Abstract

Crop waste or cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) processing waste that doesn’t handle with care can polluting the environment around the farm. Rind of cacao can be used for composting, but it can be less effective because the nutrient of fresh cacao rind too complex and the ratio of C/N too high. This research intention to knows the potential of Aspergillus niger to degrade cellulose on waste cacao rind who have high ratio of C/N, with combination inoculum concentration and incubation time. The methods of this research begin with isolation and identification of A. niger from litter of cacao field, then the in vitro test done by CMCA (Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose Agar) selective media, and then the cacao rind was testing by in vivo method. The results of this research shown that A. niger can degrade cellulose by in vitro ways, it can be seen by the clear zone that formed on CMCA selective media. The in vivo test on cacao rind shown decreasing of C/N ratio between 18,940%-40,623%. Combination of A3B3 treatment (15 mL inoculum concentration, 28 days incubation time) indicate the lowest C/N ratio 18,940%.

Abstract

Javan Hawk-Eagle is one of priority species which is natural population need to increase 10 percent, so that BBKSDA East Java chooses the monitoring site to monitor this species dynamic population. The observations which conduct in Gunung Picis and Gunung Sigogor Nature Reserve Areas for seven days in every years on July-August since 2013 until 2018 shows that Javan Hawk-Eagle population in those areas has been increase. The population increase show by juvenile individual and finding the species in new locations.

Abstract

Capung merupakan serangga yang berperan penting dalam keseimbangan ekosistem, berperan sebagai bioindikator dan predator. Sebagian besar fase hidupnya berada di air dalam bentuk larva. Beberapa jenis capung menempati tipe habitat perairan yang spesifik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis capung dan pemanfaatan nimfanya sebagai nilai tambah pendapatan di persawahan Bendungan Latu Abiansemal . Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan cara koleksi langsung menggunakan jaring serangga (insect net) untuk diidentifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah spesies capung yang ditemukan di sekitar Bendungan Latu sebanyak 7 spesies termasuk kedalam 2 famili dengan kemelimpahan relatif Orthetrum Sabina (47%), Pantala flavescens(44%), Neurothermis terminate (4%), Agriocnemis femina (2%), Neurothemis ramburii, Orthetrum chrysis dan Aethriamanta brevipennis masing masing 1%. Pola penyebaran capung 4 spesies mengelompok dan 3 spesies acak. Indeks keanekaragaman capung sangat rendah (H=1,04) dan pemanfaatan nimfa capung oleh petani digunakan sebagai lauk pauk untuk dijual serta penjualan nimfa capung hidup untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan taman capung di Desa Kemenuh Kabupaten Gianyar. Abstract

Plant pests is one of the problem in agriculture sector that can cause decreasing of harvest productivity. Plant pest invasion will be increased in rainy season, so it need to be controlled. Biological control by chitinolytic bacteria is one of many ways to avoid the using of chemical pesticide. The purpose of this research to find the type of chitinolytic bacteria and utilizing the enzyme chitinase as plant pest biocontrol. Test has been done with spray method of 5 mL with 10%, 20%. 30%, 40% and 50% concentration with 7 treatments include positive and negative controls and 3 repetition. Observation of larva death done for 24 hours after spray, where every 6 hours observations are made. Pseudomonas is a genus that has been identified as chitinolytic bacteria. Larva death is indicated by with percentage result insignificant death which is shown at the 10 – 30% concentration. The percentage result significant death which is shown at the 40 – 50% concentration. 40% and 50% is most effective concentration in killing fruit fly (Drosophila sp.).

Abstract

Arenga palm (Arenga pinnata) is one species from palmae family. Economically, the palm is suitable for home industry, such as Balinese offering which use parts of young leaf, sap can be used as special local genius sweet drink from Bali, fruits are boilled that can be mixed with sugar for healthy ice. Arenga palm can be propagated aseptically using tissue culture technique. Culture media may varried between MS and WPM with or without adding hormone. Auxin can be added as 2.4-D ( 4 ppm) to induce callus. NAA and BAP with concentration 1.5 ppm respectively also added to induce multiplication of shoots or roots. Each treatment had 10 replicatations. Six weeks after cultured, callus growth observed only at WPM media that enriched with 2,4-D. The others treatment show the explant was dormant because did not show any growth while analysed anatomically under microscope.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus merupakan gangguan metabolisme yang disebabkan kurangnya hormon insulin dan menyebabkan kelainan metabolisme karbohidrat, protein dan lemak. Diabetes mellitus akan mempengaruhi beberapa kinerja organ dalam tubuh manusia. Salah satunya yaitu berpengaruh terhadap produksi kualitas sperma pada tubulus seminiferus. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas sperma pada pasien penderita diabetes mellitus tipe 1 dan 2 di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Lamadukelleng, Sengkang. Sampel diambil dari 30 laki-laki yang bersedia sebagai probandus sesuai dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan yaitu penderita DM tipe 1 dan 2, berumur 20-45 tahun. Kemudian dimasukkan kelompok kontrol, DM 1 dan DM 2 menggunakan metode Komperatif dengan jumlah probandus masing-masing kelompok sebanyak 10 orang. Metode analisa kualitas sperma yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Andrologi, Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Lamadukelleng, Sengkang adalah makler chamber, kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan analisa kualitas sperma seperti pada umumnya. Data yang didapat dari hasil penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif meliputi morfologi, disajikan dalam bentuk gambar. Kemudian data kuantitatif meliputi, penghitungan konsentrasi, motilitas dan morfologi disajikan dalam bentuk tabulasi data. Setelah itu data kuantitatif dibaca dalam metode penghitungan statistik menggunakan SPSS Versi 24, dengan One Way Anova untuk melihat perbedaan antara sampel DM tipe 1 dan 2 yang berbeda signifikan (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu terdapat perbedaan konsentrasi, motilitas dan morfologi pada pasien penderita DM tipe 1 dan 2.
