Jurnal Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Halu Oleo aims to advance knowledge, research, innovation, and professional practice in chemistry education. The journal provides an academic platform for researchers, lecturers, teachers, students, education practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate original and significant scholarly works addressing theoretical, empirical, methodological, and practical issues in chemistry teaching and learning. The journal is committed to promoting evidence-based educational practices, innovative instructional approaches, and the effective integration of science and technology into chemistry education. It also seeks to strengthen the connection between research findings and classroom practices across secondary schools, higher education institutions, and other formal or non-formal educational settings. The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, development studies, case studies, and other scholarly works within the following areas: 1. Chemistry teaching and learning at secondary and higher education levels; 2. Curriculum development and curriculum implementation in chemistry education; 3. Innovative teaching strategies, methods, models, and approaches in chemistry learning; 4. Development and evaluation of chemistry learning materials, modules, worksheets, textbooks, and teaching resources; 5. Academic motivation and self-efficacy are two important psychological constructs that play a fundamental role in supporting learning success and the professional readiness of pre-service teachers. This study aimed to analyze the levels of academic motivation and self-efficacy and to examine the correlation between these two variables among pre-service teachers in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics education programs. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed, involving 90 first-year students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires measuring academic motivation (30 items, Cronbach's α = 0.813) and self-efficacy (20 items, Cronbach's α = 0.860), both demonstrating good internal consistency. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test, after the normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, p = 0.200) and linearity assumptions were confirmed. The results indicate that students' academic motivation was in the very high category (M = 86.84, SD = 7.21), while self-efficacy was in the moderate category (M = 57.68, SD = 6.15). The correlation analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between academic motivation and self-efficacy (r = .484, p = .000, p < 0.01), indicating a moderate effect size. These findings suggest that, although pre-service teachers reported very high academic motivation, their self-efficacy remained at a moderate level, indicating that motivation alone may not be sufficient to build strong competence beliefs. The results imply the need for pedagogical interventions such as gradual mastery experiences, formative feedback, and strategy modeling by lecturers to strengthen self-efficacy and help translate students' motivational energy into more stable academic performance and teaching readiness, particularly within chemistry education contexts.

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of project-based worksheets utilizing pineapple peel waste in improving senior high school students’ chemistry literacy in body lotion production. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 17 Grade XI students at MA Al Jawami, Bandung. The learning process was implemented through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) stages, including problem identification, project planning, investigation, product development, evaluation, and dissemination. Data were collected using a chemistry literacy test covering content, context, process, and attitude dimensions as well as a scientific attitude questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-gain), and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed an improvement in students’ chemistry literacy after the implementation of the project-based worksheets with a high category. These findings indicate that project-based worksheets are effective in enhancing students’ chemistry literacy through contextual and experiential learning.
Development of a Chemo-Entrepreneurship-Oriented PjBL-STEM Interactive e-Module on Buffer Solutions to Improve Students’ Creative Thinking Skills

This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Lee & Owens model. Participants of this study were grade XI high school students. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and creative thinking ability tests, then analyzed using the average score, paired T-test, and N-Gain test. The results of the study showed that the developed e-module was very feasible based on the validation of material experts with an average score of 4.42 and validation of media experts with an average score of 4.7 in the very good category, and obtained very good responses from teachers with an average score of 4.44 and students with a percentage of one-on-one trials of 89.33%, small group trials of 87.11% and field trials of 87.29%. The effectiveness test showed a t-count value of 18.286 with Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 and N-Gain of 0.6836 (quite effective) and an increase in pretest-posttest of 32.76%. It can be concluded that the interactive e-module is valid, practical, and moderately effective in improving senior high school students' creative thinking skills on the topic of buffer solutions.
