Abstract

Keberagaman suku, adat, ras, dan agama di Indonesia merupakan bukti dari kekayaan nilai-nilai multikultural di Indonesia dalam semboyan Bhineka Tunggal Ika. Unsur multikultural tersebut tidak sedikit yang tercermin dalam buku Teks Bahasa Indonesia pada jenjang SMP. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keberagaman unsur multikultural yang ada di buku Teks Bahasa Indonesia siswa SMP. Dengan menggunakan desain kualitatif dan teori analisis wacana kritis, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur-usnur multikultural yang terdapat pada buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP dalam bingkai semboyan Bhineka Tunggal Ika. Teknik pengumpulan data dan metode yang digunakan adalah metode simak dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif. Buku Teks Bahasa Indonesia kelas VII, VII, dan IX adalah sumber data penelitian ini. Buku Teks yang dipilih merupakan buku teks terbitan Kementrian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Tekonologi yang digunakan pada kurikulum 2013 revisi 2015-2018. Data yang diambil dari sumber data berupa penggunaan kata, teks, dan gambar/ilustrasi yang mengandung unsur multikultural. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat 21 data yang mengandung unsur multikultural meliputi nilai menghormati budaya, suku, dan agama yang berbeda, menghormati budaya masyarakat adat, menghindari konflik dan mengutamakan perdamaian, serta apresiasi produk budaya kreatif.

Abstract

This study examines the experiences and perceptions of 28 BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers) learners during the Summer Course at Untidar, emphasizing using Wordwall media in teaching. The materials taught focused on local Indonesian food, surrounding places, and local culture. Using qualitative research methods, data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to determine student responses and engagement. The results showed that using Wordwall as an interactive learning media created a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. Students felt happier, more comfortable, and more active during learning. This study highlights the importance of media in increasing student engagement and cultural understanding in the BIPA program and how technology can make language learning more dynamic and enjoyable.

Abstract

Penelitian ini melakukan analisis mendalam terhadap penggunaan preposisi dalam kalimat kompleks pada cerpen "Perihal Orang Miskin yang Bahagia" karya Agus Noor dengan tujuan untuk mengungkap potensi cerpen tersebut sebagai bahan ajar teks anekdot dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di tingkat SMK. Melalui pendekatan linguistik, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis preposisi yang dominan, pola-pola penggunaan preposisi dalam membentuk relasi antar klausa, serta fungsi semantik preposisi dalam membangun makna teks. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa cerpen ini kaya akan variasi penggunaan preposisi yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penghubung antar kata, tetapi juga berperan penting dalam membangun struktur kalimat kompleks yang beragam dan ekspresif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa cerpen tersebut dapat menjadi sumber belajar yang kaya bagi siswa dalam memahami konsep-konsep gramatikal yang kompleks, sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menganalisis dan menafsirkan teks sastra.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the form of hyperbole in Polanco S Achri's poems. which are included in Suara Merdeka, Sunday edition, February 18, 2024. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative using a stylistic approach. The data collection technique in this study uses the Library Technique, this technique is a technique by understanding the contents of Polanco S Achri's poems, namely recording various words, phrases, and sentences that contain figures of speech into written form then reading the poem carefully and selecting relevant parts of the poem to be used as data then the data is studied. The source of research data comes from a collection of poems by Polanco S Achri which are included in Suara Merdeka, Sunday edition, February 18, 2024. The results of this study show that every poem by Polanco S Achri contains hyperbole.

Abstract

In learning Indonesian Language and Literature, there are many teaching methods, one of which is by using popular song teaching materials that are favored by students. Song lyrics are considered as part of the technique in learning and have long been applied in the world of education. A song has complete content with a combination of words, grammar, and other language skills. In song lyrics, there is often the use of majas to make the song more interesting and beautiful, one way is to express feelings implicitly. The use of these songs was chosen because of the enthusiasm of the listeners who are teenagers who are high school age. The purpose of this research is to analyze the lyrics of Indonesian songs that contain majas, then associated with learning materials at school. The research method used is qualitative research method and descriptive in nature. The focus of this research is to examine the repetition and rhyme forms in song lyrics. Data collection techniques that will be used are notes from the results of song lyrics and documentation of song lyrics analyzed. Researchers use qualitative research with content analysis because content analysis is used to examine text, images or symbols, and documents. In the process of data analysis, the knife used is the study of stylistics. The results of the research are expected to help teachers and students in learning and using majas for beauty and depth of meaning in poetry.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is a discourse for academics and practitioners in various fields of life in Indonesia today. Multicultural is a discourse in the field of culture in a broad sense, such as developing the identity of a community group, likewise in developing a nation-state, a sense of identity of that national group is needed. A multicultural approach in language teaching aims to create an inclusive learning environment by respecting students' cultural diversity. This article explores the importance of integrating multicultural aspects in the language learning curriculum, which includes cultural understanding, tolerance, and respect for differences. A multicultural approach must instill life values that reflect the character and national identity of the Indonesian nation. There are four main characteristics of the nation that must be reflected by Indonesian society, namely religious humans, humans as individuals, social humans, and humans as citizens of the nation. By adopting this approach, it is hoped that students can develop language skills effectively while increasing intercultural awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inculcation of multicultural values in English textbooks at the junior high school level in Indonesia. In an increasingly diverse educational context, it is important for curriculum and learning materials to integrate multicultural values in order to form students who have awareness and tolerance of cultural differences. Through a qualitative approach, this study examines English textbooks used in several junior high schools, focusing on representations of cultural diversity, tolerance, inclusivity and equality. The content, images and narratives presented in the textbooks were analyzed. The results showed that despite efforts to integrate multicultural values, there was still a lack of in-depth presentation of local and global cultural diversity. This study recommends revising the learning materials to better reflect the multicultural reality in Indonesia and the world, as well as proposing more effective teaching strategies in instilling multicultural values to students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of conjunctions and modality in editorials of Kedaulatan Rakyat (KR) newspaper and its relevance in learning editorial texts in high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data in this study are three titles of editorial text from the second week of November edition in Kedaulatan Rakyat newspaper. The results show that the use of conjunctions in editorials is dominated by coordinative and subordinative conjunctions to explain the logical relationship between arguments. The modalities that often appear are epistemic modalities that show the level of belief, as well intensional modalities that express expectations and as well as deontic modalities that express imperatives. These findings are relevant for learning editorial texts in high school, especially in improving students' ability to analyze argument structure and persuasive language.

Abstract

The essence of education as a means to understand and appreciate cultural diversity in human nature. In the era of globalization, education not only functions as a transfer of knowledge, but also as a forum for building student character. By leveraging AI, literary language teaching can become more inclusive, allowing students to explore multiple cultural perspectives. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design which aims to explore the experiences and perspectives of teachers and students in teaching language and literature. This method was chosen to explore the phenomenon of applying AI in teaching literary language at SMP Negeri 9 Muaro Jambi. The research results show that the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching literary language at SMP Negeri 9 Muaro Jambi has a positive impact on students' multicultural understanding. Overall, this research confirms that the integration of AI in literary language teaching not only increases learning effectiveness, but also strengthens the existence of education that respects multiculturalism, in accordance with human nature as social creatures
