Abstract

Biomechanics of Sport learns the performances in sport skills. Result expected is the acquisition of knowledge and ability to analyze some sport techniques whichare safe, efficient, and effective; being capable to detect the wrong or correct techniquesand also being able to remedy it precisely. Besides, it is also expected that certaincapacities of doing renovation can be afforded. It is much better if there are some capabilities to provide or create some appropriate new methods.Out of the sport techniques, there are also needed some supporting factors such as:mechanical principles, balance, move patterns consisted of linear, rotation, and complex moves, moving area, that are of planar and non-planar area, cardinal area consisted of sagital, frontal and transversal area. Also about kinetics that is the cause ofmovement, and kinematics that is the study of object movement with time and spatialconcept regardless of its causes. Moreover, teachers of physical education require to have a minimal base of biomechanics of sport, though is not circumstantial but extent. Meanwhile, coaches require tomastering its basic and also broad knowledge, so that they are able to improve untilthe highest technique.Keyword: Application, Biomechanics

Abstract

Pursuant to observations and facts which the writer sees frequently in thisfield, there are still a lot of physical education teachers showing less professionalismin their jobs. Professionalism of a physical education teacher can be seen while goingto teach his students in the field, for example in the teaching preparation, the management of exercises to be taught, the time management, the teaching materials mastering, etcetera. The ability of planning an athletic learning material at school has a close relationshipwith the management of the program of the athletic learning: whether it is going well ornot, how the learning sequences are, and also how to manage appliances and facilitiesis, etcetera. To plan an athletic learning at school, a teacher of the physical education has to comprehend the characteristics of each athletic branch and how to arrange matters of athleticlearning in the physical education. Therefore, its management and its preparation arrangement are A. Foreplay Phase, B. Main Exercise Phase (a. Games/plays, b. MainExercise, consisted of the elementary and advanced techniques).Keyword: Planning, Managing, Athletic, and Physical Education

Abstract

The Instruction of physical education is closely associated with the motiondevelopment as continuum changes in the motion behavior along human life that arehappened through interactions between characteristics of the task of motion, individualbiological factors, and the local environmental conditions.A study of the human motion development is often seen from various categories leading to imbalances of the developmental process, that is at the domains (cognitive, affective, psychomotor), or the interrelation of behavioral-age (under five-year-old, child, adolescent, adult, middle age, old), or from a biological view, in the environment andperspective of the task of motion. The concept of the motion development itself is learned through three ways that are: longitudinal, cross-sectional and mixed-longitudinalstudy. The stages of the motion development can be classified into various means thatare: age chronology (biological age, morphological age, age of skeleton’s growth, toothage, sexual age, emotional age, mental age, age of self-conception, and perceptual age).Teachers of the physical education are required to instill the concept of motion to allstudents and not to forget the important factor “move as an important characteristic oflife”. The appliance of the physical education at school or in informal condition shouldbe able to lead all students to master their own skills in maintaining and improving theirmotion ability. To a further implication, the application of the conventions of the motiondevelopment into the instruction of the physical education needs a clear distinctionbetween the Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School. Thatdistinction is good at the target orientation, material, and its process of learning. Keywords: Motion development and physical education

Abstract

Badminton game socialization is very needed on elementary school age childrenbecause it is suitable with condition of elementary school age children posture. One ofthose adjustments is a tool of game used is relatively light in accordance with muscularcapacity of elementary school children. To improve children’s independency in orderthat is expected, it needs to give an interesting extrinsic motivation to do badmintonactivity. In presenting game material, it is better to adjust with skill of students so that it stillneeds to add movements enrichment (multi lateral skill) that function to completemovement memories in their brain screen. If this movement memory is taken out atany time, it is useful for children to ease learning new movements and to do addedmovement in rescuing themselves from possibility injured. In order that children donot bored fastly, presentation method uses playing approach. Therefore in foreplay itis chosen playing activity that can increase temperature of body to prepare physicaland psychological condition before running heavier activities.Types of introduction through games lead to badminton activity are, for example, byshot ball, and head throwing by shuttlecock. Although badminton has been competedon early age, the important thing through this game competition is students can addexperiences to recognize their environment more, look playing-schedule, prepare eatand drink time, prepare clothes, shoes and choose transportation means in order notcoming late. Besides that, they can learn accepting defeat, conceding strength of otherpeople and gaining social-interaction experiences not given at school. The materialpresented consists of many varieties of foreplay, running variation, individual gymnastics, in pair gymnastics, games, kinds of raket-handling, overhead stroke posture, lob, dropshot and smash stroke also foot-movement doing. Keywords: Badminton, Early Age, Socialization

Abstract

Development of science and technology brings alteration from active way tonon-active or having a lot of sit way of life. It is caused by machine replaces work thatpreviously done used muscle strength. This non-active way of life brings about hipokinesa disease that is one of cause of heart, hypertension, stroke and obesity diseases. Tomaintain physical hale and hearty, students, employee, old age man and other groupof society need to do physical activities regularly. Reality shows that globalization occurin the campaign improving physical hale and hearty.Although in America movement to improve hale and hearty has begun in 1965 wasfully-supported by the presidents, result of survey showed that after 15-years-done,physical healthy level of participants did not increase, even tend to decrease. The causewas physical education program which was done did not support to maintain and toimprove physical hale and hearty level. The movement of physical hale and heartywas proclaimed by President Soeharto in state speech with sport slogan “memasyarakatkan olahraga dan mengolahragakan masyarakat”. Reality shows that populationof cities in Indonesia are much aroused to do physical activities. And, as in America, itcan be predicted that physical education program in Indonesia is also cannot maintainand improve physical hale and hearty of participants because educational institutionin Indonesia does not have sport facilities and equipment as developed countrieshave. This constitutes a challenge for physical education teacher and related institution. There are enough evidences that hale and hearty program in work places resultsadvantages such as reducing healthy maintenance cost of employee, number of employee’s absence in work time, work spirit of employee and also increasing productivity. In Indonesia this program needs to be encouraged in every company by providingthose sport facilities and equipments. Employee is an important and vital asset forcompany and government or private institution. The more prosperity of population in one country as consequences of developmentheld, the more the member of old age population increased. To make old age population not be a burden to government and society in maintaining their health, it needsan attempt to improve their hale and hearty by carrying out physical activities programthat is adjusted to them and is managed by professional staff. There should be educational institutions that produce professional staff to manage hale and hearty programfor employee and old age man.Keyword: Physical Activities, Science and Technology.

Abstract

Comprehending sport as a science and also profession needs a clear mapping. Sport can become a concept of science, but can also be regarded as a conceptof a profession. As a science, sport can be contended as a science applying sport asits medium of education. But it also can be stated as an educational science which isin its educational process it uses sport as a means. As a profession, sport is a work which traditionally relates to the extensive, importanteducation: academic education, and also a high standard of behavior. Sport will beregarded as a profession as long as it pays some attention to conditions above. From the scientific standpoint, a sport or a study of sport is still “multidisciplinary”, butlater it becomes “cross-disciplinary”. Meantime, sport education as a discipline impliesa meaning that the sport education owns some natures of a “cross-disciplinary” science.Keyword: Sport, Science, Profession

Abstract

Curriculum of 2004 that is called a Competence-based Curriculum demandsfor all subject lessons to apply a learning approach which is capable to strive for thedevelopment of student’s ability in managing the learning acquirements (competency)that is in appropriate with each condition. Thereby, the learning process will be moreconcerned about how students learn than what they learn. Curriculum of 2004 placesstudents as educated subjects, that is, involves students in the course of learning moreoften. This approach is derived from an assumption that students possess potencies tothink by themselves, and those potencies can only be realized as long as they aregiven a lot of opportunity to think by themselves.Contextual approach (Contextual Teaching and Learning/ CTL) is a concept of learning, assistive to teachers in correlating between matters that they teach and situations ofthe real world of students, and in pushing students to make a relation for knowledgethey already have with its applications in their life as members of family and society, byentangling six principal components of effective learning, that are: Constructivism,Questioning, Inquiring, Learning Community, Modeling, and Authentic Assessment. AStudy of physical education using contextual approach is expected to assist in reachingtargets of physical education. Physical move experiences obtained by students areexpected, not because of following the example of or imitating teachers, but becauseof students find their own move patterns through teachers’ guidance/ facility.Keyword: Curriculum, Contextual Approach, Physical Education
