Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of credit distribution and analyzes the differences in credit disbursement mechanisms between conventional banking and Islamic banking at the sub-branch office level. A qualitative research design employing a phenomenological approach was adopted to explore credit distribution practices as implemented and interpreted by banking practitioners. The study was conducted at the Sub-Branch Offices (KCP) of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Sungai Penuh, with key informants consisting of employees from both institutions. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The data analysis process involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation and cross-verification techniques. The findings indicate notable differences in both the mechanisms and effectiveness of credit distribution between BRI and BSI. BRI demonstrates superior performance in terms of accessibility, flexibility of requirements, and speed of credit disbursement, particularly in serving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). In contrast, BSI places greater emphasis on compliance with Islamic principles, clarity of contractual arrangements (akad), and more targeted and sustainable fund utilization. Factors such as service convenience, financing schemes, institutional reputation, and service delivery approaches significantly influence the fulfillment of community financing needs. The effectiveness of credit utilization is reflected in its productive allocation, which contributes to economic circulation, enhances business productivity, and strengthens local economic resilience, while maintaining prudent credit risk management.  Keywords: Bank, Effectiveness, Financing, Phenomenology

Abstract

Indonesia is a significant player in global Islamic finance, yet the growth of its Islamic banking market share still lags behind conventional banking. While Murabahah financing was previously dominant in Indonesian Islamic banking, it has fallen below Musyarakah financing in the last two years, raising questions about its impact on Islamic bank performance. This study examines the relationship between the financial health of Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS), assessed using the CAMEL analysis (Capital, Asset, Management, Earning, Liquidity), and Murabahah Financing in Indonesia, analyzing data from OJK-registered BUS from 2021-2024. The independent variables include Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Nett Performance Financing (NPF), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Return on Asset (ROA), and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), with Murabahah Financing as the dependent variable. Using quantitative regression analysis, the research found that CAR, NPF, BOPO, and ROA significantly influence Murabahah Financing, while FDR does not.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of Return on Equity (ROE), Non-Performing Financing (NPF), and Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO) on the stock price of PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk for the period 2019–2024. Using an associative quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis, the results indicate that, individually, ROE has a significant positive effect, while NPF has a significant negative effect on stock prices. On the other hand, BOPO does not show a significant individual effect. Simultaneously, these three variables explain 57.1% of the variation in stock prices (based on the Adjusted R-Square value). This confirms that investors tend to focus their assessments on profitability and asset quality as the primary determinants of a company’s market value. The implications of this study suggest that bank management needs to improve profitability and maintain the quality of financing to strengthen investor confidence and support the stability of the company’s stock price.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Non-Performing Financing (NPF), Third-Party Funds (DPK), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) on Asset Liquidity Management (ALMA) in Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the period 2020-2024. The main issue addressed in this study is the instability of Islamic banking liquidity, which is influenced by financing risk, fluctuations in public funds, and bank capital adequacy, particularly in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data in the form of financial statements of Islamic Commercial Banks obtained from the Islamic Banking Statistics published by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The sample consists of 10 Islamic Commercial Banks selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression processed using EViews 13 software. The results show that partially, Non-Performing Financing (NPF) has a negative but insignificant effect on ALMA. Meanwhile, Third-Party Funds (DPK) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) have a negative and significant effect on ALMA in Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia during the 2020-2024 period. These findings indicate that although theoretically financing quality, third-party fund mobilization, and capital adequacy influence liquidity management, in practice banks tend to adopt more conservative strategies in maintaining liquidity. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for Islamic bank management and regulatory authorities in strengthening adaptive and sustainable liquidity management strategies.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the shift in customer motives within the Islamic digital banking ecosystem from spirituality-oriented motives toward utilitarian motives. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of scholarly articles, books, and relevant documents concerning Islamic digital banking and Muslim financial behavior. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis supported by the theoretical frameworks of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2), and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The findings reveal that digital transformation has significantly changed customer behavior in Islamic banking. Factors such as ease of use, service efficiency, system security, and digital experience quality have become the primary determinants of Islamic digital banking usage, surpassing religious motivations. Digitalization has also encouraged the homogenization of behavior between Islamic and conventional bank customers, causing religiosity to shift from a primary motive to a symbolic form of legitimacy. The novelty of this study lies in its critical analysis of the transformation of religiosity meanings within modern Muslim financial behavior in the digital era. Therefore, Islamic banking institutions need to integrate technological innovation with the strengthening of substantive maqashid sharia values to maintain their distinctiveness within the digital financial ecosystem. Keywords: Islamic digital banking, customer behavior, behavioral Islamic finance.

Abstract

The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) plays a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through digital payments in Indonesia. Unlike prior empirical studies that were often limited to specific geographic regions, this article synthesizes comprehensive findings regarding QRIS's contribution to MSME growth from a payment digitalization perspective. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical literature review approach based on content analysis of publications from 2020 to 2025, the results indicate that successful QRIS adoption is driven by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. These factors lead to operational efficiency, market expansion, and enhanced financial accounting transparency. However, its impact varies depending on digital literacy, geographic location, and business scale. This study also integrates an Islamic Economics perspective (maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah & ḥifẓ al-māl). The findings are expected to serve as a foundation for policymakers and MSME actors in optimizing QRIS implementation.
