Abstract

Time series analysis is used to identify patterns in sequential data over time, utilizing previous observations. Forecasting is the process of predicting or estimating future events based on available data. This study focuses on forecasting life insurance reserves for catastrophic risks using the ARIMA (AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average) method. The data used comes from the Financial Services Authority Banking Statistics, covering the period from August 2017 to December 2023. Catastrophic risk includes losses caused by natural events or accidents that can result in significant harm to a company. The ARIMA method is used to predict future outcomes based on historical data, aiming to provide accurate estimates of the reserves needed. Accurate predictions are crucial in helping companies allocate funds more efficiently and reduce unforeseen financial risks. The steps taken in this study include data collection, model identification, parameter estimation, and model diagnosis to ensure the accuracy of the generated forecasts.

Abstract

his study analyzes the determinants of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in Jambi Province. Independent variables include Open Unemployment Rate (OUR), Minimum Wage (MW), Human Development Index (HDI), and Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR). Data from 11 districts/cities in 2024 were analyzed using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and spatial diagnostics. Results show that Minimum Wage positively and significantly affects GRDP, while HDI has a significant negative effect. OUR and LFPR are not significant. The model explains 69.7% of GRDP variation. Spatial tests (Moran’s I, LM tests) indicate no significant spatial dependence. These findings highlight wage policy importance, while the negative HDI effect suggests mismatch between human capital and production structures.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is the first step to achieving a healthy and prosperous life. However, more than half of newborn babies in the world do not receive breast milk at the start of birth. Likewise, coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia has not yet reached the target. However, exclusive breastfeeding can reduce the risk of disease and death. Unfortunately, there is no information on the low level of exclusive breastfeeding at district/city level. For this reason, complex small area estimation is needed to estimate the parameters of the number of children aged 0–5 months who receive exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia at the district/city level, one of which is using Hierarchical Bayes. The results show that direct estimates for the percentage of children aged 0–5 months who receive exclusive breast milk in Indonesia in 2023 are not of good enough quality, as indicated by the existence of districts/cities with direct estimated RSE values of more than 25 percent. Apart from that, there were 13 districts/cities without samples. The use of the SAE HB-Beta method and synthetic estimator has overcome zero sampling and reduced the RSE value to less than 25 percent.

Abstract

The results of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) stated that 3 of the 5 provinces on the island of Kalimantan, namely North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan, are the main destinations for population migration. Indonesia, as a developing country, is in the process of manufacturing industrialization. In this regard, the manufacturing industry sector of Kalimantan Island has the second highest to its GRDP. Due to this industrialization process, the number of markets and the number of jobs will increase, thus triggering residents from other regions to migrate the area (Moomaw and Shatter, 1991). This migration flows causes the population to be concentrated only in certain areas, so it is necessary to control the distribution of the population. This study aims to analyze the spatial impact of manufacturing industrialization on the percentage of in-migration in districts/cities on Kalimantan Island, using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The results of this study indicate that the GRDP of the manufacturing sector and the average net income has a significant positive effect on all districts/cities on Kalimantan Island, while the number of workers in the manufacturing industry sector has a negative effect on several districts/cities on Kalimantan Island.

Abstract

Music is often perceived solely as art, while mathematics is regarded as a collection of numbers and formulas. In fact, both are closely connected in ways that create harmony. This article discusses the relationship between music and mathematics through rhythm patterns, note frequencies, and chord harmonies. The motivation for choosing this topic is to show that mathematics is not confined to the classroom but exists in everyday life through the music we listen to. The approach applied is a simple literature review regarding number patterns in rhythm, frequency ratios in note intervals, and the concept of Fourier transformation in digital music processing. The results indicate that many aspects of music can be mathematically explained, from basic beats to modern audio processing technology. In conclusion, mathematics provides structure and order in music, while music offers a real-life context that reveals the beauty of mathematics. This understanding is therefore important to enhance appreciation of both fields.

Abstract

Health is a fundamental need and a crucial agenda in both national and global development, as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). Jambi Province still faces challenges related to poverty, with a rate of 7.10 percent in 2024, which impacts access to healthcare services, especially among vulnerable groups. Although the coverage of the National Health Insurance (JKN) continues to expand, there remains a gap in participation among low-income populations. This study utilizes secondary data sourced from the March 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The unit of analysis in this study is the poor population in Jambi Province in 2024. The ownership rate of health insurance in the form of BPJS for the Poor (PBI) among the poor population is 34.79 percent. To identify the variables that influence the ownership of health insurance among the poor in Jambi Province, a binary logistic regression analysis was employed. The results of the study indicate that regional classification, household size, head of household's education level, age, gender, employment sector, employment status, and history of outpatient or inpatient care significantly affect BPJS PBI ownership, both simultaneously and partially.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the multidimensional issues that remains a major focus in economic development in Indonesia. Inflation and economic growth are considered the two main macroeconomic variables that can influence poverty levels. However, the relationship among these three variables is not always consistent and depends on the context of time, region, and implemented policies. This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation and economic growth on poverty levels in Jambi Province in 2022. This study uses a quantitative method with descriptive and verificative approaches, based on time series data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Jambi Province. The analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, Pearson correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the individual characteristics of employed persons associated with their status as non-permanent workers in Jambi Province. The analysis was conducted using data from the August 2025 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) and applied a logistic regression method. The results indicate that male workers, individuals with education levels of primary school or below, junior secondary school, and senior secondary school, as well as those working in the agricultural sector, are more likely to be employed as non-permanent workers. Although non-permanent employment is characterized by the absence of social security and labor protection, this type of employment has become increasingly prevalent alongside global economic development. Therefore, the government is expected to continue promoting the expansion of opportunities and access to higher education so that workers can obtain higher qualifications and stronger bargaining positions. In addition, greater attention should be given to workers in the agricultural sector to ensure access to labor protection and specific social security programs.

Abstract

To provide a more comprehensive understanding of poverty issues, a multidimensional approach is essential, as poverty is inherently a multidimensional problem that cannot be adequately assessed through a single dimension alone. This study aims to present an overview of multidimensional poverty in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency and to analyze the determinants of multidimensional poverty in the region. This study employs binary logistic regression analysis using household-level data obtained from the March 2025 SUSENAS survey. The results indicate that the age of the household head, gender of the household head, marital status of the household head, number of household members, literacy ability of the household head, educational attainment of the household head, employment status of the household head, sector of employment, place of residence, and household expenditure distribution group significantly affect the multidimensional poverty status of households. This study contributes as a complementary analysis to conventional monetary poverty measures by incorporating a non-monetary perspective, thereby providing new insights into the welfare conditions of the population.

Abstract

The observance of Labor Day on May 1 is not merely a formality but a crucial event highlighting the urgency of improving worker welfare amid West Java's dynamic economic conditions. Wage setting remains highly complex due to the diverse economic landscapes and living needs across the region’s regencies. This study analyzes the influence of Per Capita Expenditure, GRDP at Constant Prices (PDRB ADHK), Poverty Rate, and Open Unemployment Rate on Regency/City Minimum Wages (UMK) in West Java. Using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the study employs panel data regression with a Fixed Effects Model (FEM). The results indicate that Per Capita Expenditure, ADHK GRDP, Poverty Rate, and Open Unemployment Rate simultaneously influence UMK after logarithmic transformations were applied to the expenditure and GRDP variables. Partially, all independent variables exhibit a significant and positive effect. These findings demonstrate that such variables serve as crucial instruments for the government in determining UMK levels in West Java to balance economic growth and worker welfare.
