Abstract

The intrauterine device resembles the letter T. This birth control is installed in the uterus as a barrier to sperm when going through the process of fertilization. Generally, there are two forms of the IUD. Namely, there is an IUD with copper material; for example, this type of ParaGard type has durability with a period of 21 years, and an IUD that has hormones in its content, such as Mirena and on this IUD must be replaced with a better one at the time of five years of use. However, it has various advantages, but the coverage that uses the IUD still needs to be improved. The reason is that women of childbearing age do not want to use this birth control method because the use of the IUD makes the patient anxious to increase. Treating slow deep breathing techniques carried out in a way that is in the position of the IUD KB acceptor sitting or lying down will cause sympathetic nerve activity to decrease, parasympathetic nerves to increase, and body relaxation to increase until anxiety in KB acceptors to be reduced. The purpose of the slow breathing action is to analyze whether the slow deep breathing technique affects anxiety to decrease and not be anxious, which is carried out on prospective IUD acceptors at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital. Data collection was carried out before and after being given an intervention to overcome anxiety problems on 21 February 2024 at 13.50 WIB, namely with acceptors trained to hold their breath for three seconds, pursing their lips, and exhaling through their mouth slowly for 6 seconds. Feel the stomach move down. Encourage acceptors to repeat these steps 5-7 times for 15 minutes. The measuring tool for anxiety levels in acceptors in this study is the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale questionnaire ab, abbreviated as HARS, measuring instruments used before and after slow breathing action. This study concludes that the technique used in giving slow, deep Breathing to Mrs. Y is an effort to reduce anxiety in prospective IUD acceptors at Hj Bunda Halimah Hospital.

Abstract

Background. Breast cancer is the most common disease suffered by women, impacting more than 1.5 million women each year and also causing the largest number of women deaths caused by cancer. In 2015, there were 507,000 women died that caused of breast cancer, which means about 15% of all cancer deaths in women were caused by breast cancer. It can be seen from women at 2.2 per 1,000 inhabitants and men at 0.6 per 1,000 inhabitants. Breast cancer is the highest percentage of new cases (43.3%) and a high percentage of mortality (1the 2.9%) of women in the world. Breast cancer tends to affect elderly women over 50 years old. There were 8-10 cases of breast cancer occurring at the age. Behavior is the action or behavior of an organism that can be observed and learned. Purpose: The research's purpose was to find out the correlation between the knowledge and attitude of women at a fertile age toward breast self-examination (BSE). Method: The instrument of the research was questionnaires. This research used Cross Sectional Design. The population was 100 of fertile age. It used Purposive Sampling and was conducted at Baloi Permai Public Health Centre Batam City in February-September 2020. The researcher used analytics to analyze data. Result: The resulting analytics that among 100 respondents, there were 72 women had good knowledge 28 women had less knowledge, 54 women had a good attitude and 46 women had a bad attitude. 54 women did a breast self-examination (BSE) and 46 women did not do a breast self-examination (BSE). Statistical test results using chi-square obtained (α) = 0.05 and p = 0.01 which means p-value< (α), it means that both variables correlate, so it can be concluded there was a correlation of knowledge and attitude of women on fertile age toward breast self-examination (BSE).

Abstract

Background: Postpartum Blues is a psychological condition that occurs in mothers after childbirth. In Indonesia, the prevalence of Postpartum Blues is 1 to 2 per 1000 births. As many as 53% of postpartum mothers experience symptoms such as mood swings and difficulty regulating emotions for no apparent reason, which is an indication of Postpartum Blues syndrome. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of Postpartum Blues syndrome in mothers after childbirth. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional strategy. This study involved a sample of 30 postpartum mothers selected by the Accidental Sampling technique. The data collection process was carried out using a questionnaire. This study used the Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed that in PMB X Batam City, the majority of postpartum mothers were adults (56.6%), had several previous pregnancies (56.7%), had completed high school education (46.6%), and did not receive social support (53.3%). The results showed that there was a significant relationship between age, parity, education, and social support with the occurrence of Postpartum Blues in postpartum mothers (p=0.003, p=0.024, p=0.441, p=0.282, and p=0.011). Conclusion: The incidence of Postpartum Blues in postpartum mothers is influenced by age, parity, and social support. However, there is no relationship between education level and the incidence of Postpartum Blues.

Abstract

One of the main causes of maternal mortality in developing countries such as Indonesia is puerperal infection. One of them is perineal wounds caused by childbirth, which, if not treated, has the potential to cause infection due to the entry of germs through the wound sutures. This research design is a Quasy experiment, a posttest-only control group design. The population was postpartum mothers, with a sample size of 20 people taken by simple random sampling. The study results were then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the t-test statistical test. Of the ten respondents from the experimental group studied, the average healing time of perineal wounds after the use of a combination of betel leaf decoction water and binahong leaves was 3.00 days, while in the control group, it was 7.80, meaning that the experimental group was four days faster than the control group. The results of statistical tests with independent t-tests with α = 0.05 obtained p value = 0.001, which means p-value <0.05; thus, there is an effect of using betel leaf decoction water and binding leaves on perineal wound healing time.

Abstract

Background: High-risk pregnancy is a condition that can affect the state of the mother and fetus in the pregnancy at hand. In primigravida, mental readiness is still significantly lacking in the age of ≤20 years, so in the face of labor is not yet steady. Primigravida with age ≥35 years physically, the risk of complications is greater, but for mental preparation is more prepared. Social support can have a positive impact on maternal anxiety so poor support can affect the anxiety of pregnant women. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the high-risk age of mothers with the level of maternal anxiety during pregnancy. Methods: Quantitative research with cross-sectional correlation analytic design. The sample in this study was 30 pregnant women who performed pregnancy checks at PMB Suratmi Kota Batam with a total sampling technique. Data analysis using chi-square test. Data collection using the Rating Scale for Anxiety (HaRS) questionnaire. Results: The results of this study showed that the age variable of pregnant women aged ≤20 years was 21 people (70.0%), and pregnant women ≥35 years were 9 people (30.0%) with high risk. Anxiety variables from 30 pregnant women: Most of the 15 people (50.0%) experienced moderate anxiety, 5 people (16.7%) experienced mild anxiety, 8 people (26.7%) experienced severe anxiety, and those who did not experience anxiety were 2 people (6.7%). The relationship between high-risk age and the level of maternal anxiety during pregnancy at PMB Suratmi Batam City, the p-value=0.002 <α 0.05. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the
