Abstract

This article assesses whether or not the syari`ah bank is in its practice similar to the conventional one. This study uncovers that these two types of bank have some similarities in their practices of financing cooperations either in terms of their procedures, their administrations, and their principles.

Abstract

This article reveals the marginalization of Jemaat Ahmadiyah Indonesia (JAI) or Qadiyani Ahmadiyah in Indonesia and adjustment of social action, especially during the reign of the reform era. JAI social action adjustment is indicated by aseries of reality, namely: (1) basic solid belief in distress situations though never make existence weakened; (2) the exclusion of that happening is seen as the potential to increase the spirit of congregation more organized, making the movements exist with or without the attributes of the community; (3) the existence of accommodating movement patterns, contributing positively to the stability of the State and to develop humanitarian activities; and (4) their ability to orient its movement through the mechanism of purport back to his faith, sothat open to the more significant accommodating space. Through the process of adjustment of the social action, JAI resilience as an organization has strengthened. This study provides strong support to the theory of inclusive interaction as relational institutions in civil society or order of a civilized society.

Abstract

This article uses the terms “Tatar Sunda” to refer geographically to a region that stretches from the Sunda Strait (Selat Sunda/Ujung Kulon) to some of the Central Javanese territorries bordering with Cipamali/Kalipamali in Brebes in the Central Java and Kali Serayu in South of Central Java next to Cilacap. This paper argues that the religious life in the Sundanese Tatar historically and culturally took place peacefully. This paper bases this argument on the Sundanese manuscripts saying that the Hinduization process in the Tatar Sunda was mostly derived from the Hindu kingdoms’ elites in the Tatar Sunda. In contrast, the process of Islamization in the Tatar Sunda was instigated from the lower classes (ordinary people). Meanwhile, some of these elites and some of the Sundanese people were able to welcome and accept Islam. Moreover, some of these Hindu elites were voluntarily converted to Islam.

Abstract

Temuan penelitian ini menurut Thi Tuyet Tran,”Limitation on Development of Skills in Higher Education in  Vietnam (2013)” menyimpulkan bahwa, keterbatasan lembaga pendidikan menengah dalam pengembangan keterampilan sumber daya manusia merupakan suatu hambatan sumber daya manusia dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Penelitian ini mengkritisi pandangan neo-liberalisme dalam pendidikan yang melihat lembaga pendidikan sebagai pabrik yang memproduksi tenaga-tenaga terampil siap pakai untuk kepentingan pertumbuhan ekonomi belaka. Komersialisasi pendidikan hanya melihat lembaga sekolah sebagai penghasil tenaga kerja  siap pakai saja, atau hanya berjalan melalui cara-cara menghapal atau rote-learning. Penelitian ini mendukung pendapat Anna Craft, dalam “The Limits to Creativity in Education: Dilemmas for Educator”, (2003) yang menyimpulkan bahwa, perkembangan kemajuan sain dan teknologi membuat perkembangan pembelajaran keterampilan menjadi perkembangan positif  dalam perubahan tingkat sosial masyarakat. Sumber daya manusia yang memiliki keterampilan yang profesional, memiliki kemampuan ketepatan dan kecepatan dalam persaingan dunia usaha. Penelitian ini juga mendukung pendapat Intan Irawati dan Kun Sri Wardhani (2012), bahwa Program Keterampilan adalah penting bagi kehidupan sosial peserta didik. Penempatan Program Keterampilan pada Madrasah Aliyah memiliki tujuan untuk menjadikan peserta didik terampil. Sumber data penelitian ini diperoleh dari data-data empiris respon 151 siswa dalam pembelajaran keterampilan dan aktualisasi implentasinya  di tiga Madrasah Aliyah di Jakarta yang memiliki program keterampilan, yaitu MAN 8, MAN 13 dan MAN 15. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif disajikan dalam bentuk analisis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian dengan kuesioner bagi siswa berbentuk skala likert dengan 4 opsi SS, S, TS, STS. Adapun  reliabilitas instrumen 0.879 dan validitas instrument 0,526 yang menunjukkan bahwa instrument valid dan reliabel. Panduan wawancara dan kuesioner telah divalidasi secara konstruk oleh ekspert. Untuk memeriksa keabsahan data digunakan teknik triangulasi dan teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan interpretasi data secara kualitatif, analisis instrumen dengan program SPSS 20.0 dan statistic deskriptif. Teknik Analisis deskripsi (Deskriptif Analisys), yaitu mendeskripsikan informasi dari responden dalam data kualitatif, dilakukan dengan cara menyusun dan mengelompokkan data yang ada, sehingga memberikan gambaran nyata terhadap responden

Abstract

The presentation of the story in the Qur'an is always interrupted by religious advice. Stories are a very good method for teaching. The twists and turns of the journey of the Prophet Yusuf are told in Q.S. Joseph verses 1-111. In the story there are many lessons we can take. This paper will explain the story of the Prophet Joseph using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. This writing data is sourced from books and journals that are relevant to the theme of the writing.

Abstract

This paper delvs a set of ‘financial exclusion’ factors in the Syari`ah (Islamic-law based) banking and measures its inclusive financial index. The financial exclusion is a condition, in which society has an obstacle to have an access into a financial institution. In contrast, the ‘financial inclusion’ is a process, in which a financial institution paves an access into a formal financial institution for unbankable people. This study is descriptive and qualitative. That is, the qualitative analysis uses the analytical technique data developed by Miles and Huberman (2009), such as data reduction, data display, and drawing or verivication of conclusion. Meanwhile, Quantitative analysis uses an Inclusive Financial Index (Indeks Keuangan Inklusif/IKI), such as dimensions attributed to the banking services, such as access, element of usage, and component of quality. This research employs primary resources resulted from interview and macro economic data, particularly sector of banking services. Additionally, this paper also refers to its secondary resources, such as financial report of Syari`ah banking dated from 2014 to 2016, and findings of diverse resources in terms of data, journals, books, and others connected to this study.

Abstract

Islam and the Javanese culture is a major theme which has become the discussion throughout of the archipelago. Centuries ago when Islam came to the archipelago, it was discussed with other great ideas such as Hinduism, Buddhism and the local religions. In contrast, the culture has been the legacy of the Javanese for thousands of years and continues to be enriched by world cultures. The relationship between Islam and the Javanese, therefore, attracted the interest of researchers and produced many academic works. Throughout its history, the relationship between Islam and the Javanese culture was not always harmonious. At times there were tensions and then at other moments there was consensus, the phenomenon was open and hidden. Such a paradox is referred to as the indigenization of Islam in Java. Indigenization of Islam is the transformation process of mutual borrowing between the outside elements and the locality. Indigenization of Islam is the articulation of socio-cultural interaction of Islam within the Javanese culture in the context of the nation-state: Islam must rise to higher levels as a means of achieving national unity. The paper discusses the indigenization of Islam in the context of the nation state.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa  terdapat perbedaan dampak Corporate Social Responsibility/CSR  bank syariah dan bank konvensional terhadap pemberdayaan masyarakat. Dari tiga variabel yang diujikan meliputi variabel ekonomi, sosial dan lingkungan yang diukur secara terpisah, ternyata variabel ekonomi pada bank konvensional tidak memiliki dampak, sedangkan variabel sosial dan lingkungan memiliki dampak terhadap pemberdayaan masyarakat. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa program CSR bank konvensional tidak murni berperan dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat, tapi lebih kearah bisnis komersil dan keberpihakan kepada pelaku usaha yang lebih feasible. Program CSR bidang ekonomi yang dijalankannya dengan model pola kemitraan yang berujung pemberian fasilitas pinjaman dengan tingkat suku bunga dan persyaratan tertentu sehingga  memberatkan masyarakat.Sebaliknya, CSR bank syariah lebih berdampak pada pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat, karena dibarengi dengan pembinaan dan pengembangan ekonomi umat. Program yang dilakukannya melalui penyaluran  produk kredit kebajikan (qard h}asan), yaitu pinjaman tanpa margin (bagi hasil) yang diberikan secara perorangan dan kelompok.Penelitian ini sependapat dengan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Sayd Farook, et al (2011), Al-Qadi (2012),Yazis, et al (2013), Chintaman (2014), dan Ershad (2015), bahwa bank syariah  menerapkan aspek tanggung jawab sosial dalam semua dimensi, sedangkan bank konvensional lebih pada dimensi sosial dan lingkungan. Sependapat pula dengan teori Elkington (1999), Jim Ife, et al (2006), Chahal, et al (2006), dan David Crawther (2008), yang mengatakan bahwa dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat hendaklah disertai transformasi  secara seimbang, baik itu transformasi ekonomi, sosial, lingkungan, budaya dan agama maupun politik, sehingga kekuatan faktor-faktor itu akan membentuk kemandirian masyarakat.Sebaliknya, penelitian ini tidak sependapat dengan teori Milton Friedman (1962), Joel Bakan (1970) dan Thurow (1997), bahwa tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan hanyalah memaksimumkan profit dan bila perusahaan melaksanakan CSR  akan menurunkan profit. Tanggung jawab sosial hanya ada pada individu dan tidak melekat pada perusahaan, sebab tanggung jawab perusahaan adalah menghasilkan keuntungan sebesar-besarnya bagi pemegang saham.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif.  Data primer meliputi hasil observasi, wawancara dan penyebaran angket. Data sekunder meliputi buku, jurnal, artikel, laporan tahunan perusahaan dan sumber lainnya yang relevan dengan topik penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ekonomi dengan teknik analisis data multiple linear regression.

Abstract

This paper deals with the way how Muslim society applies its religious (Islamic) doctrines. It discusses how social values and behaviors taught by Walisongo are preserved by the society as to bring them to their life’s goals can realize the development of the quality of the model of both individual and collective religiosity, and argues that this in turn will build a hormonius social life within civil society, free from ethnical and religious conflicts.
