Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the role of digital onboarding in the growth of third-party funds (TPF) at Bank Syariah Indonesia. Method: this study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data obtained from Bank Syariah Indonesia's annual reports for the period 2022–2024. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to examine the relationship between digital onboarding implementation and TPF's growth. Findings: digital onboarding plays a significant role in supporting TPF's growth at Bank Syariah Indonesia. The implementation of end-to-end digital account opening has contributed to increased mobile banking users, an expanded customer base, and a consistent rise in TPF during the 2022–2024 period. In addition, the bank's market share in the Islamic banking industry has also shown an upward trend, reflecting the effectiveness of digital onboarding as a strategic instrument in strengthening fund mobilization and financial intermediation. Implications: digital onboarding is an effective strategy for strengthening TPF and supporting financial intermediation in Islamic banking through enhanced digital customer acquisition. Originality: lies in its focus on digital onboarding as a specific digital acquisition strategy rather than general digital banking services, and in explaining its role in enhancing TPF within Islamic banking.

Purpose: to analyze the impact of beauty expo participation on the growth of local cosmetic SMEs, focusing on sales growth, brand awareness, and market access expansion. Method: this study employs a quantitative, explanatory research design. Data were collected from 30 local cosmetic SMEs in Medan city who had participated in beauty expos or similar promotional events, using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to examine respondents’ perceptions of the relationship between event participation and SME growth, as measured by sales growth, brand awareness, and market access. Findings: participation in beauty expos has a positive impact on the growth of local cosmetic SMEs in Medan city. These results suggest that beauty expo participation contributes to improved sales performance, increased brand recognition, and expanded business networks among local cosmetic SMEs. Implications: participation in beauty expos is an effective marketing strategy for local cosmetic SMEs to enhance sales performance, strengthen brand awareness, and expand market access. The findings highlight the importance of integrating event marketing into SME growth strategies and provide practical insights for business owners and policymakers to support SME development through promotional events. Originality: examining beauty expo participation as a driver of SME growth (sales, brand awareness, and market access) in local cosmetic SMEs in Medan city, an underexplored context in prior research.

Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the relationship between employment conditions and digital consumption patterns among generation z and millennials in Indonesia. Method: this study employs a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data from Statistics Indonesia and the Populix report. Data are analyzed using descriptive and comparative methods to examine the relationship between employment conditions and digital consumption patterns among generation z and millennials in Indonesia. Findings: employment conditions characterized by unemployment, relatively low wages, and high informal employment do not directly reduce digital consumption among generation z and millennials in Indonesia. Despite economic limitations, both groups remain actively engaged in online shopping, supported by digital payment systems and promotional incentives. However, financial constraints lead to more selective and price-sensitive purchasing behavior in the digital economy. Implications: digital consumption among generation z and millennials is shaped not only by employment conditions but also by technological access and social influences. Originality: lies in integrating employment conditions and digital consumption behavior within a single analytical framework focused on generation z and millennials in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: to develop and evaluate a qr-code based hybrid simulation learning media called PANN (perdagangan arus niaga nusantara “nusantara trade flow”) for teaching inter-island trade in grade VIII social studies. Method: this study used a research and development (R&D) design with the ADDIE model to develop a qr-code based hybrid learning media (PANN). The study involved 24 grade VIII students and two social studies teachers. Data were collected through validation sheets, questionnaires, and observations, then analyzed descriptively to assess the product’s validity and practicality. Findings: the developed PANN learning media was highly valid and highly practical, with an average validity score of 92.18% and a practicality score of 91.58%. The media were effectively integrated into classroom learning, increasing student engagement through an interactive hybrid simulation that combined physical materials and qr-code based digital content. These findings indicate that PANN is feasible as an innovative learning medium for teaching inter-island trade in grade VIII social studies. Implications: qr-code hybrid simulation media is an effective, practical, and contextually relevant alternative for teaching abstract social studies concepts and supporting student-centered learning in limited digital environments. Originality: lies in the development of a hybrid learning media that integrates physical simulation, local economic context, and qr-code-based digital resources into a single interactive learning system for teaching inter-island trade in junior high school social studies.

Abstract

Purpose: to develop, implement, and evaluate a financial dashboard-based learning medium for contextual economics learning in workplace settings, providing an authentic learning environment that supports financial literacy and data-driven decision-making through simulated financial data. Method: this study adopted a research and development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model. A financial dashboard was developed using simulated operational financial data and implemented in a limited workplace learning setting. Data were collected through observations, participants' worksheets, and questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the usability and initial feasibility of the developed learning media. Findings: the developed financial dashboard is feasible for contextual economics learning in workplace settings. The dashboard enabled participants to better understand budgeting, budget variance, cash flow, and operational financial decision-making through simulated financial data. Participants also reported that the visual presentation and guided analysis improved the clarity and relevance of the learning process. Implications: to the advancement of contextual economics learning by demonstrating the potential of financial dashboards as Originality: the originality of this study lies in the development of a financial dashboard as a contextual economics learning medium that integrates financial data visualization, workplace learning, and simulated financial data to enhance financial literacy without compromising organizational data confidentiality.

Abstract

Purpose: to systematically review the existing literature on the QRIS in Indonesia by identifying the determinants of QRIS adoption, examining its impact on cashless transactions, and analyzing its contribution to financial inclusion. Method: this study employed a PRISMA-based systematic literature review (SLR) of 120 articles published between 2022 and 2026. The selected studies were synthesized through descriptive and bibliometric analyses using VOSviewer. Findings: QRIS adoption is influenced by perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust, social influence, and financial literacy. Furthermore, QRIS contributes to increasing cashless transactions, improving transaction efficiency, supporting MSME digitalization, and expanding financial inclusion in Indonesia. Bibliometric analysis shows that QRIS research has evolved from technology acceptance studies to broader discussions of digital transformation and inclusive finance. Implications: by integrating QRIS research findings and offering insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and digital payment providers to increase QRIS adoption, strengthen the cashless ecosystem, and promote financial inclusion in Indonesia. Originality: this study makes a novel contribution by integrating evidence on QRIS adoption, cashless transactions, and financial inclusion into a single PRISMA-based systematic literature review, providing a comprehensive perspective largely absent from previous studies on the Indonesian context.
