cells. 2) The level of motivation and learning outcomes of students of class VII after the application of interactive e-module 3) The increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students grade VII after the application of interactive e-module 4) Significant increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students of class VII after the application of interactive e-module. The type of research was Pre-Experimental design. The analysis concluded that: 1) The level of motivation and learning outcomes of science students in class VII SMPN 27 Makassar before the application of interactive e-module with a pretest score of 73.19 motivation is in the high category and the pretest score of learning outcomes 5,92 is in the medium category. 2) The level of motivation and learning outcomes of science students in class VII after the application of interactive e-module with a motivation posttest score of 85.73 in the very high category and a learning outcome posttest score of 9,50 in the high category. 3) The level of motivation and science learning outcomes of VII grade students after the application of interactive e-module with N-Gain motivation 0.47 is in the medium category and N-Gain learning outcomes 0.56 is in the medium category. 4) There is a significant increase in motivation and learning outcomes of science students in class VII SMPN 27 Makassar after the application of interactive e-module.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) the level of motivation and learning outcomesoff class VIII SMPN 8 Makassar students after being taught using powtoon-based animation media in the experimental class 2) the level of motivation and learning outcomesoff class VIII SMPN 8 Makassar students after being taught conventional media in the control class 3) How high is the increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMPN 8 Makassar after being taught using powtoon-based animation media  in the ezperimental class 4) How high is the increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMPN 8 Makassar after being taught using conventional media in the control class 5) Whether there is an effect of powtoo-based animation media on  motivation and learning  outcomes of science students in class VIII SMPN 8 Makassar. This type of research is quasi-experimental design research with a research design using Nonequivalent Control Group. The population of all VIII grade students at SMPN 8 Makassar in the 2023/2024 academic year consisted of 12 classes with a total of 396students. The sample was selected by purposive sampling with 2 classes, namely the experimental class (VIII-7) totaling 35 and the control class (VIII-9) totaling 37students. The research instrument was a questionnaire of motivationand a learning outcomes test.The results of the analysis showed that there was an effect of of powtoon-based animation media on learning motivation and science learning outcomes in class VIII students of SMPN 8 Makassar.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) The level of science process skills of students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar who are taught using the guided inquiry learning model. 2) The level of science process skills of students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar who are taught using the direct learning model. 3) Improving the science process skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar who are taught using the guided inquiry learning model. This type of research is Quasi Experimental Design research and Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The population of this study was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 55 Makassar which consisted of 2 classes with a total of 42 students. The sample was selected using the Saturated Sampling technique and obtained 21 students from class VIII.A as the experimental class and VIII.B 21 students as the control class. The research instrument is a 16-item multiple choice test of science process skills. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the research show that: The level of Science Process Skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar who were taught using the guided inquiry learning model was in the medium category with a score of 12.14. The level of Science Process Skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar who are taught using the direct learning model is in the low category with a score of 8.38. Improving the Science Process Skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar using the guided inquiry learning model is in the medium category with an N-Gain of 0.56. Improving the Science Process Skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar using the direct learning model is in the medium category with an N-Gain of 0.35.
