Abstract

Sustained inflation will have a negative impact on the economy. Low and stable inflation can be a good stimulator for economic growth. That is why the government needs to control the inflation rate so that it is neither too high nor too low. As a strategic indicator, it is important to study inflation in terms of both calculation and grouping. This study aims to classify inflation cities and see whether there are spatial relationships between inflation cities in Sumatra. The research method used is the K-Means Clustering Algorithm with the number of clusters 3. Using the K-Means Algorithm method, cities with a high inflation rate, medium (average) or low inflation rate can be grouped. The results showed that cluster 1 consisted of 7 districts/cities (ie Meulaboh; Banda Aceh; Sibolga; Padang Sidempuan; Bukittinggi; Pekanbaru; and Tanjung Pandan), cluster 2 contained 5 districts/cities (ie Gunung Sitoli; Padang; Bungo; Jambi; and Pangkal Pinang), and in cluster 3 there are 12 districts/cities. Meanwhile, in terms of the spatial relationship between one regency/city, the regencies/cities that calculate inflation throughout Sumatra have a close relationship with the condition of neighboring regencies/cities. Abstract

The main objective of this study is to measure the persistence of inflation in cities in Sumatra on January 2020 until July 2022. The analysis is carried out to face challenges that have high inflation persistence using AR model. Empirical results show that inflation persistence in Sumatra is high. Cities in Sumatra take an average of 10 months to return to equilibrium after a shock. Cooperation between producing and importing regions is needed for the bad impact of prolonged inflation in Sumatra. Keywords: inflation persistence, AR model, regional analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency is rich in natural resources in the form of oil and gas mining. However, in terms of its utilization, it is felt that it is not fully for the welfare of the community. This can be seen from the poverty percentage of Tanjung Jabung Timur which is in the highest position in Jambi Province. In line with its high poverty rate, the economic growth rate of Tanjung Jabung Timur is in the lowest position among regencies/cities in Jambi Province. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between the growth of the mining sector on poverty and the rate of total economic growth in Tanjung Jabung Timur. With the Pearson correlation methodology, it is concluded that the relationship between the economic growth rate of the mining sector is at a weak level. While the correlation between the rate of the mining sector to the total economic rate has a strong positive value (by 0.770). Keywords: Economy; Mining; Pearson; Poverty

Abstract

ABSTRACT Financial inclusion is the avability of access to financial products and services for individuals that are beneficial and carried out in a responsible and sustainable manner. The opposite of financial inclusion is financial exclusion. According to the World Bank, account ownership is the main indicator of financial inclusion. Although based on the 2021 Global Findex, the level of bank account ownership in Indonesia is already above 50 percent, this figure is still far behind compared to neighboring countries.. In this study, financial exclusion will be approached by having a bank account. Observations used are residents aged at least 17 years. The result of this research is that the proportion of residents who have bank accounts is only 45.1 percent. From the results of the binary logistic regression, the results of education level, place of residence, age, internet access, poverty status, gender, and employment status have a significant effect on resident financial exclusion in Indonesia.

Abstract

Preparation for sudden Regsosek activities, ongoing routine activities, and administrative matters pose many challenges for BPS staff. Increasingly heavy demands can lead to burnout for employees. This work fatigue will cause employees to delay doing their jobs or often known as procrastination. Procrastination is divided into two, namely active and passive. Procrastination behavior is very detrimental in terms of material and immaterial which can ultimately reduce employee performance. This study aims to find out an overview of the research variables, the effect of work fatigue on procrastination, the effect of procrastination on employee performance, and the effect of work fatigue on employee performance. The analytical method used is k-means clustering and structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the majority of employees experienced high levels of work fatigue, high levels of active procrastination, high levels of passive procrastination, and high levels of employee performance. Work-life imbalance has the biggest contribution to explaining work fatigue, intentional decision to procrastinate has the biggest contribution to explain active procrastination, decisional delay has the biggest contribution to explain passive procrastination, and contextual performance has the biggest contribution to explain employee performance. Work fatigue has a positive and significant effect on active and passive procrastination. Active and passive procrastination have a negative and significant effect on employee performance. Work fatigue has an indirect, negative, and significant effect on employee performance.    Keyword: work fatigue, procrastination, performance, k-means clustering, SEM-PLS

Abstract

Labor mobility can enable a person to get out of poverty. This research is focused on knowing the impact of poverty and individual and household characteristics on inter-sector mobility patterns in Jambi Province. By using data from the 2019-2022 Jambi National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) that cover 289 respondents, this study applies multinomial regression models. The results of the analysis show that low-income workers tend to move to the same sector as their origin. In this study, poverty status has a significant negative effect when workers move from the industrial and service sectors to the agricultural sector. This means that the opportunity for poor workers in Jambi Province to move from the industrial sector to agriculture decreased by 7.9% compared to high-income workers. On the other hand, low-income workers can actually move between sectors easily, especially to the agricultural sector of oil palm plantations whose prices have been rising since 2019. The government is expected to optimize the downstream processing of palm oil so that it absorbs more workers who have wages below the line household poverty. Meanwhile, low-income workers in the industrial and service sectors must be provided with capacity building training through the government and the private sector in order to obtain better wage rates.

Abstract

Inflation is one of the macroeconomic indicators that has become the focus of attention of countries in the world. This is because inflation has a large and significant influence on economic conditions. Therefore, it is important to forecast inflation in future periods as a material consideration in determining the policies and economic decisions to be chosen. Indonesia is a multicultural country that has religious holidays, one of which is Idul Fitri. Eid al-Fitr is expected to affect inflation through increased demand for goods and services. This study aims to establish a comparison between two monthly inflation forecasting models in Jambi City and Muara Bungo, namely the ARIMAX model with a numerical response variable and the GLARMAmodel with a categorical response variable. The results obtained are that the ARIMAX model has a better ability to predict monthly inflation in Jambi City, while the GLARMA model has a better ability to predict monthly inflation in Muara Bungo City.

Abstract

Education levels and average wages are two key factors that play a central role in determining the quality of life and economic development of a region. The diverse economic development of the Jambi Province region, which includes agriculture, mining, plantations, industry, and the service sector, a pressing question is to what extent this increase in education levels has been reflected in the average wages of its residents, especially in various key occupations. This study aims to categorize education levels and average wages by employment in Jambi province in 2018. This study aims to categorize education levels and average wages by employment in Jambi province in 2018. The analysis used in this study is Hierarchial clustering analysis Complete Linkage method. The results of the analysis show that each district / city in Jambi province is divided into 3 clusters. The first cluster has an average percentage of -0.467% which means that the first cluster with members of Sungai Penuh City, Batanghari Regency, Muaro Jambi Regency, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Kerinci Regency, Merangin Regency and Tebo Regency is an area with the lowest percentage of education level and average wage. The second cluster has an average percentage of 0.309%, which means that the second cluster with members of Bungo Regency, Sarolangun Regency, and West Tanjung Jabung Regency is an area with a medium percentage of education levels and average wages. The third cluster has an average percentage of 2.165%, which means that the third cluster with members of Jambi City is the region with the highest percentage of education level and average wage.
