Abstract

Increasing competition in the traditional food industry requires local entrepreneurs to innovate to remain competitive and sustainable. One of Madiun’s traditional culinary products facing such challenges is brem, particularly that produced in Kampung Brem Kaliabu. Changes in consumer preferences, especially among younger generations, have highlighted the importance of innovation not only in product taste but also in product visuals. This study aims to analyze the implementation of flavor variants and product visual innovations to increase Brem sales, identify the challenges producers face, and examine the impact of these innovations on product attractiveness and sales performance. This research employed a qualitative, descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving ten brem producers in Kampung Brem Kaliabu, Mejayan District, Madiun Regency. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that innovations in flavor variants, such as the introduction of fruit and chocolate flavors, and improvements in product visuals through modern, informative packaging significantly increase product value, consumer interest, and sales volume. However, producers continue to face challenges, including limited capital, insufficient knowledge of product innovation, low utilization of digital marketing, and restricted access to packaging Design resources. In conclusion, flavor variants and visual innovations are proven effective strategies for increasing Brem sales and require continuous support from the government and related institutions to strengthen the competitiveness of local products.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of sanitation and hygiene in improving the economic welfare of dairy farmers in Pulung District. The economic welfare of farmers is greatly influenced by the quality and quantity of milk produced, which is determined by the application of sanitation and hygiene in the livestock environment. Sanitation includes efforts to maintain pen cleanliness, ensure clean water availability, and ensure good waste management. In contrast, hygiene includes the cleanliness of cows, milking equipment, and the milking process. The research method used was direct observation and interviews with farmers to understand the real conditions in the field. The study found that most farmers in Pulung District still did not implement sanitation and hygiene practices optimally. This can be seen from the fact that pens were still not clean, the milking equipment was not properly sterilized, and milking processes did not meet hygiene standards. The main inhibiting factors were farmers' lack of knowledge and awareness of the importance of sanitation and hygiene, as well as limited supporting facilities. On the other hand, the application of good sanitation and hygiene practices has been proven to improve the quality and quantity of milk, thereby positively impacting the income and economic welfare of farmers. This study recommends ongoing education and assistance for farmers to ensure sanitation and hygiene standards are consistently applied, thereby increasing the productivity and welfare of dairy farmers in Pulung District.

Abstract

This study is a field research using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research data consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data were collected through observation and interviews with the mosque administrators (takmir), the imam, and members of the congregation. Meanwhile, secondary data were obtained from literature reviews and supporting documents, including waqf management financial reports. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Budiani’s effectiveness theory and the perspective of Law Number 41 of 2004 concerning Waqf. The results of the research indicate that productive waqf management is implemented simply, based on the principle of mutual trust. The utilization of waqf has been in accordance with statutory regulations. However, based on Budiani’s effectiveness theory, its management has not been optimal because supervision is not conducted regularly. The main obstacles include difficulties with irrigation during the dry season, plant disease outbreaks, the risk of crop failure, limited equipment, labor shortages, and limited access to fertilizers and plant medicines. Supporting factors include the ease of accessing cash fund loans, community support, a strategic location, and the provision of superior seeds by the management. Overall, productive waqf management has been proven to have a positive impact on improving the economic condition of the congregation and achieving mosque economic independence.

Abstract

Productive zakat is a community empowerment strategy oriented toward improving the economic independence of mustahik. However, the success of the program is strongly influenced by the accuracy of selecting empowerment assets that are appropriate to the social conditions, environment, and capacities of the beneficiaries. This community service activity aimed to describe the mentoring process in selecting productive zakat assets based on local potential in Sooko Village, Sooko District, Ponorogo Regency. This activity used a descriptive qualitative approach through field observation, semi-structured interviews, and discussions with academics, community leaders, volunteers, zakat institutions, and prospective beneficiaries. The results showed that four main aspects formed the basis for asset selection: empowerment objectives, community social conditions, natural conditions, and asset characteristics. Based on these considerations, stingless bee cultivation (Trigona sp.) was selected as a productive zakat asset because it is safe, easy to maintain, does not require large areas of land, is suitable for the natural environment of Sooko Village, and has sustainable economic value. This activity concludes that the selection of productive zakat assets should be conducted in a participatory and contextual manner so that empowerment programs can be accepted by the community, do not burden beneficiaries, and have the potential to improve long-term economic independence.

This strategy is reflected in flavor innovation, varied pricing, a strategic location, online and offline promotion, friendly service, standardized production processes, and neat store displays and packaging. However, several obstacles remain, particularly in price perception and inconsistent digital promotion. The implementation of the 7P marketing mix has had a positive impact on increasing sales and expanding market reach. This study concludes that the 7P marketing mix is fairly effective in supporting MSME competitiveness, but further strengthening is needed in digital branding and price positioning.

Abstract

Cash flow management is an important aspect of maintaining financial stability and operational continuity in garment-based MSMEs. GM Konveksi Jenangan faces several problems, including delayed customer payments, a 50% down payment system, limited screen-printing equipment, and unstructured financial recording. This study aims to analyze cash flow management, identify obstacles in cash turnover, and formulate improvement strategies to enhance business financial performance. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through field observation, in-depth interviews, and business transaction documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that GM Konveksi’s cash flow remains unstable because most transactions are still paid only through down payments, while expenses for raw materials, electricity, screen-printing ink, and labor must continue to be paid. Limited production equipment also slows order completion and delays cash inflows. The strategies needed include stricter payment policies, mandatory settlement upon order pickup, daily cash recording, separation of personal and business funds, and control of non-urgent expenditures. This study concludes that more disciplined cash flow management can accelerate capital turnover, maintain liquidity, and improve the financial performance of GM Konveksi Jenangan.

Abstract

The development of the digital economy has created platform-based business models that connect service providers and users through digital systems. This model offers easier access, transaction efficiency, and market expansion, but it also raises ethical issues related to data, algorithms, digital labor relations, Islamic fintech, and the potential emergence of digital riba. This article aims to analyze Islamic business ethics in the platform economy, particularly in marketplaces, the sharing economy, Islamic fintech, and issues related to data and algorithms. This study uses a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach by examining relevant literature, Islamic business ethics concepts, and digital economy studies. The discussion shows that the platform economy functions not only as a transaction space but also as a digital power structure that regulates product visibility, commissions, service distribution, rating systems, and user data utilization. From an Islamic perspective, digital business practices must be based on the principles of justice, trustworthiness, transparency, public benefit, and freedom from riba, gharar, and maysir. Marketplaces need to ensure fair opportunities for business actors, the sharing economy must consider the protection of platform workers, and Islamic fintech must maintain contract clarity and ethical substance. This article concludes that the platform economy should be developed through more transparent, fair, and Islamic ethics-based governance to create an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem.
