Abstract

This study aims to understand how the contract worker loyalty in the health sector and role of organizational climate on contract worker loyalty. The research participants consisted of 288 contract worker in the health sector Demak District Hospital. Participants consisted of 109 nursing medical personnel, 65 non-nursing medical personnel, and 114 support staff, which is divided into 109 men and 179 women. This research design uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a non-probabability sampling method, namely purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this research are contract worker loyalty scale and organizational climate scale. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the role of organizational climate on the contract worker loyalty by 25,8%. The aspect support and warmth of the organizational climate is the highest aspect that determines the contract worker loyalty by 12,85%. Therefore, organizations are expected to provide better support and warmth for contract worker loyalty.

Abstract

Students at traditional Muslim school can be at risk of experiencing academic burnout due to the many routines carried out while undergoing various activities at the cottage. This situation makes students need social support and attention from peers who experience similar problems. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between peer social support and academic burnout for students at traditional Muslim school. This study involved 170 students at the Annuriyah Islamic Boarding School in Demak. Sampling was carried out using a saturated sampling technique. The peer social support measurement tool used has adequate reliability (️α=0.887), as well as the academic burnout measurement tool (️α=0.908). The analysis used is simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study found that peer social support was found to have a significant negative relationship with academic burnout, which means that the higher the support provided, the lower the perceived academic burnout. The effective contribution of peer social support to burnout is 41.2%. Based on the research results obtained, providing psychoeducation on the importance of support between friends in Islamic boarding schools needs to be done to prevent or overcome the problem of academic burnout for students.

Abstract

Closeness is a quality predictor of a harmonious parent-child relationship. Closeness demonstrates a mutually influencing parent-child relationship involving physical, mental and emotional aspects. This research aims to explore the dynamic of closeness in parent-child relationships between parents and their late adolescents’ sons and daughters in Javanese families. The research uses qualitative method through a thorough interview. Research respondents were six late adolescents’ in their undergraduate studies of which were selected based on the fulfillment of criteria. The qualitative analysis uses a phenomenologis perspective. The research results show the strongest reasons for being close to their fathers are because fathers are understanding, caring, and guiding. The strongest reasons for being close to their mothers are because they are understanding, caring and accompanying. Fathers-mothers understand and care based on the father-mother role in Javanese families, referred to as asih, fathers guide (asah), and because mothers accompany (asuh). Closeness with fathers occurs more in informal and recreational activities, whereas closeness with mothers are related to household tasks. The interesting findings of this study are an external condition that influence parent child relation to be closer or otherwise. External condition that influence closeness are parent approach to their children, technological advancement, differences in vision in choosing a partner, and unfortunate experiences with one parent.

Abstract

The growing need for social entrepreneurship to help solve various social problems has prompted a lot of research on social entreneurship.the factor that can influence the formation of social entrepreneurial intentions are also widely studied. One of the influencing factors is prior experience.prior experience means that a person has been in direct contact with social issues or has experience working as a volunteer with social organizations. Therefore, the literature study aims to review whether prior experience with social problems is related to entrepreneurial intentions in teenagers and young adults. Furthermore, in the analysis process, this research uses the literature study method by collecting various sources from scientific journals, scientific articles, books related to research variabies the result were obtained from the analysis of research result from 15 journais published from 2017-2021. The results showed that prior experience related to social problems influence social entrepreneurial intentions.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to prove the influence of personality hardiness and social support of subordinates on the orientation of lleadership behavior at the Principal of the Early Childhood Education School 'Aisyiyah in Gresik, East Java. The correlational quantitative method was used in this study. The research population is the Principal of Kindergarten and Playgroup 'Aisyiyah in Gresik Regency totaling 87 people. A total of 71 people are willing to be research respondents. All participants were female, aged over 25 to 55 years. Data collection techniques for the three variables were carried out by surveying using a questionnaire. Yulk's (1999) leadership behavior orientation scale has three types of orientation, namely task, with 5 items; relationship with 6 items and changes with 6 items. Hardiness scale with 5 items Bartone (1995); and the social support scale of subordinates refers to Sarafino with 10 items. All items have a loading factor greater than 0.6. Conbach's alpha coefficient of each measuring instrument is greater than 0.8. Data processing with SmartPLS student version 3 for measurement model analysis, fit model analysis and structural model analysis. The results of the study prove that the hardiness personality and social support of followers partially affect leadership behavior on task orientation, relationship orientation and change orientation. The results also prove that the hardiness personality and social support of subordinates simultaneously affect task orientation leadership behavior, orientation relationship and orientation change.

Abstract

In the last two decades, educational institutions around the world have massively implemented technology in learning, but there is no full implementation of distance learning in its application. The pandemic has dramatically made a full shift from face-to-face learning to online-based distance learning. It can be said that teachers are no exception in Indonesia experiencing a disrupting phase in carrying out the main task of learning. This qualitative study aims to explore teacher readiness in implementing online learning policies. The research questions are 1) How is the psychological response (cognitive, affective, and behavioral) of teacher readiness; 2) What are the determinants of the readiness of teachers to carry out online learning. A total of 19 primary school teacher participants from several regions in Indonesia (M age = 39; Female = 73.68%; Male = 26.32%) were involved in online FGDs. The data analysis follows the stages of the thematic analysis of Braun and Clarke (2016). Five final themes were obtained that describe the psychological response of teachers' readiness to implement online learning: adaptation of online teaching behavior, planning and implementation of learning, teacher dedication, obstacles and constraints, and teacher expectations in online learning.

Abstract

The rising popularity of smartphones today, in addition to causing positive impacts on adolescent development, can also negatively affect the adolescents to the point of causing smartphone addiction. Therefore, it is crucial to find out the different factors that potentially trigger smartphone addiction. This study will investigate the determinant factors that affect smartphone addiction in Indonesian Adolescents. Using scoping literature review, the following procedures were carried out: establishing research protocol, identification, selection, data extraction based on inclusion criteria as well as the analysis, and reporting the results. 19 out of 180 articles were selected through 3 electronic databases, namely Google Scholar, Garuda Portal, and Microsoft academic. The results showed that both internal and external factors determined smartphone addiction in Indonesian Adolescents. Internal factorsof self-regulation, self- esteem and FoMo, gender, loneliness, cyberloafing, self- control, self-regulated learning and mindfulness, while external factors consisted of family functioning, ease of use and social anxiety, parental roles, academic stress as well as family and peer attachment. However, because of the variety of factors, it is not yet known which factors have the most impact on smartphone addiction. The implication of this study can be utilized by policy makers and practitioners to minimize the prevalence of smartphone addiction in Indonesian adolescentssuch ascombining internal and external factors in designing an intervention development module related to smartphone addiction in Indonesian adolescents. Additionally, the gaps found in this study can provide clues for future studies on smartphone addiction in Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relevance of positive-negative interaction ratio used as the predictor of marital satisfaction in Indonesia. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. The participants of this study were 402 people who were asked to fill out an online questionnaire, thus the data were analyzed using correlational analysis. Data collection used an adaptation of the ENRICH Martial Satisfaction Scale and the Positive-Negative Ratio Scale. Data analysis used was simple regression analysis. The results of the analysis showed the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.253 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (p<0.05). In conclusion, there was a significant positive relationship between the ratio of positive-negative interactions and marital satisfaction in married couples who lived in Indonesia. The effective contribution of the positive-negative interaction ratio to marital satisfaction was 6.4%, while the rest was another undisclosed factor.

Abstract

Children who have parents in prison will certainly experience changes in their lives, especially of mental health. The study aimed to examine the impact of mental health on children with parents in prison. This study uses the 2015 JBI guidelines conduct a scoping review using the Google Scholar, Scopus, Pubmed, Science direct, and Springerlink databases. The inclusion criteria used were articles with children whose parents were in prison, written entirely in English, using quantitative or qualitative study designs, and published between 2012-2022. The articles obtained were 122 articles. There were nine articles that met the inclusion criteria and passed the article quality assessment. The study result found that the situation of children with parents in prison had a positive and negative impact on their mental health. Other parties such as families, school psychologists, and caregivers play an important role in children's mental health. Future research can examine the effectiveness of the intervention by involving families, schools for children with incarcerated parents.

Abstract

The COVID 19 pandemic has brought many changes to families and caused various problems related to mental health, especially stress. This study aims to see family’s coping strategies in dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 situation. The method used is a systematic literature review using the 2015 PRISMA guideline. This study uses articles obtained from the Scopus, Proquest, ScienceDirect, and Springerlink databases. The article search method was carried out by entering the keywords "Coping Strategies" AND "Family" AND "COVID 19". The inclusion criteria for articles used are articles written in English, published in peer-reviewed journals, discussing coping strategies for families during the covid pandemic, using quantitative, mixed methods, and qualitative design, published between 2020-2021, and no cultural boundaries. There are 6 articles on coping strategies carried out by families during the COVID 19 situation met the inclusion research criteria. The results found that the coping strategies used by families during the pandemic were included in the problem focused form of coping mechanism, including sharing tasks between family members, managing time between work and family, and asking help from other groups. Coping strategies have a positive impact on problems experienced by families. Other parts outside the family have an important role in the family's coping strategy by providing social support. Future research can focus on coping strategies on certain conditions and cultures during the COVID 19 situation.
