Stress is a person's reaction, both physically and emotionally, that happens when there are changes in the environment that needed adjustment from that person. All ages, including the elderly, can suffer from stress. Several methods can be used to reduce stress, one of which is using a sauna. This study aims to assess the relationship between the use of traditional Finnish saunas and stress levels in pre-elderly and elderly. This study used an observational analytic method using a cross-sectional design study. The number of subjects required in this study is 87 respondents. Sampling was taken by consecutive non-random sampling, and data were collected using questionnaire regarding characteristics of the respondents in the use of saunas and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) to measure the stress level. Bivariate analysis in this study is done using SPSS program with a significance level of p<0.05. Based on the results of the chi-square test it can be concluded that there was a statistically significant relationship between type of sauna and stress levels (p = 0.016), there was a statistically significant relationship between duration of sauna and stress level (p=0.01), and there was a statistically significant relationship between frequency of sauna usage and stress level (p = 0.015). Conclusion: There was a statistically significant relationship between the type of sauna, duration of sauna, and the frequency of sauna usage with stress levels in pre-elderly and elderly

Background. Low Back Pain (LBP) is a syndrome that occurs in the waist precisely in the lumbosacral region of the spine and belongs to the group of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. It is estimated that around 43% of the entire Indonesian population experiences LBP. Whole Body Vibration (WBV) is a mechanical vibration produced by a vibrating field such as when a person drives. These vibrations can be transmitted throughout the body and become one of the risk factors for LBP disability, in addition to length of driving, age and Body Mass Index. The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between WBV and NBP in online motorcycle taxi drivers. Method. This study used a cross-sectional design on 101 online motorcycle taxi drivers in the West Jakarta area. LBP disability data was obtained through filling out the Oswestry Dissability Index (ODI) questionnaire and measuring WBV was carried out with a vibration meter. The analysis was performed with a Chi-square test using SPSS version 27. Result. The age range of respondents is between 20-60 years with the largest population in the age range of 31-40 years (38.6%). Most respondents felt WBV in the extreme uncomfortable category (56.4%) and 72.28% of respondents experienced back pain disability in the severe to very severe category. Analysis of the relationship between WBV and LBP disability was obtained p = 0.001. Conclusion. There is a significant relationship between WBV and LBP disability. The greater exposed to WBV, people have the higher risk of developing LBP disability.

Introduction: The potential impact on lung function due to high exposure to ambient microparticles in cities such as Jakarta has not been comprehensively studied. The background of this research is based on the lack of studies regarding the impact of high micro-particle exposure in major cities like Jakarta on lung function. Research Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the dominant levels of ambient micro-particle concentration in urban areas of Jakarta and changes in spirometry indices among its residents. Method: A cross-sectional approach was used to determine the relationship between ambient micro-particle concentration and irregularities in spirometry indices among the urban population of Jakarta. This study involved 187 adults, aged between 20 to 65 years, mostly from the busy urban sectors of Jakarta. Statistical techniques of association and logistic regression were used for the assessment of the collected data. Results: The average exposure to ambient micro-particles was 315 µg/m³. Aberrations in spirometry indices were detected in 41.2% of participants. A significant relationship was found between high micro-particle concentrations and anomalies in spirometry readings among urban residents of Jakarta. This correlation remained significant after considering confounding factors such as gender, duration of exposure, local ventilation quality, smoking habits, and prevailing humidity. Conclusion: The results of this analysis suggest that the dominant levels of ambient micro-particles in the urban areas of Jakarta may play an important role in causing variations in spirometry results among its inhabitants..

Nasal irrigation or douche with isotonic saline solution may be in rising due to COVID-19. But there has been a debate over its efficacy as a preventive measure for acute rhinosinusitis and other forms of acute upper respiratory infections. More randomized clinical trials and other literature have shown improvements in managing allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, and post-surgery patients. But few have demonstrated the significancy of saline nasal irrigation in otherwise. The European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps/EPOS 2020 has stated very few data was available to enable them to draw conclusion regarding nasal saline irrigation as adjunct treatment in acute rhinosinusitis. As we were in the endemic state of COVID 19, publication has risen to discuss the benefit of saline nasal douche. Literature search was conducted in PubMed and Elsevier databases. Inclusion criteria are recent publications (5 – 10 years), written in English, using Boolean method. Searching for keywords such as “nasal irrigation”, “nasal douche”, “nasal lavage”, “saline”, “acute rhinosinusitis”, and “common cold”. This review aims to discuss the latest data to answer whether isotonic saline nasal irrigation gives benefit as to prevent acute upper respiratory infections. All in all, this review recommends isotonic saline nasal douche safe to perform and may reduce prevalence and nasal symptoms in acute upper respiratory inflammation/ infection.

Indonesia achieved polio eradication along with several other members of the Southeast Asia Regional Organization (SEARO) in 2014 because it succeeded in overcoming the disease caused by the wild polio virus. Unfortunately since then Indonesia has experienced several reported outbreaks. This literature review aims to analyze the factors causing the re-emergence of poliomyelitis in Indonesia after being declared polio-free in 2014 and effective steps to stop outbreaks and prevent the re-emergence of poliomyelitis. Awareness of health workers and the public regarding polio must be increased so that Indonesia and the world can soon be polio-free. The last two outbreaks occurred in Indonesia in 2022 and 2023. The first outbreak in 2022 was in Pidie Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. In response to the poliomyelitis outbreak, the government immediately launched a simultaneous vaccination program. Since then no cases of poliomyelitis have been found until another case was found in December 2023 in Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. Once again, to respond to the poliomyelitis outbreak, the government held a simultaneous vaccination program in three districts, namely Pamekasan and Sampang, East Java and Klaten, Central Java. Followed after that by all regions in Central Java and East Java. It is expected that this quick response from the government can stop the outbreak again. The target of SubPIN (National Immunization Subweek) is to break the chain of transmission, so it must ensure that Outbreaks Response Immunization (ORI) coverage is high at least 95% and evenly distributed throughout the region. Apart from that, information to the public regarding the dangers of disease and the importance of complete vaccination to prevent disease must continue to be provided.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a highly infectious diseases that can be fatal, similar to COVID-19. Transmission occurs through droplets containing acid-resistant bacteria. TB treatment requires a considerable amount of time. The presence of someone who can monitor and ensure that the patient takes the medication regularly is important. The supervisor responsible for this is also known as the Treatrment Observer (TO), who can be a healthcare worker or a family member. In addition to the TO presence, improving nutritional conditions is also necessary to enhance treatment success rates. Several studies on the relationship between TO and nutritional status with the treatment success rates have produced conflicting results. The objective of this research is to assess the role of TO and nutritional status in treatment success rates. The research method was observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach involving 68 subjects. Data utilized include both primary and secondary sources, with a validated questionnaire used to assess the MAS's role, and nutritional status evaluated by measuring the body mass index. Data analysis employs the Chi-square test with significance set at <0.05.The prevalence of supportive MAS is 77.9%, and the normal nutritional status category is 48.5%. The success rate of TB treatment is 60.3%, with 69.8% of them being supported by the presence of MAS. There is a significant relationship between MAS (p=0.006) and nutritional status (p=0.006) with the success of TB treatment.

World Health Organization reported that there were more than 700,000 deaths due to suicide each year. Suicide incidents were like stones thrown into calm lakes, causing widespread ripples. Levi-Belz, in his study, stated that each suicide case affected an average of five family members and up to 135 individuals, including partners, colleagues, and the community. Suicide loss survivors were at a higher risk of experiencing complicated grief, depression, and suicide compared to the bereaved due to causes. Stigmatisation of suicide behavior and suicide loss survivors made them reluctant to disclose themselves, leading to less access to the help they needed. This case report described a 51-year-old woman experiencing grief reactions due to her daughter's suicide. She exhibited denial, anger, guilt, and self-blame. Her decision not to disclose her condition to family and relatives forced her to face emotional and mental turmoils on her own. This patient is still in the acute phase of grief reactions and is receiving psychological intervention in an individual setting. The assessment of suicide risk and ongoing observation of persistent psychological symptoms should be conducted periodically.

Before the administration of vaccine, the impact of COVID-19 infection on the lungs was significant, affecting the prognosis and quality of life of patients. Identifying the severity of lung damage requires markers to identify the patient's condition early on, preventing further damage and abnormalities that may arise, especially in the lungs. The aim of this study is to reduce the occurrence of post-COVID-19 lung fibrosis by assessing the relationship between leukocyte and total lymphocyte levels and lung abnormalities in COVID-19 patients. The research method used is observational analytics with a cross-sectional design. The data used are secondary data, consisting of medical records of 112 COVID-19 patients as research subjects. The variables studied are leukocyte and total lymphocyte levels according to laboratory result, and documented lung abnormalities in medical records. The data is then analyzed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of p<0.05. Lung abnormalities, particularly pneumonia, are dominated by increased leukocyte levels in 62 individuals (91.2%) and decreased total lymphocyte levels in 63 individuals (94.1%). There is a significant association between leukocyte levels with lung abnormalities (p = 0.021), and total lymphocytes with lung abnormalities (p = 0.001).

Hypokalemic periodic paralysis is one form of rare periodic paralysis that can result in sudden weakness. Comprehensive examination is required to determine the management in such cases. This case report discusses a 26-year-old woman who presented to the hospital with a sudden complaint of weakness in all limbs and no neurological deficits. The patient had a history of being admitted three times in the past year with the same complaint. Laboratory results revealed significantly low potassium levels. Although rare, periodic paralysis must be promptly distinguished from other causes of weakness and paralysis. Immediate and appropriate actions are crucial. After rapid administration of potassium through a central vein, the limb weakness disappeared. The patient had a history of three admissions with severe hypokalemia. Abdominal ultrasound revealed mild right hydronephrosis. In this case, the patient fully recovered after receiving both oral and intravenous potassium supplementation with strict ECG monitoring in the ICU. The patient returned to the ward after 2 days in the ICU and was subsequently referred to a nephrology specialist for the management of the observed hydronephrosis. This is important to identify the underlying cause of recurrent hypokalemic paralysis
