Abstract

DKI Jakarta as a capital city of Indonesia has a high potential tourism to be developed. Yet, the contribution of the tourism industry to the PAD is smaller than the contribution of non tourism sector. This research aims to analyze the influence of the number of foreign and domestic tourists, investments in tourism, USD exchange rate, and the safety factor to local revenues of the tourism industry in Jakarta.             This research used multiple linear regression (OLS), in 1991-2012. Type of data used is secondary data obtained from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Department of Tourism and Culture Jakarta Capital City Government, Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board and other literature such as books and economic journals.            The result of regression analysis showed that the variable number of foreign and domestic tourists and USD exchange rate influence significantly to local revenues of the tourism industry in Jakarta whereas investment in tourism and safety factors variable had no significant effect. Simultaneous test result showed that overall variable number of foreign and domestic tourists, investment in tourism, USD exchange rate, and safety factor together indicate effect to local revenue of the tourism industry in Jakarta. R-square value of 0,931 which mean 93,1 percent of local revenue of the tourism variation can be explain from fourth variation of the independent variables (number of foreign and domestic tourist, investment in tourism, USD exchange rate and safety factor), whereas the remaining 6,9 percent is explained by other factor beyond the model.

Abstract

Economic growth is a measure of the success of economic development of a region. Economic development of a region can be seen from several economic indicators, one of  them is the level of unemployment. Increase in population led to rising labor force, but it is not matched with adequate number of jobs that have an impact on the growing number of unemployed. In the city of Magelang unemployment is quite high compared with cities and other districts in Central Java, which reached 13.28 percent in 2010.The purpose of the of the study was the analyze the influence of GDP, wages, inflation, and Dependency Ratio on the enemployment rate in Magelang and analyze the factors that most strongly influence the level of unemployment in Magelang in 1990-2010. The data used are time series of quantitative secondary data obtained from the BPS during the period 1990-2010. Regression model used is the method of multiple linear regression analysis.Based on the results of tests per out formed with simultaneous test (F test) show that overall the independent variables (GDP, inflation, wages, and Dependency Ratio) together have significant effect on the level of unemployment that occurred in Magelang. The value of R2 amounting to 0,556 which means 55,6 percent is explanatory to the dependent variable (unemployment rate), while the remaining 44,4 percent is explained by other variables outside of the model used.

Abstract

The highest level of unemployment in Central Java indicates that the process of employment in 35 district/cities Central Java is still low. Although the economic growths 35 districts/cities in Central Java have been increased, it not be able to absorb the numbers of labor forces. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of labor productivity, real wages and economic growth on the labor market in Central Java. This study used secondary data analysis tools with the data panel Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approachment or the Least Square Dummy Variable (lSDV) model, which consists of times series data during the period of 2008-2010 and cross section data of 35 districts / cities in Central Java. Result of this study proved that labor productivity gave significant negative effects on employment absorption, while real wages and economic growth have a positive effect on employment absorption. The negative outcome of regression coefficient showed that the increasing number in labor productivity could reduce the amount of employment absorption and the positive regression coefficient indicates that real wages and increasing economic growth could cause to increased employment absorption.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of wage, education, job village, number of dependents and marital status against migration decision to Semarang City. Disparity income between village and city is one of a reason from migrant to move to city with a hope will get bigger wage. The limitation of job in village also affect people’s decision to migrate to the city. This research analyzed using “logistic regression technic” thus Binary Logistic Regression. This technic used because the dependent variable is variable with two categories or binomial, means 1 is for willingness to stay and 2 is the opposite. The result of analysis Binary Logistic Regression is explain that influenced factors to circuler migration are wage variable (WAGE) with significant value (p-value 0,006) has a positive impact, education variable (EDU) with significant value (p-value 0,036) has a positive impact, and job in village variable (JOBVLG) with significant value (p-value 0,005) has a negative impact. Generally Binary Logistic Regression Model that used to explain factors of migration decision has a accuracy 70%. This is showing that respondent will be mostly having a circuler migration to earn money for family expenses.

The research sample is the entire village in the district by the number of respondents Kesesi 100 farmers. Determination of the number of respondents is based on calculations using formulas Slovin. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods, and methods of descriptive statistics. Descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods are used to measure the effectiveness of the fertilizer subsidy policy by using two main indicators, namely the right price and the right amount. While the descriptive statistical method used to determine the proportion of the various financing farmers in one growing season and to determine the amount of net income received by farmers in a single growing season. Results of this study showed that the fertilizer subsidy policy is considered not effective based on the price of subsidized fertilizer level retailers, the results showed 72.19 percent of farmers buy fertilizer at a price above the prevailing HET. Later than HET in terms of the use of fertilizers by farmers are also not in accordance with the recommendations of balanced fertilization. Penelititan results showed 62 percent of farmers use fertilizer farmers are still under the recommendation and 12 percent above the recommended recommendations. It can affect farmers' expenditure, in which case the proportion of research expenditure in the amount of fertilizer farmers 11 percent. Abstract

Throughout Indonesia's economic growth is relatively increased. During 2004-2010 its growth decreased in 2009 due to the impact of the global economic crisis. On the other side, the income gap between regions is caused by the concentration of a regional investment. This research purposed to determine how much inequality between provinces in Indonesia, and to determine the leading sectors in each of 33 provinces in Indonesia so that economic growth can be achieved optimally. The analytical method used was the analysis of economic growth, location quotient (LQ), Shift-share, Klassentypology, Williamson index and inverted U hypothesis. Results of this research showed that: the service and agriculture sectorincluding within the potential sectors to promote economic growth in each province in Indonesia. There still provinces of Indonesia which were classified in the relatively backward province, there are 14 provinces including the relatively backward regions. Income disparities between provinces in Indonesia in 2004-2010 is high (> 0.5) and had declined tendency. While the Kuznets’inverted “U” hypothesis which describes the relationship between growth and inequality prevailing in the Province of Indonesia.Based on these findings suggestions which could be submitted for the development of inter-provincial inequality in Indonesia is implementing development policies that prioritize the still relatively backward provinces without disregardupon the developed provinces which grown rapidly.
