Abstract

Human resources are an important factor for companies to operate. Human resources have a major contribution to the existence of the organization through its overall performance. Human resources that are not considered by the company can have a negative impact on the sustainability of the company. This research was conducted to show that organizational culture and work environment affect the overall performance of workers either partially or simultaneously. This research was conducted at a company engaged in banking in Magelang City. The population in this study were all employees who had permanent employee status and the respondents were forty-seven respondents. The primary data source is in the form of a questionnaire that contains a chart of various statements related to variable indicators and is compiled using a Likert scale. The results of the research conducted indicate that organizational culture and work environment affect the overall performance of workers, either partially or simultaneously. The limitation of this study is that online data collection makes researchers less flexible in finding and obtaining information. In future research, it is hoped that researchers can further explore the potential relationship between variables in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of employees. This study uses the variables of work environment, competency and work motivation to analyze the effect on employee performance. The population used is 31 employees using a questionnaire method by providing a list of questions directly to the respondents. The sampling method uses a total sampling method where the entire population in the study is sampled. The data analysis technique in this study uses SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis which is operated through the Partial Least Square (PLS) program. The results of this study found that the work environment and competency has a significant effect on employee performance, work motivation has no significant effect on employee performance, meaning that the higher the influence of work motivation then does not affect on employee performance. The work environment has no significant effect on work motivation, competency has a significant effect on work motivation, indirectly the work environment through motivation has an insignificant influence on performance, and indirectly competency through motivation has an insignificant effect on the performance employees.

Abstract

Financial distress is the initial condition of the company before going bankrupt. This means that it is important to prevent financial distress to anticipate the occurrence of bankruptcy. This study aims to determine the effect of financial ratios and company size on financial distress. The independent variables used in this study consist of return on assets, current ratio, debt to assets ratio, sales growth, and company size. The type of research chosen is causal associative. The population in this study is a company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the consumer goods industry sector for the 2017-2020 period. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling which produces 12 companies as samples in the consumer goods industry. The data were analyzed using logistic regression and calculated using SPSS version 26 software. The result showed that the return on asset ratio had a negative significance value on financial distress. While other variables, namely the current ratio, debt to assets ratio, sales growth, firm size have no significant effect on financial difficulties. In this regard, more attention is needed when the return on assets decreases in value to avoid financial distress conditions.

Abstract

This study is to determine the impact of the current ratio, earning per share, and firm size during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research case study focuses on LQ45 emitens’ index on 2020. This is quantitative research with an associative approach. The population of this study consists of 45 companies with ten companies as samples that are selected using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method for this study uses SPSS 20 software. The results show that the current ratio has no causality effect on stock return. A high value of current ratio not only illustrates the company’s strong liquidity position, but can also indicate inefficient use and management of cash and other short-term assets. Earning per share does not affect the stock return. High EPS does not necessarily reflect the effectiveness of good company management, this is because the cost of capital is not calculated in obtaining net profit after tax. In addition, the dividend is not necessarily only determined by the value of EPS because many factors are considered through the general meeting of shareholders. Firm size does not affect the stock return. Large companies with high total assets will tend to invest more capital. In a stable economic condition, profits will tend to increase. However, in crisis conditions, large companies tend to have large operating costs so that they have the potential to burden the company and decrease return. Therefore, large companies do not necessarily provide large stock returns for their investors, and vice versa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the direct effect of career development on employee turnover, the direct impact of compensation for employee turnover, the indirect effect of career development on employee turnover through employee engagement, and the indirect effect of compensation on employee turnover through employee engagement. The analytical tool used is Path Analysis descriptively using SPSS. The results are: (1) career development directly negatively and significantly influences employee turnover; (2) Compensation negatively and significantly influences employee turnover; (3) career development has an indirect negative and significant influence on employee turnover through employee engagement; (4) compensation has an indirect negative and significant influence on employee turnover through employee engagement. The company is advised to provide more access to information to all employees regarding fair promotion opportunities so that employee turnover can be further suppressed.

Abstract

An organization should change to face a challenge ahead that cannot be avoided. Challenges faced by an organization or company can come from various aspects. Good teamwork is needed, and competencies are supportive so companies can survive because challenges often create competition between companies. This study aimed to determine and analyze the influence of competencies and workload on employee performance at PT Madusari Mas Surabaya. This research is quantitative research with a total sample of 150 employees. The measuring instrument used is an interview, observations, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis techniques with the help of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software (SPSS 23). The results of this study explain that competency has a significant positive effect on employee performance, while workload does not. Competence and workload simultaneously affect employee performance. Companies must consider the competencies possessed by employees during the recruitment process. In addition, to improve employee performance, companies must consider the workload of employees.

Abstract

The growth of digital technology in industry 4.0 provides convenience in all aspects of people's lives which causes the emergence of an easy and fast lifestyle. This condition encourages the fulfillment of daily needs through online media often occurs. Purchasing online makes it easier for consumers to make purchases of daily necessities such as food. The presence of hedonic motivation or intention and positive customer emotions can encourage spontaneous purchases. This study examines the effect of promotion on impulsive behavior in Gofood users. Using the SOR (Stimulus – Organisms – Response) model we introduced two intervening variables, positive emotion and hedonic intention, to mediate the relationship between promotion and impulsive behavior. This study uses SEM PLS (Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square) to explain the overall model in our study. A total of 325 respondents were collected in the Greater Jakarta area. Our research shows that promotion without positive emotions and hedonic intentions as a mediator will not affect the occurrence of impulsive behavior in Gofood users.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of job stress in mediating the effect of work-life balance and competence on the performance of Dispersip Gianyar employees. The research location is in Dispersip of Gianyar Regency with 59 employees, but the sample used is only 54 people due to incomplete answers. Data was collected using a survey approach, and the instrument of this research was a questionnaire which was measured using a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using PLS-based SEM, namely Smart Pls 3. The result of this research shows that work-life balance and competence had a positive and significant effect on performance but had a negative and significant effect on job stress, while job stress had a negative and significant effect on performance. Job stress partially mediates the relationship between work-life balance and competence on performance. The implications of this research theoretically support the findings of previous studies as well as studies related to attribution theory. The practical implication for the Dispersip of Gianyar Regency is to be able to maintain performance by supporting work-life balance, providing training to increase competence, and trying to reduce work pressure on employees. For further researchers, they can conduct research by considering demographics as a variable that affects performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of company growth, activity ratio, profitability ratio, and dividend policy on the stock price of manufacturing companies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2014-2018. Independent variables used in the study are company growth, Total Asset Turnover (TATO), Return on Assets (ROA), and Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), while the dependent variable is the stock price. Sampling techniques were selected by purposive sampling of 176 manufacturing companies, and 53 companies were chosen as a sample. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The result showed that simultaneous company growth, TATO, ROA, and DPR affect the stock price. TATO and ROA have a significant effect on the stock price. In contrast, the company growth and DPR has no significant impact on the stock price. Investors who want to invest in shares must also pay attention to the level of ROA, as this study states that ROA has the most significant influence on stock prices.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) face various challenges from rapidly changing changes. One of the challenges in maintaining and building MSME performance is being able to go through environmental dynamism and environmental uncertainty. This study aims to examine and analyze the relationship between environmental dynamism and environmental uncertainty on the performance of SMEs. Environmental dynamism is measured using customer, competitor, government, and environmental dimensions. Environmental uncertainty includes technological developments, consumer preferences, competitor behavior, disloyal customers, unreliable suppliers, and financial shortages, and MSME performance indicators consist of sales growth, product quality, and product development. Data analysis techniques using PLS-SEM analysis. The selected sample in this study consisted of 100 owners or managers of MSMEs in Mojokerto, Indonesia. The results showed that environmental dynamism and environmental uncertainty had a significant positive effect on the performance of MSMEs. The implication of this research is that environmental uncertainty is not an obstacle to improving MSME performance. Good adaptability is the key for MSMEs to be able to survive in difficult condition.
