Abstract

Al-Qur'an stands as the guiding text for Muslims. The controversy was inseparable from the process of compiling the Qur'an. Most Muslims utilize an Ottoman-style Al-Qur'an manuscript. This study investigates and analyzes the history, method, codification, and rejection of Mushaf Ustmani Manuscripts. Qualitative research with library approaches. The data was compiled from 50 academic publications and sources. The study’s results illustrate the process of codifying the Qur'an and the composition of the Ottoman mushaf during the Caliphate of Ustman bin Afan. One of the objections the Prophet Ibn Mas'ud's companions raised was the composition and generalization of the Qur'an. Some assert that Ibn Mas'ud's rejection was nothing more than orientalist design. The arrangement of the Qur'an's verses distinguishes the Ottoman Mushaf from that of Ibn Masud as the defining trait of the two versions. The Ulama agree, however, that the order of the characters in the Qur'an is not obligatory.

Abstract

The Qur'an serves as a guide for the lives of Muslim believers. The process of compiling the Qur'an has not been without controversy. The majority of Muslims use the Uthmani script for the Qur'an. This research aims to examine and analyze the history, process, codification, and rejection of the Uthmani script. The research is qualitative in nature and utilizes literature review as the methodology. Data was collected from 50 sources including research journals and primary books. The results of the study indicate the process of codifying the Qur'an and the writing of the Uthmani script during the caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan. One of the objections raised by the companion of the Prophet, Ibn Mas'ud, pertains to the writing and generalization of the Qur'an. Some arguments suggest that Ibn Mas'ud's objection was merely a fabrication by orientalists. The characteristic difference between the Uthmani script and Ibn Mas'ud lies in the arrangement of the verses in the Qur'an. However, scholars unanimously agree that the arrangement of the chapters in the Qur'an is not obligatory.

Abstract

This paper aimed to assess the learners’ reflection during the conduct of the limited face-to-face class as part of the transitioning into the new normal. The thirty (30) Grade 7 learners of Dr. Juan A. Pastor Integrated National High School, Ibaan, Batangas who are among the participants during the limited face-to-face class are the main respondents of this study and are believed to be the most reliable respondents in this action research. After gathering sufficient data, the researchers conducted formal and informal interviews using semi-structured questionnaires. They also conducted small group discussions to confirm the material gathered, which were presented in themes using an online application. It was revealed that were excited and at the same time nervous during their first week of class. The learners felt happy and enjoyed going to school although having difficulties in math and reading. Furthermore, the learners preferred to have a face-to-face class instead of modular distance learning since they learn a lot. It was also suggested by the learners to have additional activities in reading and mathematics for them to acquire the necessary skills. The proposed plan of action is a great way to make it easier for learners to acquire the additional needed learning competencies and skills.

Abstract

Ineffective writing has come from the insufficient learning of words and their meaning. This problem has made students more vulnerable by preventing them from performing constructively through spoken or written endeavors. It makes them unfree to tell their own story of imaginative craft, thus holding back ideas that slow their passion for trying things liberally. Words really are, and they have the discrete power to make things less valuable and make some pieces endearing to one’s ears. This problem has caused concern among the researchers; the observation was visibly intact over the students' daily course of action in class. The majority of the written works are uttered from words briefly comprehended, or if not, words taken from the first search on the internet—precisely used to meet up with the maximum of the outdated tasks. The researchers have gathered surveys and interviews from both senior high school students and teachers. The survey is done through a Google Form, which leads to the two sections of the questionnaires. On the other hand, teachers' interviews were done through recorded questioning and the transfer of answers from the question handouts. The researchers want to know what factors are interfering with effective writing. Furthermore, researchers wanted to find out the severity of the given factors, which can precede alternative routes towards expanding horizons in written works. According to the researchers' analysis of the data, senior high school students at Holy Rosary College Foundation reported experiencing "occasionally" about half of the aforementioned issues. As a result, children frequently learn insufficiently, which hinders the development of a deeper understanding of spoken and written language. The adjustments for a better vocabulary result in learning that is progressing. Opportunities are created for learning as well as for interacting with peers and supporting one another's future achievements. Participating in all elements of schooling will foster a balanced perspective on learning and teach students about the complexity of language.
Al-Ghazālī's critical arguments against Ibn Sīnā and Al-Fārābī In the incoherence of the philosophers: Is God bound by human logic? Fadhlur Rahman; Umar Latif

Abstract

This paper examines the philosophical and theological arguments advanced by Abū Ḥāmid Muḥammad al-Ghazālī (c. 1058–1111 CE) in his seminal work Tahāfut al-Falāsifa/ “The Incoherence of the Philosophers” (English Version) c. 1095, one of the most substantial texts in the history of Islamic intellectual thought. The study focuses on al-Ghazālī's systematic critique of the Hellenistic-Islamic philosophical synthesis represented by Abū Naṣr al-Fārābī (d. 950) and Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna, d. 1037), whose Neoplatonic-Aristotelian framework had come to dominate elite Muslim intellectual circles at that time. The paper, thus, analyzes seven principal arguments—concerning the eternity of the world, divine knowledge of particulars, bodily resurrection, emanation, necessary causation, divine agency, and the philosophers' claims to demonstrative certainty to reconstruct the logic and theological motivations behind al-Ghazālī's polemic. This paper argues that al-Ghazālī's project is best understood not as an anti-rational rejection of philosophy, but as a principled défense of divine freedom (free will), and personal agency against a Greek-derived necessitarian metaphysics that, in his view, reduced God to a passive metaphysical principle. The study further explores how significance of al-Ghazālī's critique continue to challenge modern thinkers, not only how to define divine action and human knowledge, especially the perennial dialogue between faith and reasoning.

Abstract

This article offers a fresh reconstruction of the theory of knowledge embedded within Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī’s prose collection Fihi Ma Fihi or "It Is What It Is" (in English), focusing specifically on how the text treats language, meaning, and truth. Popular and academic attention to Rūmī has concentrated overwhelmingly on his poetic achievement and his standing as a towering figure of Sufi devotion, however, this paper argues that his recorded discourses contain a coherent, if never formally systematized. An objection to what may be called linguistic representationalism: the widely held philosophical assumption that language is capable of mirroring reality accurately. The study examines passages from Fihi Ma Fihi in which Rūmī by using a hermeneutic method of close reading, takes up questions about the nature of words, the boundaries of meaning, and the preconditions for spiritual insight. The analysis shows that Rūmī treats language consistently as a symbolic device rather than as a direct canal to truth: words operate as signs that point the seeker toward reality while remaining structurally unable to deliver the immediacy of lived, embodied, and spiritual experience. Rūmī views truth is not something linguistic representation can exhaust; rather, it is realized through existential engagement and direct experiential knowing (inner knowledge), which the Islamic mystical tradition terms ma’rifah. The article contends that Rūmī’s view foreshadowed modern Western philosophy of language, linking his thought within ongoing discourses on religious epistemology and the philosophy of mysticism.
