Abstract

The aim of this study is to measure employee work motivation at the Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) Office in Magelang.Mixed methods approach was utilized in this study. The quantitative instruments were MWMS (Multidimentional Work Motivation Scale) and MAWS (Motivation at Work Scale) while interview was used for the qualitative instrument. The study involves 51 employees as the questionnaire respondents and 5 employees as interviewees.Based on the results of the quantitative and qualitative data, employees of Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) in Magelang have medium level of motivation to conduct their job. Implication for theory and practice were discussed.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to determine the effects of service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer value toward the customer loyalty of Asri Motor Semarang.            The Variable in this study consists of four variable, where in the first stage the variable customer satisfaction and customer value into a variable-free, while customer satisfaction variable will be variables bound. Then in the second stage variable service quality, customer satisfaction and customer value into a variable of mediation. The sample in this study of 100 respondents ( Customer of Asri Motor Semarang ). Samples taken with the accidental sampling techniques. Then the data collected through questionnaires conducted tests of validity and reliability, continued with the normality of data and path analysis.            Results of analysis showed that the quality of service : direct or indirect effect on customer loyalty (through customer satisfaction ). The variable quality of service directly most of its influence on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. While the value  of customers is the variable that most directly affects small towards customers satisfaction and customer loyalty. Then indirectly influence  the quality of service greater its effect on customer loyalty, through the mediation of customer satisfaction rather than variable to value costumers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to extend previous research on employee commitment to their organization within with the measurability and the fitness of the tested and reliable employee commitment scale items in a non-western culture within focus to investigate the effect of demographic characteristic (age, gender, education), tenure and pay satisfaction on affective commitment based background of the phenomena that occur in the commitment of contract  paramedical employees at the General Hospital of Semarang.This research was conducted at the General Hospital of the city  with A quantitative approachment.The data collection using five-point Likert scaled questionnaire administered to 75 contract  paramedical employees at the General Hospital of Semarang.The results indicates that there are no significant effect between both demographic characteristic (age, gender, education) and tenure on affective commitment.Conversely, the result indicate there is a positive significant correlation between pay satisfaction towards affective commitment at the General Hospital of Semarang.

Abstract

This  research  was  motivated  by  the  intense  competition  in  the  Indonesian wristwatch industry with the emergence of various new brands in the market. This is impacting (affect) on sales of Swiss Army watches that far adrift than its competitors. This study aimed to test the effect (influence) of brand equity elements which consist of brand awareness, perceived quality, brand associations and brand loyalty of purchase decision on the Swiss Army watches.The samples in this studi were 100 respondets who buy Swiss Army watches, repair or replace Swiss Army watches battery, and come to the store using  Swiss Army watches. The method used was purposive sampling ato spread questionnaries to the respondents. This study uses a quantitative analysis method, namely validity and reliability, the classic assumption test, linier regression analysis and the tesh the feasibility of the model.The data that have subjected the test of validity, reliability test and classical assumption  test  processed  using  SPSS  (Statistical  Package  for  Social  Science)  for Windows 7.Where the buying decision variable (Y), brand awareness (X1), perceived quality (X2), brand association (X3), and brand loyalty (X4). Hyothesis testing using t test showed that the three variables of brand awareness, perceived quality, brand associations has a significant positive effect to purchasing decision. Meanwhile, one other independent variables, brand loyalty have positive and not significant effect to purchasing decision. F test reveal that all independent variables are adequate to test dependent variable purchasing decision. Adjusted R Square of 0,425 shows that 42,5 percent of purchasing decision variation can be explained by four independent variables in the regression equation. While the rest 57,5 percent is explaindes by ither variables outside of the four variables used in this study.

Abstract

Deregulation in banking industry, which is started with API policy and its derivatives in 2004, makes the industry change a lot, whether in its structure or interaction. This will affect banks performance in Indonesia banking industry. One of the most noted indicator is bank efficiency.  This study is analyzing the effect of competition, size, capitalization and loans intensity to conventional bank efficiency in 2008 to 2012 period. Banking efficiency will be measured with stochastic frontier approach (SFA) and banking competition will be measured with Lerner Index. Analysis of the the effect of competition, size, capitalization and loans intensity to conventional bank efficiency will be conducted using ordinary least square (OLS) data panel method.The result of this study shows that competition level that occurred in conventional banks gives negative effect to bank efficiency, while bank size gives positive effect to bank efficiency. Capitalization gives negative effect, but insignificant, while loans intensity, though insignificant,  gives positive effect to the efficiency.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of region which have potentials on developing beauty products market especially on cosmetics and that pursued a lot of new brands for keep coming out. This matter makes the market competition get tigher and indirectly forced business for always have ways to survive. One of the biggest brand on cosmetics industry is Mustika Ratu, as a 25th yeas old brand, Mustika Ratu should be superior in matter of this competition and one the way to stay as superior is to make their customers keep on buying Mustika Ratu’s products. This study aimed to analyze the influence of celebrity endorser, advertising appeal, product quality to purchase decision of face mask Mustika Ratu using brand image as intervening variable. This study is conducted on all Mustika Ratu face mask’s customers in Semarang.Purposive sampling method is used for this research, samples were collected from 100 respondents (consumer who use face mask Mustika Ratu and who watch advertising of Mustika Ratu). Multiple regression analysis is used for this study.This results showed that celebrity endorser, advertising appeal and product quality has positive and signifcant effect on brand image (as intervening variable), and brand image  has positive and significant effect on purchase decision.

Abstract

Based on the phenomenon, the comparation between fair value and the market price plays an important role in the assessment of the shares to be undervalued or overvalued. The results ofthe assessment will affect the decision of investors to sell or buy shares in the stock market. This research aims to investigate the possible influence of the independent variables Return On Equity,growth, and working capital to the dependent variable overvalued valuation.The calculation method used to determine the fair value of the stock is Gordon GrowthModel.  From  some  previous  researchers,  said  that  the  Gordon  Growth  Model  became  quite accurate in calculating the fair value of the shares. In analyzing the effect of independent variables with dependent variables using logistic regression.Based on the results of logistic regression analysis for the three independent variables, showed that the ROE and growth have significant effect on the variable overvalued. It means thatROE and growth influence the possibility of overvalued in stock valuation. While working capital have not significant effect on the stock valuation.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to examine the effect of market structure (market share,) competition (lerner index), diversification (herfindahl-hirschman index), and credit risk (non performing loans) on Return on Asset (ROA) as a measure of profitability. Firm size is added as control variable on this research. This research used secondary data with population consist of 44 banking listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2012-2016. The purposive sampling method was used in selecting the research sample and 26 banking are chosen to being sample on this research. This research used multiple regression technique for measure the statistic analysis. The result of this research shows that market structure, competition and diversification has a positive significant effect on profitability, but credit risk has a negatif significant effect on profitability.

Abstract

Investment in the capital market especially stocks required an analysis in order to achieve the goal of getting the maximum return with a certain risk level. Analysis at the global or domestic macroeconomic level is one of an analysis step that needed to be done. In the previous studies, there are research gaps related to the relationship of global macroeconomic variables or domestic with the movement of the stock price index property. This study aimed to analyze the factors that affect the property stock price index.            The method’s steps in this research are descriptive analysis; stationarity test; Generalized AutoRegressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity model analysis (GARCH); best model selection test (Akaike information Criterion (AIC) test, Schwarz Criterion test (SC) and significance test); classical assumption test (normality test, heteroskedasticity test, multicolinearity test and autocorrelation test); also hypothesis testing (R2 test, F test, z test) using Eviews 8 program. This study has 108 samples using monthly data from 2006-2014 for each variables.            The output of this research indicate that the GARCH (1,1) is the best model that can explain the influence of global macroeconomic variables and also domestic macroeconomic against the property stock price index. Based on the hypothesis testing results, it shows that the BI rate has a negative and significant impact on the property stock price index. Exchange rates, DJIA index, NIKKEI 225 index and world gold prices has a positive and significant impact on the property stock price index. Meanwhile, inflation, the Fed rate and world oil prices have no significant effect on the property stock price index.

Abstract

This research purposes to finding the effect of physical work environment and non-physical work environment to employee performance through job satisfaction as intervening variabel (study on employees of unit weaving PT. Primatexco Indonesia).Data collected through distribution of questionnaires to 70 employees of unit weaving PT. Primatexco Indonesia with non random sampling. The techniques of data testing in this research includes validity test, reliability test, the classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, and the Sobel test to examine the mediation effect with software SPSS version 16 for Windows.The results of this research indicates that  physical work environment has positive and significant influence on the job satisfaction, non-physical work environment has positif and significant influence on job satisfaction, physical work environment has positive and significant influence on the employee performance, non-physical work environment has positive influence but not significant on the employee performance,  job satisfaction has positif influence but not significant on the employee performance, and job satisfaction hasn’t mediation effect on physic work environment and non-physic work environment to employee performance.
