Abstract

Religious moderation is a key concept in maintaining social harmony within multicultural societies while also contributing to individual mental health. This study aims to analyze the role of religious moderation as a pillar of balance in life and its implications for mental health from the perspective of guidance and counseling. The method used is a literature review employing a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that religious moderation plays a role in reducing social conflict, mitigating the potential for radicalism, and enhancing individual psychological balance through the strengthening of resilience and stress management. Implementation in guidance and counseling is carried out through a holistic approach, multicultural education, and community support. Thus, religious moderation makes a strategic contribution to building a mentally healthy and socially harmonious society. Keywords : Religious Moderation, Mental Health, Guidance and Counseling

Abstract

This study aims to reconceptualize Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the digital age by examining the dynamics of practice, knowledge, and power through a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach. While prior studies largely emphasize pedagogical and technological aspects, this research addresses the lack of critical analysis on discourse and epistemological transformation. Using Fairclough’s three-dimensional model (text, discursive practice, and social practice), this qualitative study analyzes digital Islamic educational content, including social media and online learning platforms. The findings indicate that digitalization reshapes religious knowledge in several ways. At the textual level, Islamic discourse tends to simplify complex concepts, leading to ideological reduction. At the discursive level, knowledge production becomes decentralized but is influenced by algorithmic logic and platform dynamics. At the social level, religious authority shifts from institutional legitimacy to digital symbolic capital based on visibility and popularity. The study reveals an epistemological paradox: digital media democratizes access to knowledge while simultaneously increasing risks of distortion and weakening validation mechanisms. This research contributes theoretically by integrating CDA into Islamic education studies and highlights the need to strengthen critical digital literacy and adaptive validation frameworks in contemporary IRE. Abstract

Characterized by adaptability, essential content, and the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile. The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum is conceptually aligned with this framework, particularly in its goal of nurturing faithful, pious, and morally upright individuals. Nevertheless, practical implementation reveals a discrepancy between the aspirational nature of the policy and the actual conditions on the ground. This study seeks to examine the relevance of the PAI curriculum within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. Employing a qualitative methodology, the investigation uses a bibliographic approach, examining policy documents, scholarly literature, and findings from previous studies. The research findings illustrate three categories of challenges. The first category pertains to planning issues: educators face obstacles in formulating Teaching Modules, Learning Outcomes (CP), Learning Objectives (TP), and Learning Objective Flows (ATP), alongside an insufficient understanding of diagnostic assessment. The second category addresses implementation challenges: practitioners struggle with applying differentiated instruction, formative-summative assessment techniques, and integrating PAI into the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). The third category encompasses external factor complications: constraints relating to infrastructure, passive learner characteristics, socio-economic variables in the community, and the limited allocation of 4 teaching hours per week. The study concludes that despite a conceptual alignment between the PAI curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, the realization of this potential is hampered by implementation challenges. It is essential to enhance teacher competence, ensure infrastructure availability, develop robust evaluation mechanisms, and strengthen the role of educators and the wider community. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between worship intensity and faith strengthening in children from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children program. Using a library research method with a qualitative approach, this study examines relevant literature through stages of data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that worship intensity has a close relationship with children's faith strengthening through four main mechanisms: (1) internalization of faith values through consistent worship habituation, (2) building emotional and spiritual closeness with Allah SWT, (3) forming positive habits that become children's character, and (4) developing intrinsic motivation in religion. The implementation of worship habits in the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children program is carried out through a holistic approach involving family, school, and community by integrating the values of tawhid, worship, morality, and muamalah. Challenges faced include the influence of digital technology, lack of role models, less engaging educational approaches, and socio-cultural pressures. Solutions include wise technology management, increased role modeling, development of creative learning methods, and building children's spiritual resilience. This research provides theoretical contributions to the development of PAI and practical recommendations for educators and parents in strengthening children's faith through systematic and sustainable worship habituation. Keywords: worship intensity, faith strengthening, Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study examines the epistemology of the khāriq li al-ʿādah phenomenon in the Qurʾān encompassing miracles, karāmah, irhāṣ, and sorcery employing a thematic exegesis (tafsīr maudūʿī) approach. This library research analyzes classical tafsir sources including al-Ṭabarī’s Jāmiʼ al-Bayān, Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr, al-QurṬubī’s al-Jāmiʼ li Aḥkām al-Qurʾān, alongside contemporary academic literature. The study yields three principal conceptual contributions: (1) attributional epistemology, positioning the source rather than the intensity of a phenomenon as the criterion of truth; (2) an epistemological classification of the four phenomena based on their source, purpose, and orientation; and (3) a Qurʾānic Epistemic Literacy model integrating source awareness, critical thinking, moral sensitivity, and orientation toward transcendent truth. The study further formulates pedagogical implications encompassing the integration of revelation-based epistemology into curricula, the cultivation of Qurʾānic-value-grounded critical literacy, and learning models that unite rationality with spirituality. In so doing, it contributes to the development of a more holistic and integrative epistemological framework for Islamic education. Abstract

The social transformation that has taken place in Saudi Arabia through the implementation  of Vision 2030 has brought about significant changes in religious, state, and gender relations, as well as opening up space for a reinterpretation of the role of women in contemporary Islamic discourse. This study aims to analyze how Vision 2030 encourages the reconstruction of women's roles through the Islamic feminism approach and identifies the negotiation dynamics between the state reform agenda and conservative religious authorities. The research uses a qualitative method with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates Islamic feminism, hermeneutics to Qur'anic texts, especially QS. An-Nisā' [4]:34, as well as public policy analysis. Data were obtained through a literature study of academic literature, Saudi Arabian government policy documents, and works by Islamic feminism thinkers. The results of the study show that Vision 2030 not only serves as an economic diversification agenda, but also as a political instrument that encourages the reinterpretation of religious norms regarding gender relations. Policy reforms, such as the lifting of the driving ban for women, the expansion of women's participation in the public sector, and the relaxation of the male guardianship system, reflect the state's efforts to build a more inclusive religious framework through the use of Islamic feminism discourses. However, the process still faces resistance from conservative clerics who maintain a patriarchal religious interpretation rooted in the tradition of Wahhabism. This study concludes that the transformation of the role of women in Saudi Arabia takes place dialectically through continuous negotiations between religious interpretations, the country's modernization agenda, and socio-political dynamics. These findings enrich the study of religious, gender, and political relations in contemporary Muslim societies that are undergoing a process of reform.
