Abstract

Several provinces in Indonesia have regional dormitories in Yogyakarta. This allows each student from various regions to have awareness of their respective ethnic identities, even though this has the potential to create horizontal conflicts. This study aims to describe how Aceh dormitory students in the city of Yogyakarta interpret ethnic identity and how intercultural communication relationships with other ethnicities and the surrounding community and how their views are related to the disintegration of the nation. This research is qualitative research using data collection techniques through interviews. The results showed that Acehnese students were aware of the ethnic identity that was the basis of the hostel and they saw that ethnic identity was important. Aceh dormitory students also introduce culture in cultural events, through which intercultural communication with other ethnicities and the surrounding community can be established. They think that as sons and daughters of the region, they should be proud of their respective ethnicities, but still have to uphold an attitude of inter-ethnic tolerance, so that this awareness does not cause the nation's disintegration.

Abstract

The constitutional design of the institution of the Constitutional Court (MK), as the guardian and the sole interpreter of the Constitution, is to ensure and guarantee the supremacy of the Constitution, constitutional compliance, and to bestow constitutional justice for citizens in the practice of Indonesian administration. However, the reality of the Indonesian state administration shows that there is still disobedience or neglect of the judicial review decision produced by the Constitutional Court. This paper aims to analyze how the Constitutional Court's decision is executed and offer the alternatives to overcome non-compliance with the decision or ensure follow-up on the Constitutional Court's decision in the judicial reviews. This research is normative legal research using a statutory approach, comparison, and conceptual approach. This study's results indicate a constitutional evil in the form of neglect or disobedience to the decision. In that context, institutional improvements that can be adopted are needed to strengthen collective adherence to the supremacy of the Constitution. The three alternatives offered by this article are the amendment of the Constitution, the granting of flexibility to the PUU of the Constitutional Court, and the establishment of a Special Directorate at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0, which makes the internet its backbone, has accelerated the process due to the Covid-19 pandemic which forced citizens to shift all their activities to the digital world, including the involvement of citizens in responding to public discourse. Citizens' public discourses that previously took place in real public spaces have now shifted to digital spaces, one of which is social media. To bridge these changes, a conceptualization of civic engagement is needed through a digital platform. The online citizen involvement was later referred to as online civic engagement, namely civic engagement activities specifically carried out by digital citizens involving several types of digital media, one of which is social media. This literature study provides a clearer picture of the forms of community interaction through social media that go beyond what is known as "slacktivism". When many democracies are faced with the problem of decreasing citizen participation in politics, social media comes with a new form of civic interaction with what is meant by online civic engagement.
