Abstract

Discharge planning is a behavior of nurses in nursing services. Common implementation of discharge planning is only given when the patient will go home from the hospital. A descriptive research about discharge planning showed that nurses who did discharge planning when the patient go home from the hospital were 89, 47 % (Setyowati, 2011).The purpose of this research was to identifying the implementation of discharge planning. The research was a descriptive research with cross sectional design. The respondents are 103 taken by purposive sampling technique. The results of the research indicated that 48 (46.6%)  respondents are well enough in implementation of discharge planning. The advice for nurses departement in the hospital to arrange the standard of discharge planning in a short time.

Abstract

Parenting is a process in a family, the interaction between parents and their children. Parenting has been applied since the child was born and adjusted in accordance with the age and stage of development, for example in children aged 10-12 years. The mentioned age is the preadolescent’s period that has various development characteristics that will affect an  individual perspective. Individual knowledge about themselves, the combination of feelings, attitudes, and perceptions are labeled as self-concept. This study aimed to determine the correlation between parenting style of parents with school-age child’s self concept (10-12 years). The type of research was the non-experimental quantitative with correlation study and data collection using questionnaires. Respondents in this research were children aged 10-12 years and determined by total sampling technique. Total respondents were 149 people. Data were verified by using Chi Square and the results showed that there was correlation between parents’ parenting style with school-age child’s self concept (10-12 years) (x2=6.808; p=0.033). In the authoritatif parenting, more children were found with positive self-concept 73.3%, while the authoritarian and permissive parenting got more children with negative self-concept that was 18.9% and 28.4%. It was suggested that parents should apply authoritatif parenting where children 10-12 year olds with the most positive self-concept are derived from the style, the school and parents should collaborate to improve student achievement accordance with the interests and abilities, community nurses is expected with their role in the community to be able to help locate the problem and provide health education related to parenting style and children’s self-concept

Abstract

Immunization is one of the efforts to increase impenetrability of body and contagion eradication. The high grade of mortality child and baby in Indonesia caused decline degree of society health, one of the effort to overcome this problem is giving the basic immunization to the babies and the children completely. But this program still have problems, it is the refusal of the parents. Parental refusal of immunization is due to the incorrect assumption that developed in the community about immunization, low levels of knowledge and awareness of the lack of immunization The purpose of this research is to describe characteristics mothers’ knowledge about the basic immunization for children. This research used quantitative research, with descriptive survey design. Samples were 88 peoples taken by purposive sampling. The result of this research showed mothers who have good knowledge is 62.5% and who have less knowledge 37.5%. The conclusion of this research that most mothers have good knowledge about the basic immunization for children, and a good knowledge of this is expected to support the good immunization status for children

Abstract

Basic human needs are the elements needed by man to maintain life and health. According to Abraham Maslow basic human needs consist of physiological needs, self security needs, love and belonging needs,self esteem, and self actualization. Dementia is a condition in which a person experiences gradual decline or cognitive impairment that will eventually decrease this ability. so as to interfere his or him the activity and cause a lack of fulfillment of basic needs of among elderly. The purpose of the study was to find a picture of the frequency of fulfillment of basic human needs of the elderly with dementia in the Posyandu elderly Tembalang Village. The design used in the research is descriptive and mean while the method used is cross sectional approach. Sampling technique uses total sampling, with 32 people. In analyze the data the researcher uses descriptive analysis. These results of the research shows that, 59,4% the physiological needs was fulfilled, 56,2% the self security needs was not fulfilled, 56,2% the love and belonging needs was fulfilled,  59,4% the self esteem needs was fulfilled, and 46,9% the self actualization needs was not fulfilled. The role of family as a support system in the fulfillment basic human needs of the elderly with dementia that registered in Posyandu elderly Tembalang village.

Abstract

Urinary elimination is one of the body's metabolic process that aims to remove the residue from the body. Many factors influence the changes in urine volume and quality as well as the client's ability to urinate. Changes in urinary elimination may also occur in women who are pregnant. The purpose of this study to describe the picture of a 24-hour urine volume in pregnant women in the work area Mangkang health center. This type of quantitative research using descriptive method approach. Observation data collection sheet. Number of respondents 51 people with accidental sampling technique. Results of research showed that respondents have urine volume> 1600 mL in trimester 1 of 4 people (7.8%), second trimester there are 18 people (35.3%), third trimester there are 12 people (23.5%) and respondents with urine volume> 1500 mL in trimester 1 of 4 people (7.8%), second trimester as many as 8 people (15.7%), trimester 3 of 3 people (5.9%). Respondents who had urine volume range 1500 - 1600 ml in trimester 1 of 1 people (2.0%) and second trimester as many as 1 person (2.0%). There are 36 respondents experienced an increase in urine volume of normal adult urine volume of about 1500-1600 ml. Fluid intake in the mother during pregnancy should be increased because of increased fluid requirements during pregnancy

Abstract

Self-esteem is a individual appraisal, feeling, view to her self or something related to her self that is expressed to the dimension Significance, Power, Competence,Virtue. This studywas aimedtoidentifythe relationshipbetween Self-Esteem anddietary behaviorin femaleadolescent (age 15-17 years) inSMAN 15 Semarang.Design used in this study are correlational descriptive with cross sectional design. Sampling was stratified random sampling method of 170 respondents and using chi-square analysis. The results of the study note that as many as 113 respondents (66.9%) had high self esteem and 57 respondents (33.1) has a low self esteem.Foryoung womenwhowant togo on a dietshould pay attention tonutrition, health andnurses canplay a roleasan educator andcounselor

Abstract

Child care is a mother duty as a homemaker. This duty is shifted because of the increasing number of working mother. The interviews data explained that the number of trader’s mother at Adiwerna Market Tegal Regency were 405 (73,24%)  from 553 traders. Mother’s job as a trader has impact on the experiences in caring for children. The purpose of this research was to identify the experiences of trader’s mother in childcare at Adiwerna market Tegal regency. This research was using phenomenological qualitative design with Collaizi data analyze. The data were collected from 4 participants through in depth interview. The result of this research was showed 14 themes, such as: to do the mother’s role in household duties; to do the activities as a mother; to fulfill of children needs; the goals of childcare for child and mother; the action to fulfill the children need; the positive and negative impacts of trade in childcare; the internals and externals helps of the mother to care the children; the internals and externals fences of the mother to care the children; the existence of child care and market service unit. The result of this study is expected to provide recommendation of input for community nurses to be more active to improve the childhealth in the market community

Abstract

Pre-school children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) cannot concern in long time and the attention can be easily distracted. Many parents realize it after the children enter the primary school. The family, especially mother is the closest support system of the children, who can make efforts to minimize the worse symptom and effect in children with ADHD. The purpose of the research was to explore mothers’ experience in doing parenting to the children with risk of ADHD in Semarang. This was a qualitative research with phenomenological approach. The data were collected using in depth interview method to 5 samples chosen by purposive sampling method. This research showed that the implementation of parenting children with risk of ADHD have not used determining rules consistently using the daily activity schedule. In doing parenting children with risk of ADHD, mothers usually use rewards and punishments. The support system for mother showed by emotional, instrumental and appreciation support. The research concluded that the implementation of parenting children with risk of ADHD by mother showed by the way mother determining rules consistently, the using of rewards and punishments which are influenced by the support system

Abstract

Regurgitation is the return of a number of the undigested food from the stomach. Regurgitation occurs in most healthy babies aged 3 months. Although normal, the excessive regurgitation can lead to various complications that would interfere with the growth of the baby if not prevented and handle with the right way. The purposed of this study is to determine the effect of health education about regurgitation on mother practice to preventing and dealing regurgitation on babies (0-3 months) in the Kelurahan Pudak Payung. This research plan methode used quasi experimental approach with one group pre test - post test design. Data collection tools is a checklist that has been tested using the correlation coefficient biserial validity and reliability testing with KR techniques (Kuder Richardson)-20. Univariate analysis of the data showed that before the health education, practices to prevent either the percentage of 52% and good handling practices with percentages 56%, after health education, practices to prevent either the percentage of 72% and good handling practices with a percentage of 60%.Analysed of bivariate data using Paired T-Test. The results showed significant differences between the practices of mothers in preventing regurgitation before and after health education with p value 0.00< α 0.05 and there are significant differences between the practices of mothers in dealing with regurgitation before and after health education with p value 0.0< α 0.05. Information from this study can be expected by the mothers to practice prevention of regurgitation in the right way such as improving breastfeeding technique and help baby burp after the baby feeds and treatment of regurgitation in the right way such as help baby burp after the baby had regurgitation and tilting the entire body of the baby when the baby has regurgitation every time they care of their babies

Abstract

Breast cancer is one type of cancer which number of events is highest in Indonesia. Breast cancer cases in Sukoharjo increased from 402 cases in 2008 and reached to 685 cases in 2011. Breast cancer incidence is increased with increasing age. However, young age is also not a guarantee of safety of breast cancer because the risk of breast cancer begins in adolescence. Therefore, breast self-exam is very important in adolescents as a means of early detection of signs and symptoms of breast cancer. This study aims to assess knowledge and understanding of adolescence females in Bakalan Village about the way to do BSE (procedure, time, and the result of doing BSE). This study is a quantitative study using a descriptive survey method. Sampling method used a proportionate stratified random sampling which involved 202 respondents aged 12-22 years old. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and percentage of the characteristics and knowledge of respondents. The analysis found that 133 respondents (65,8%) have less knowledge about the way to do BSE, 92 respondents (45,5%) have less knowledge about procedure of BSE, 95 respondents (47%) have less knowledge about the time of BSE, and 94 respondents (46,5%) have less knowledge about the result of doing BSE. Parties Sukoharjo District Health and local health centers are expected to increase the knowledge of adolescence females about breast self-socialization program on BSE from an early age
